After installing 13, I get hourglass symbols for all the pictures in the catalog, and when I click on them, I can see the picture image, but obviously can't search the catalog visually. Any ideas?

I'm moving an internal hard drive from an old computer to a new computer. How do I transfer the catalog data to my new computer so the Organizer of Photoshop Elements 6 will find the data on the hard that has been moved to the new computer?

I'm moving an internal hard drive from an old computer to a new computer. (My new compute runs Windows 8.1) How do I transfer the catalog data to my new computer so the Organizer of Photoshop Elements 6 will find the data on the hard that has been moved to the new computer? Is this possible or do I have to use the procedure of copying the catalog along with the photos to a back up hard drive and then restore them on the new computer?

The 'normal' procedure is to do a PSE organizer backup (not a copy or a backup from external tools) to an external drive, then a restore to the new location.
The advantage is that you have a backup of both catalog and media files and you don't have all disconnected files, which would happen with external backup tools. Also, if you restore with a more recent elements version, the catalog will be automatically updated to the new format.
The drawback in your situation is that you'll have either to overwrite all your files or restore to a custom location, creating a duplicate photo library (which supposes you have enough free space).
It would be possible to simply use the organizer in the old PC to move the catalog to a new 'custom' folder just under your C: root drive. The catalog would be accessible once the drive will be installed in the new PC. Then you would have all files 'disconnected' due to the fact that all your media files are now on a drive with a different letter. Reconnecting a whole library is a hard job with PSE6, less so with PSE11/PSE12.
If the idea of fiddling with the sqlite database with external sqlite manager tools is ok for you, I can describe the process more in detail. You only copy your catalog folder (as suggested above) to another location. Instead of trying the 'reconnection' way, you install the sqlite utility on the new computer. When the old drive is installed in the new computer, you simply edit a given record in the catalog database, catalog.psedb, and start the organizer with your copied catalog by simply double clicking the 'catalog.psedb' file.
Even if the last solution is much, much quicker, I would still create a new PSE backup : you have never too much safety .

How can I get a folder to appear in the Folder list when I am trying to import pictures?

There is a folder on my hard drive that does not appear in the list of folders in the import dialog. I have tried expanding all the other folders around it (my photos are filed by date of capture) to see if it was somehow imported as a subfolder. It is simply not there. I can find and open it and access all the pictures in Photoshop Elements but not in Lightroom 4. Any ideas?

I would try this:
In Lr import one photo into a different folder that you can see in the list.
Then in your OS (mac Finder / Win Explorer) move the photo to the folder that you cannot see.
In Lr the photo will now appear with a question mark on its frame. Click directly on the question mark and select <Locate photo>. Navigate to the folder, open it, and click on the photo.
Maybe this will help Lr to recognize the folder.
If this doesn't help try renaming the folder in your OS.

A Page consists a readers spread. A left facing page, and a right facing page. In the caes of iBooks Author that thinking is throw out the window. I am going to reference page 2 and page 3 of that Life on Earth iBook. The planet earth image.
1. Take an image/object and place it where you want on the Right side of your Page. Now select that image/object and COMMAND-C (Edit>Copy) so we have a copy in the pastboard.
2. Go to the Left ajoining page by scrolling the layout to the right and simply COMMAND-V (Edit Paste) so the image/object now resides on the left page. Position this image so it mirrors the opposite side of the image/object you place on the Right page.
Hope that all made sense.

Despite forcing a refresh and waiting several days, we are still not seeing the collection images show up in iTunes U using a feed from our in-development RSS feed service which is slated to replace our in-service machine in the next few weeks. One of the new features is the inclusion of channel/collection images in the RSS feed so this is an item of considerable concern for us.
The currently deployed system sent the same image for all channels/collections, a stock institutional logo. That got really monotonous very quickly. The new system enables the channel owner to upload a 300x300 image for each channel. So we have a set of two case studies to compare.

Since you can paste the address of this image into a web browser and see it just fine, I’m at a loss to understand why iTunes U is unable to do so in this case (the in-development server) when it succeeds in the case of the currently deployed server. The structure of the RSS is exactly the same.
Now that both channels are published, a further mystery is pictured below. The “old” or currently deployed server displays the image in the RSS feed but the “new” server is displaying a podcast icon! Where did that come from? It certainly doesn’t look anything like the image we specified in the RSS feed for that channel.

