PeggyIf you can access the drive using MacDrive, the path to your user home folder is
<top level>/Users/<your short user name>/
I don't know of any way to access that drive, other than connecting it to another Mac. -
I use BT Yahoo email in Windows 7 on my laptop. I much prefer to use the old classic email not liking the new version. I can select classic to start with but whenever I move about the system as I process my email it changes from classic to the new system. I find this high handed and most annoying , how con I stop this happening and stay on classic email unless and until I wish to change please? I probably should have posted this query in a forum but as yet I have not found out how to locate a relevant board and post a question. Advice on this would be appreciated as well.

Yesterday while trying to find info, I noticed a bold W in the search box. Now, no matter what I type in the search box, I get taken to Wikipedia. It will not allow me to search for other web sites. I'm using Firefox ver 12. All searches have been working fine before yesterday. I did a system restore, but it didn't help. Don't know where it came from, but I want my other search engines back.

HOW do I cancel my BT Yahoo Preumim email account ...
For over 12 months now I have tried periodically to cancel my Premium access to my BT Yahoo email account. IE, I do not need to collect email via outlook or other pop services any more so there is no point paying for that service. I am happy to log in via a browser.
But every time I get am email about my BT Yahoo account the LINKs & Information in the email make no sense.
This is the latest email I received Today.

I have asked on the very forum before and was told to contact customer support ? There MUST be a way of canceling it online ? Why do BT make there sites so complicated to navigate. And yes I know the email account is part of Yahoo but it is BT that keep sending me emails & taking the money ! So that is why I am asking here.

Dom.An update for anybody else with similar problems.
I did get an email after about 10 days. And the Short version is if you want to cancel your Premium BT Yahoo email account (That costs about £20 a year just to get email via pop3 or pushed to your mobile device) The ONLY way is to phone BT and they will cancel it for you but will also DELETE your email account after 3 Months ! So there seems to be no way to "downgrade" your BT Yahoo email account back to just a web based account.
This feels rather ridiculous if you ask me!
After using my BT email account for 10 years + I am now in the very slow process of logging into every online account I have and changing my email address to a free Gmail account that does the same job for free !
Once I have changed all the email address on all my important accounts I will go a head an cancel this ridiculous payment.
I guess this can now be classed as closed. But not with a happy outcome.

How can I get back Mail Auto-Complete email addresses?
After upgrading to Mountain Lion, my Mail no longer works with the auto-complete of email address.
My Contacts.app works fine, it just seems that Mail is no longer able to 'read' from my Contacts.
I use iCloud and everything was great for years. Mail preferences is set to Auto-Complete email address from my Contacts.
Not sure how the problem started, but I launched Mail on a 2nd computer - on the same iCloud.
Shortly after I did that, my 1st Mac no longer auto-completes email. I'm unsure if that is what set off the problem.
Also, I 'did' read Tom Nelson's article which did not work since it's not an 'alias' problem:

Also, there doesn't appear to be a com.apple.mail.plist preferences file I can even delete in Mountain Lion.

-MarkI had the same issue. After reading this solution I started poking around in the Container folder and found that there was a symlink for AddressBook that was messed up which was causing the problem. In ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail/Data/Library/Application Support I ran:
$ cd ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail/Data/Library/Application\ Support
$ ls -lh
AddressBook -> ??/???7??ʪ?????VT???;??\G[?:??:??????T?_Ү??
CrashReporter
Mail
SyncServices -> ../../../../../Application Support/SyncServices
iCloud -> ../../../../../Application Support/iCloud
Seeing the aliases for SyncServices and iCloud, I guessed correctly that I just needed to recreate the AddressBook alias to point to the right place. So I just removed the alias for AddressBook, recreated it, restarted Mail, and it worked perfectly. (Note: I did the following to remove the alias, and recreate it. You should confirm what you are removing is an alias. You should also always make sure you have a backup.)
$ cd ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail/Data/Library/Application\ Support
$ rm AddressBook
$ ln -s ../../../../../Application\ Support/AddressBook AddressBook
Obviously, DrewSchatt's original solution to this works as well, but this way you don't have to delete the whole folder, resetting your preferences and possibly delete something else important (only recreating the alias, not deleting any files or data). -

