How do I go back to version 3.6.16?? I don't like version 4!!!

In version 4 I can't find the refresh button, the back button is missing and I can't find a way to add a new tab......I want to go back to the previous version on my desktop computer!!!!

Thanks for the NON-help!! The link that was presented showed 3.6.16 for only foreign languages. Regarding non-support for 3.6.16, I suggest to the developers of FireFox that they quit mucking around with it and leave items in the same place as they were in 3.6.16. I don't have time to be researching new methods of doing this and finding out how to make things worked as they did before. I was perfectly happy with 3.6.16. If you insist on NOT make version 4 more friendly then I will have to go to Netscape.....don't want to because AOL owns it but will go there if your firefox is not fixed. And yes right now it is BROKEN....I couldn't find the refresh button, I couldn't find how to add another tab and just didn't like the look of it because of the placement of stuff. You folks broke it....I ain't using it broken!!!!

  • How can I go back to 3.6+. I really don't like 4.0!

I want to go back to the previous version of firefox. I don't like 4.0

Firefox is highly customizable and you may be able to customize it to meet your needs.
If you do not like the new UI, you can make Firefox 4 look and behave more like Firefox 3.6, for details see http://redherring2.wordpress.com/2011/01/17/firefox-4-restoring-firefox-3-ui
Is there something else you would like to change?
To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.
For details of how to find your profile folder see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles

You can't view individual files contained in the backup.  You can control which apps are backed up, and whether or not the camera roll is included in the backup, by going to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tapping the name of your device under Backups, then looking under Backup Options.

  • How can I revert back to version 5.1 from 6.1. Bluetooth support told me that version 6.1 is not supported. I highly doubt it. My voice recognition reconizes " Call my wife command".

I just bought a new car. Hyundia Hybrid. My bluetooth is not Reconizing my command to call a contact. I've been back to the dealer and no luck. When speaking to Bluetooth support directly he doesn't see Version 6.1. and suggested going back to Version 5.1 which is documented to be compatable with my Iphone 4s.
I doubt it because  voice recognition takes the command " Call  Wife" Can I revert back to 5.1 without clearing my phone back to origional settings?

I'm sorry, but Apple does not provide a downgrade path for iOS. Because downgrading is unsupported by Apple we cannot discuss it on these forums, but you can use Google to find information on how to install an older version of iOS on any iDevice.

  • How Do I roll-back to Version 6.0.5?

iTunes 7 is despicable. It crashes on me every other minute, and has to go. I tried rolling back to Version 6.0.5, but now I get a message that reads:
The file "iTunes Library.itl" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes.
I've completely uninstalled the evil Vs. 7 and made sure all Apple updater files were removed too, so why are bits of it lurking in my pc stopping me from getting my music back?
This is a nightmare. 2nd total iPod nightmare. I'm very close to calling it quits with this junk.
    Please help!!!

Excellent....I did a search for the file name and then opened containing folder and deleted it all.
Version 6.0.5 is working fine like it did before.
I cannot believe how bad Version 7 was on my PC.

  • Some how, without asking my foxfire updated to 4.0 and I don't like it. How do I go back to my previous version?

I have seen Firefox 4.0 on another computer and don't like what you have done to it so when it asked if I wanted 4.0 I always said NO. This time when I booted up and opened firefox it said updates were being installed and when it finished it was 4.0.
I want to go back to my previous version. How do I do that?

Check that your automatic updates setting has not changed. I recommend "Ask me what I want to do".
If you have the orange Firefox button, tap the Alt key to display the classic menu bar, then
    Tools > Options > Advanced > Update mini-tab
What don't you like about Firefox 4? Maybe it's easy to change?
Here's the process to roll back:
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, download and save Firefox 3.6 to your desktop for future installation. http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older
    Close Firefox 4.
You could install Firefox 3.6 over it (many have reported success) or you could uninstall Firefox first. If you uninstall, do not remove your personal data and settings, just the program.
Unless you have installed an incompatible add-on, Firefox 3.6 should pick up where you left off. If there are serious issues, please post back with details.
Note: I haven't actually tried this myself!

  • The Google Toolbar doesn't work with Firefox 5 and all my bookmarks are saved in the toolbar. How do I go back to version 4?

Unfortunately any enhancements that you've made with FF5 don't outweigh the loss of my bookmarks in the Google Toolbar. How do I go back to FF4?

Install the following Add-on until Google releases a new version of their toolbar that is compatible with Firefox 5. Most Add-ons that worked with Firefox 4 should still work with Firefox 5, but the developers need to update a line in their Add-on's code to indicate with which versions of Firefox the Add-on is compatible. The following Add-on adds a "Compatibility" button in your Add-ons > Extensions that you may need to click after installing it and restarting Firefox.

  • How do I go back to version 3.6? I don't like this version.

I don't like several of the changes in version 4. I want to go back to the previous version I was using. How do I do that? Version 3.6 would be fine. I hope this can be done. I used to like Firefox and I really don't want to go back to Explorer, but I will if I can't get this resolved.

