How do I get U.S. iTunes in Europe?

While my Mac is fine, my XP machine recently bought the farm while I am here in Europe (go figure). Good news is that I had backed up my music from my XP machine to my Mac. Bad news is once I reformatted/reinstalled XP, and then downloaded iTunes, the music store now shows everything in Swiss Francs and is more expensive with the current exchange rate!
So, anyone know how I can get the US version of iTunes over here so I can go back to .99 downloads?? Help appreciated!

Just scroll down to the bottom of iTMS start page in
iTunes, then select USA as country.
Sorry if I seem clueless here, but I don't see anywhere in the iTunes program where I can select the country. Do you mean during installation? If so, then yes I did that but I think itunes knows by domain where the connection is coming from and changes it's setup accordingly. If it's in the application, could you please be a little more specific? Thanks!!!

Since that password is tied to his Apple ID, you will need to contact Apple; as far as I know, it will be a somewhat lengthy procedure and you will need to furnish necessary paperwork (including a death certificate as far as I know). Best to either stop at an Apple store or call them to find out exactly what it is you need to do.

Have you copied your content over from your old computer and onto the new on ? If not, and you still have your old computer, then there a number of methods described on this page which you can use to copy your library over : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527 . If you no longer have your old computer then have you got a backup of your content that you can copy onto the new computer and add into iTunes ?

It sounds like you would like to download your iTunes purchases to your computer rather than streaming them from iTunes in the Cloud. I recommend downloading your purchases directly to your computer using the Purchases page in the iTunes Store:
Download previous iTunes Store purchases to an authorized computer
Click iTunes Store near the top of the iTunes window.
Click the Purchased link at the right of the iTunes Store homepage (below Quick Links).
In the page that appears, select a category.
iTunes shows you which of your purchases are available for download. You can view all of your past purchases, or just the ones not currently in your iTunes library. Items already in your library aren’t available for download. If you select Music, you can view your purchases by song, artist, or album. If you’re viewing by album, click an album to see which songs on it are available for downloading.
To download all available items, click Download All.

Take a look at Apple's document for authorizations -> iTunes Store: About authorization and deauthorization.
You can deauthorize all computers from iTunes. All you have to do is click iTunes Store, click your account name in the upper right corner of iTunes, then deauthorize all.

When you are done with this issue, consider the computer back at the office may still
have access to your iTunes account, and it should be de-auhorized. You can do that
remotely, but be sure you carefully do not mess up your other computer iTunes libraries.

1) ensure iTunes is authorized for your iTunes store account(s)
2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.

That is not necessarily true. You are allowed to make a back-up of media you own and, at least in the Netherlands, even a copy of a work you've borrowed from a library. The law expressly permits this and you pay a certain amount for recordable media to allow for home use. See http://www.thuiskopie.nl/nl for this. If you then decide to destroy the media, i.e. do not transfer the media to someone else, I don't see how you infringe copyright by keeping the back-up. But I guess some so-called creatives like the idea of making money in all kinds of hypothetical ways...
It is a nice dream, where you have to work once and then earn a lot of money by selling millions of copies from your work. But buyers can make copies too!! Hahahahahaha!

Well, I believe I found it.....
When I connect the IPhone the device name pops up under devices in the selection column. Right click on the device name and select "Back-up".....
If this is incorrect please let others know as I won't be able to because my wife will have destroyed all computers in the house for losing her data.