Since iTunes U doesn't (yet) support uploaded images for episodes/items, I wondered if this might be the culprit. OTOH, unrecognized tags should be ignored.

It would help if you'd given some idea of what you've done so far, so that people don't waste time going through the things you've already done.
For example, you don't say whether or not you've connected the XServe RAID to a host system via the fiber channel cables. That's the first thing.
Have you yet configured the XServe RAID (using RAID Admin) with the array settings you want (e.g. RAID 5, RAID 1, one slice, 5 slices, etc., etc., etc.).
Out of the box, the XServe RAID will be configured for one RAID 5 array per side, so you might be OK there, but you might not.
Then does Disk Utility show the arrays at all?
If not, does System Profiler show the arrays connected?
If they are connected Disk Utility would usually show them, which might indicate the fiber channel cables are not connected.
If Disk Utility does show them, you might need to initialize the arrays. Once they're initialized they should appear on the desktop.

It doesn not appear on the left hand side of Digital Editions under Devices (devices does not appear either) when ADE is started. The book I downloaded appears in ADE and is readable in ADE. The eReader is authorized/activated with an AdobeID rather than with a computer.
It is possible to have multiple computers and multiple devices all authorized with the same ID.
The eReader gets its authorization when you Authorize Device from any computer;
and then should work find when connected to any other computer authorized with the same ID.

One possible reason for your issue is that you haven't authorized the laptop with your AdobeID.
In that case ADE generates an anonymous/implicit ID with very limited capabilities.
In particular, one capability missing is the ability to pass the implicit ID onto a device;
so it is possible (???) that in that case ADE does not show the device.
If that is the case
ctrl-shift-D to ADE (cmd-shift-D if it's a Mac) on the laptop to remove the anonymous ID
restart ADE (maybe not needed)
authorize ADE with the same ID as you are using on the desktop
restart ADE (maybe not needed)
plug in the eReader and see if it is recognized

That is NOT a picture of a PHONE. The colors, widgets etc are made up, they're not real. As far as I know there is no way except to make your own widget background, hack into the program's code and replace the widget background to your own. I would guess that it's not open source code so good luck. The programming may not be that bad depending on what language it's done with. I have no idea, not a programmer, but sometimes images like backgrounds are stored in DLL files.
To customize individual apps design you need to rebuild the actual software of the app itself. That is not a theme, it's not even a picture of a phone LOL
It's a drawing so they could make stuff any color they want (the blue is probably just a mistake)
edited: The OVI icon I've never seen before. Maybe it's on other carriers but I've never seen it. I know the contact pictures are set in the contacts list, I don't know how to choose an icon for an application shortcut but I know it's possible. Theme makers do it so it mnust be possible to do a single icon.

When I connect my MacBook Air to the Thunderbolt, the dock remains on my laptop.
My husband's MacBook Pro automatically puts the dock at the bottom of the Thunderbolt screen.
Also, when I open any application or a new window in an open application, the new window appears on my laptop
and I have to drag it to the Thunderbolt display.
Is there any way to get the dock and windows to appear on the Thunderbolt automatically so I can work only on the

Are you using a Windows system, and do you have File Explore set to show extensions? I am wondering if the file name might look like:
'Starbirds Picture.jpg.tiff' ?
The fact that you say the image looks different after reducing its bit depth makes me think you are right about it being 32 bit, but as Chris said, it can't be a JPG.
Your computer monitor is not capable of displaying the full tonal range of a 32bit image produced by an HDR program like Photomatix or Photoshop, so it has to make compromises. You have to chose what process to use to reduce its bit depth to give it the look you are after. I prefer Photomatix for HDR. If you install a trial version and open your 32 bit image in it, you can then chose one of the options to convert it to 16 or 8 bit. These might be Tone Mapping, Exposure Fusion, or Tone Compression. Tone Mapping is the option that produces the typical HDR look.
But you are using Photoshop. I haven't noticed what version you are using, but Google Photoshop (your version) HDR processing, and you'll see how to control the end look of the image.