Firefox is highly customizable and you may be able to customize it to meet your needs.
If you do not like the new UI, you can make Firefox 4 look and behave more like Firefox 3.6, for details see http://www.computertechtips.net/64/make-firefox-4-look-like-ff-3-6

  • I installed version 5 from 4, only to find Roboform is not compatible yet, I need to go back to 4 til roboform update their software. HOW can I revert back to version 4 ?

Roboform is as yet not compatible with version . Has I use it on a daily basis version is no good to me at this time. I need to go back to version 4, if there is an easy way other than uninstalling and reinstalling

That's right, though Firefox 8.0 is newer and would have the
    same requirements.
    To go back to 3.6.*
For those that really need an earlier version of Firefox, find your system and the Firefox version you want in releases, download and start the install.
:For the latest of version 3
    * http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older.html
: Note Mac OS X 10.4 user, and Mac OS X 10.5 users without Intel cannot upgrade to Firefox 4 or higher.
When reinstalling Firefox from a download, Firefox must be down once the installation starts. When the installation finishes, don't let the install start firefox for you. Instead end the install and start Firefox in your normal manner, thus preventing creating a new profile which does not have your bookmarks cookies, etc (but your old profile would still be around and would).
Maybe you were looking for this (I think I would stick to 3.6.* on such a machine) No idea if they have anything for later than version 4.
:You can run an unofficial version of Firefox though, see

  • I HAVE FF 3.6.21 DOES FF4 INSTALL OVER IT AND IMPORT ALL SETTINGS, BOOKMARKS, ETC AND CAN I GO BACK TO 3.6.21 IF I DON'T LIKE 4

I HAVE FF 3.6.21 Is FF4 a completely new install or does it install over the existing installation. Does it import settings, bookmarks, stored passwords, etc or do I have to add all that. Lastly, if I don't like FF4 can I go back to FF3 easily

Firefox 4 is no longer available. If upgrading, the only version that you can/should go to is Firefox 6.0.1, the current version. Firefox 7.0 is scheduled to be released on 09-27-2011 ('''''scheduled date is subject to change'''''). After Firefox 4.0, each upgrade replaces the prior version and the prior version is "abandoned" as far as security and stability updates are concerned.
Installing Firefox 6 will preserve your prior bookmarks, passwords, etc. You can/should make a backup of your personal information for safekeeping; what if you have a hard drive failure?
*See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information] '''''and''''' [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_backup Profile backup]
To test the new version 6.0.1 and leave your current Firefox 3.6.21 intact, you can install Firefox Portable. Firefox Portable is not produced by Mozilla (but is based on Firefox released versions) and is not supported on this site -- has its own support forum (see below). Firefox Portable installs in a separate folder on your hard drive and keeps its profile (personal information) separate so that it does not interfere with your current Firefox installation settings or personal information (bookmarks, passwords, etc.). You can also install Firefox Portable on a USB/thumb/pin/jump drive.

  • How to create a back-up version of your helpsystem

My institution is going through a conversion of our core systems in September of this year and I need to develop a process for updating the 700 helpfiles I have within my helpsystem.  Is there a way to create a mirror image of my helpsystem so that I can work con-currently on both helpsystems?  This way when it comes time for conversion in September, I can simply publish the mirror image copy that has been updated with the correct procedures and the old version would no longer be live.
I am currently using RH7 but we are in the process of being updated to RH9 but I am not there yet.  Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks so much!

    Hello again
Personally, I dislike just double-clicking the XPJ to open things up. It may work fine on your system and if it does, I'd say go for it. But I'm notorious for installing many different versions of RoboHelp and other apps on the same system. So I have avoided working that way to open projects because I want to easily control what version of RoboHelp opens when I open a project. My way of working involves first opening RoboHelp (the version I want to use for the session) then opening the project.
Can't help you there with adding the project back to source control. I'm aware of Source Control. I know how it's supposed to work in theory. But I've never used it with RoboHelp. At least not in the recent methods where it's all integrated and RoboHelp operates on your behalf by checking things in and out and all that rot. Personally, I've always avoided integrating because it adds a new level of complexity to the mix. This thread is an excellent example of just one of the many reasons.
Certainly I think I'd try by reversing the steps. And as with anything where you are modifying files, I cannot stress this enough. backups Backups BACKUPS!!!!!
Cheers and best of luck to you... Rick

  • How do I get back to version pre 10.1

I am in a horrible mess with 10.1. How can I revert to the previous version please?

Do you have a copy of the previous version of the software? Did you save your events and projects when you updated them? If yes, you can go back to 10.0.x.

  • How do I go back to version 6?

Can someone take me step by step on how to go back to a version 6 of iTunes without losing any songs or my playlists? I know where to get version 6 but just trying to reinstall that fails because iTunes says I have a later version already installed. I stupidly upgraded to 7.02.16 and when playing a playlist for example I get a lot of skipping when one song ends and another starts. Thanks.
Dell Inspiron 8200   Windows XP Pro

If you have successfully uninstalled 7 and installed 6, you will find a backup copy of your version 6 library in the Previous iTunes Libraires folder. The one you want should be dated the same as the date you first intalled 7. Of course you will have lost anything you did to the library since then.
Just copy this file into your iTunes folder and rename it after backing up the other library files somewhere else.
I had to reauthorise my computer after doing this, so it as well to check purchased music plays before plugging your iPod.
