How do I get very short movies to play one after the other?
I have some video tutorials to show me how to use software on the Mac.
When a short 4 min. video is finished - I have to double click the next one.
There must be a way to have continuous playing of movies back to back...
I've looked - I am sure it's obvious...

I returned the 160GB Apple TV to the dealer for a full refund ($367). The happend to have a iMac G4 80GB HD, seven hundred something RAM "Lampshade". Bought it for $350. Gave it to my wife. Taking her TiBook G4 to feed the TV.

Hi Dr. Ron,
By your question, I am wondering if you are playing your music from the iTunes app rather than the Music app?
In the Music App, you can go to any of the options at the bottom and click on a song to play and it will then continue to play the songs in that category. You can also select "Shuffle" to shuffle them.
As for your Photos, did you have them backed up anywhere?

Podcasts - getting them ALL to play (one after the other)...

I have several podcasts on my ipod (video and audio). How can it to play them in succession (the first one ends, the 2nd postcast starts, and so on..). I have CNN news for a video podcast. I watch one day of news. It ends then stops and brings me back to the main menu of the podcast. I have to scroll down and goto the 2nd day and watch. Then repeat. I'd like to just watch them all in row, one after the other. How can I do this???

I started doing this some time ago and it worked very well. However, this last week or so when I go to Music:Playlist:Podcast and play (not select) it doesn't play now. Before it would go through one podcast after another. I may have changed a shuffle/repeat setting but the other playlists work. I recently installed iQuiz a great 'game' but there were reports of it changing settings.

You can consider to access the tabs via the list all tabs button.
You see the "List All Tabs" button in current Firefox versions if there are that many tabs open that you get the Tab bar scroll buttons appearing.

How to have it keep playing podcasts one after the other, automatically?

This may be a stupid question... I have a bunch of podcasts on my iPod. I find that when listening (through the "Podcasts" menu on the iPod, not a separate playlist I made myself), when one is finished, it stops and I have to pick it up and ask it to start the next one. How do I get it to just keep going (one after the other)?

Are you (by any chance) saying that you have a video iPod, not a Classic?
actually I have both I have a Classic in my car, and a video one for travel. Both have the same issue but since it turns out they handle this differently, I wanted to know if the workaround posted for the Classic might have a counterpart in the video one... Thanks again!

Playing movie clips one after the other

Hello, I am trying to figure out how to play several movie clips one after the other. Each clip has animation in it. When I drag the clip on the main timeline the timeline plays the frame but does not play the contents of the movie. how do I get it to play the contents of the first movie then play the contents of the second movie which is in frame 2 and so on?

do you mean in the authoring environment you don't see nested movieclips play when scrubbing the timeline? if yes, that cannot be changed. if you used graphic symbols (instead of movieclips), you can see nested graphics play when scrubbing a parent timeline (if the parent timeline has sufficient frames).

Why am I getting an error when I place two OAM files one after the other in different pages? They do not load or play correctly. They are both configured to play automatically with a .125 second delay and both have a white rectangle "poster" over for a hidden effect.

Thanks for the idea, Scott! I initially tried your idea, but my OAM files were still not loading correctly. I tried other combinations of OAM files, and it seems to work fine.
Back to my original OAM files: I made sure that my elements in my Edge Animate project had different names. I originally copied parts of some elements from one to another, and I think it was confusing to DPS to read it.

How do i get a rental movie that is stuck in the processing stage off of my i-pod down loading screen?

I attempted to rent a movie from i-tunes. The download started and toward the end of the process it stopped downloading and it said "processing". Then i went to the video page and the movie was there and the 24hr countdown had already started. So i figured after the 24hrs was up everything would be gone and i could reorder another movie. Well after 24hrs the movie was gone, but the "processing" process was still on the download page in i-tunes and it will not go away!!!!!! Also the 2.9 Gigabytes that went with the movie are still gone. I've tapped to retry, I've rebooted the device. Please help me get rid of this problem. Thank you........

How can I get a Quicktime movie to play over a background slideshow?

I created a slideshow in PowerPoint 2003 a few years ago and would like to update it using Keynote '09. PowerPoint had a "play once" and a "Play in foreground" option that let the movie play in the same spot continuously until the last of the 21 slides are displayed. The slides were timed with background graphics and lyrics that matched the song being sung in the Quicktime movie.
It's a song my daughter wrote and performed and it's something I think could be vastly improved using Keynote's amazing transitions, etc.
When I tried simply importing the presentation from PowerPoint, the video will start to play but when the second slide is displayed, the video is no longer visible. I tried to set Keynote to play it on all slides, but that just restarts the audio to a "row row your boat" round kind of thing. The video doesn't play on the remaining slides.
Is there a way to make this happen?

That's a shame. It takes some tweaking, but PowerPoint can do this. I know it's not something that is needed all the time, but it's something I've needed on a few occasions. I wonder how well the timing would work out if I broke the video up into sub clips and simply assigned a clip to each slide? It's a lot more work and I suspect I'll pick up some clips and pops during the slide changes.
Keynote is still far better at what it does than PowerPoint, but do I ever wish it could do this so I could really show it off to people.

The iphone is designed to be synced to your computer regularly. Your contacts should be in whatever program you have chosen to sync (Outlook or Address Book for example).

How can I get my Apple Remote to play/pause and do other functions on all applications?

When I press the F8 button on my Macbook, it plays or pauses the media for whatever media application I have open, whether that's iTunes, VLC, or MPlayerX. Same goes for F7 and F9, which are backwards and forewards respectively.
Well I recently bought an Apple Remote and expected that the same thing would go for the remote; the play/pause button would give the same command as the F8 button, so I could use the remote on whatever application that also supported the F7, F8, and F9 buttons. But apparently, that's not the case; so far I've only been able to control iTunes.
So is there any setting I can change or program I need to install to have the Apple Remote buttons work just like the keyboard media buttons? I tried Remote Buddy, but that's not giving me specifically what I want since it's only designed to make specific programs compatible. But they still don't support for example MPlayerX, which is my default video player.

Gosh, that must explain why it didn't come with a magic hat!
I completely accept the fact that Apple designed it to do a limited set of functions, but in the post I asked if there was any program that I can install that causes it to do hit the function keys for me. There's already Remote Buddy, which intercepts remote signals and performs specific functions instead of the normal ones. How then can there not be a program that also intercepts them, but hits the function keys? Seems to me that that would be even easier than what Remote Buddy's doing.