How do I get back my two separate email folders?
I previously had my Mail folder with two subfolders showing my two distinctly separate email address boxes. Somehow I lost the distinction and all emails are arriving into one main "mail" box. Under preferences, I show 2 comcast accounts with distinct email addresses. Yet both of the 2 emails are arriving, just all together. Sounds simple? Not for me. Thanks for any help to get my husband and my emails separate again.
It worked! I am so dumb, but so very appreciative of your help. I spent over 2 hours today reading help topics, forums and trying all sorts of things. Technology is moving at faster than lightening speed, and for those of us at the end of the life spectrum, we are fortunate to be able to rely on those of you who can, to help us out. Raniting and raving and having fixed problems one after another including total erase and reinstalling whole operating system i am up too Par with Snow Leopard and JAVA SE6 My Lion and Mountain Lion i have chosen not to reinstall, Reason is i do not own a iphone. When i had Lion Mountain lion installed the new improved Java SE 6 was no improved and tried SE7 and it had skipped Safety features and things in my Operating system were changing on there own.
Using Mountain Lion does not offer the search powered by google in the top right of web page. so Snow Leopard does and java SE6 works for me.
Searching google for safari and Yahoo classic i seen that last there were any help information listed was in 2008. i have tried two address to get classic yahoo restored. 1. http://cm.my.yahoo.com/switch and teh other 2. http://www.yahoo.com/ classic Neither or worked guess Yahoo CEO's Choice took full effect?Sounds like i have listed my own Answers to my Question buy the Titled Entry to the response is the Question/ Where is the way to change back to yahoo classic for i am not to confident in one way or he other if possible to get Yahoo classic after February 2013

Just go to setting, mail, add new account, and hit Yahoo. Fill in your info and you should be off to the races. You may experience problems receiving push email, but will have access to all of your folders. There is hopefully a fix for the push problem coming out soon.

In Safari, (the web browser), there are specific arrows to go back and forward through website pages.
In other Apps, it will depend on how the App is built.
As to Yahoo Mai it depends on where you are viewing the email. If you are using the Mail App, then you don't log out. The Mail accounts in the Mail App are always there.
If you are using the Yahoo App, You can Tap on the folder at the top, then on your account/name, and then on Sign Out. -

if you hid the menu bar and the navigation bar simply press the alt button, this will bring back the menu bar and form there you can right click and select which bars you want shown

I tried to save a video to IPhoto, and then when I tried to open IPhoto it told me I can't open the application because classic environment is no longer supported. What does this mean, and how do I get back all my photos and fix this? thanks.

what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
what fixes have you tried?
where is you library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?

I've lost a load of notes, but dont know why or how to get them back. I cant find the folder that is in my Yahoo account that people have suggested might be the location for the messages. I recently signed into iCloud for the first time. Any idea how to get the notes back? I really dont want to lose them.
It should keep asking for the password, because it's trying to check for purchases... As soon as you login, it will see you have pending downloads and create the downloads section on the left below Purchases under the Store section. Then it will start the music downloads there, as they will be listed one below the other.
You could just try to check your account balance or view your account and that will trigger a password request too. You can just click on that and say that now iTunes keeps asking for the password and ask him to help you with that. Trick would be to interrupt him so that he carries on with another task after, so he doesn't notice the download. Or you carry on with email or browsing which you were "busy" with when iTunes interrupted you for the password (stupid iTunes) -
Since upgrading to 8.0 I can no longer print from Mapquest Classic. It's not a Mapquest problem it's a Firefox problem as I am able to print using IE. I haven't encountered any other sites problems yet but I'm sure it's to come if I don't get this fixed. I need to be able to print. How can I fix this?
