How do I get Thunderbird to switch to a new tab immediately like I can with Firefox?

Every time I open a new tab in Thunderbird, no matter how I do it (menu, double-click, etc) it opens the content in a new tab, but remains focused on the current tab. How do I get Thunderbird to immediately switch to a new tab when I open one? It's quite annoying to have to mouse back to the tab list and click on the new one every time. This is SO simple to configure in Firefox, but seems to be totally missing in Thunderbird. Weird.

How do I get the thumbnails back on a new tab page?

I get a AVG Secure Search page instead of the thumbnail page now when I load a new tab. How do I get the thumbnails back? I don't have an gear icon on the page to switch it back. This happen after I did a reset of Firefox so that MapQuest would work again which it now does.
What is interesting is that I get thumbnails if I open a second Firefox window and then click on a new tap page.
I've install the searchreset addon with no luck. I've run Microsoft Safety Scanner and no problems have been identified.

When I click on a bookmark stored in my bookmark toolbar it opens in a sidebar rather than a new tab. How do I get it to open in a new tab?

I just set my bookmark toolbar up with my most often used URL's. However when I click on a bookmarked URL from my toolbar, it opens in a sidebar to the left on my main screen, rather than in a new tab. The sidebar is cumbersome because I have to scroll around to see the entire screen. How do I get the URL to open in a new tab, not in the sidebar?

Opening in the Sidebar is the default action for bookmarks that are created via a "Bookmark this Page" link or button on a website. Make sure you use the many "Bookmark this Page" methods that are in Firefox instead.
Right-click that bookmark and select '''Properties''', then un-check the preference for '''Load this bookmark in the sidebar''', and then click Save.

How do I control the tabs appearance like ColorfulTabs does with Firefox

My Tabs for Open Messages are very generic; i.e its almost impossible to differentiate between which one is Open and which ones should be in the background. Colourful Tabs for Firefox is the kind of options I need.

You could change the colour of the selected tab, if that is what you mean.
Make a userChrome.css file that will go into a subdirectory in the profile, named chrome. The code to put into that file:

Not sure what you are asking. I use yahoo for my email address. My cell phone can get the messages. They are marked 'read'. Later when I want to download emails to Thunderbird, it does not, because messages are mark read, and Thunderbird only downloads 'new' messages, aka already read.

I know how to get the pages of my iWeb created site to open as a 'New Page' by using the Inspector. What I want to do however, is to get them to open as a 'New Tab' instead.
I want to do this because I have several pages that open as a 'New Page' and it litters the screen with Safari pages. So instead of a 'New Page', I want them to open as a 'New Tab' within the one Safari window.
This is what I want to happen:
1: user clicks on link
2: link opens a new Tab
3: Safari switches to the new Tab and makes it the active Tab.
Can someone please tell me how to get this to happen. Just ot be totally clear: I am aware that I can alter [MY] Safari settings to do this on my own Mac. But I want it to happen as default for everyone who visits my site and clicks on the corresponding links.

Right-click > open link in new tab.
Works with all webpages, not only iWeb ones.
And if it drives you crazy, you may want to seek professional help with medication.
Or learn to use your computer.

So I'm adding new songs to a very old playlist? Is there anyway that when I add them, they automatically go to top of playlist? How about getting one song to the top of a playlist. That drag to arrange function is very annoying because it is slow and the playlist does not scroll up very well on a PC.

Make a new playlist by pressing the little plus button at the very lower left corner of iTunes. An new playlist will appear in the Source pane called "untitled playlist". While the name is highlighted, you can change it to whatever you want. Drag all of the tracks from all the albums that comprise a single book to that playlist. Sync that playlist to your iPod.

They can't. Which came first - the chicken or the egg? Actually, that's a bad comparison but a sync must come first.
The library is actually part of iTunes and it contains everything. iTunes is then configured so that you (or they) determine which portion of everything will be synced to each iPod (identified by a unique name, see below for an example of an iPod and an iPad). iTunes can't make that decision until AFTER it knows which iPods exist.
By the way, I (you, they) can very easily change the name of each device to whatever I (you, they) wish to call it.
