On your web page select the text ot the object you want to link the pdf-file to.
Then open the Inspector window (View -> Show Inspector or alt-cmd-I) and open the Hyperlink tab (marked by the blue arrow).
Select "enable as Hyper link" and set the "Link to" selector to "a file".
In the File chooser select your pdf-file.
If your file is large, you might set the selector to "an external link". Then you enter the URL and it is would be your responsebility to upload the file to its site.

That's exactly how it's going to work. Unless you've set up separate iTunes playlists for your devices, the books will be deposited the books section on iTunes, and will appear as PDFs.
As Gus2259 said, you can use iCloud or Dropbox, or transport it through iTunes via an attached computer, or even use a cable.

we have created an own add-on that is available for all the partners. Partners who want to use this addon have to download license from SAP BUSINESS ONE CUSTOMER PORTAL.
Is there a way to check which partners and how many licenses have been downloaded?

I moved my question to the forum you suggested because it's the correct one.
What I mean with partner is a company who sells Sap Business One to its customers.
My company is a parter sap and has created an own add-on. Every partner can buy and use this add-on, but need to download a license. the partner can download my add-on license from the same website (marketplace) where he download B1 license.
I need to check which partners have downloaded our license and how many.

Hi,
FaceTime on your iPhone is integrated with your Phone app.
Make sure you enable FaceTime first by going to "Settings" > "Phone" Then switch on "FaceTime."
You now can simply go through your contacts list with your Contacts app (or within the Phone app), select a user, then scroll down to the very bottom of the page, and click on "FaceTime." Then you can choose the "Phone Number" or "E-mail" that associates with your friend/family's device. You can even add them to your Favorites list as a FaceTime call, so when you tap their name on your Favorites list, it will initiate a FaceTime call.

I have OSX Maverick on an iMac using Outlook e-mail. PDF attachments are included in the e-mail as the whole document rather than just the PDF icon. How can i have just the PDF icon as an attachment?

In Outlook my PDF attachments appear as whole documents and not just the PDF icon. How can I have attachments included as PDF icons and not the documents?

For your own viewing, you can of course control-click on the attachment and select "View as Icon".
For others' viewing, it depends upon their email reader. To ensure that attachments are not displayed expicitly you can put them all in a zip file (via control click and "Compress") then attaching them, or you can use third party stuff like Attachment Tamer.

In Safari, I can Cmd-click on a link that is a link to a PDF document, and I get a popup asking me how to handle it.
I want to SAVE AS with my own version of the filename.
Seems like FF can only immediately download with the given filename. It does not even display the PDR within FF. Which is sometimes what I want to do too.

A fact that sometimes explains PDF problems on a particular website: Firefox determines which downloads are PDFs based on a content-type header sent by the server, application/pdf. If the server sends some other content-type, Firefox will not try to display it in its PDF Viewer.
To choose how Firefox will handle PDFs, what usually works is to set your preference in the Options dialog on the Applications panel. Either:
* "3-bar" menu button > Options > Applications
* Firefox menu > Preferences > Applications
In the search box above the list, type or paste PDF and pause while the list is filtered. Then use the drop-down on the right side to choose your preference, for example:
* Preview in Firefox (uses the internal PDF Viewer)
* Always Ask (should display the Open/Save/Cancel dialog)
Sometimes the file that stores your download handling preferences will become corrupted. Because it is a poorly documented, difficult to edit format, the standard medicine is to rename the file and have Firefox regenerate a new one. If you want to try that:
Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using either
* "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Troubleshooting Information
* Help menu > Troubleshooting Information
In the first table on the page, click the "Show in Finder" button
Leaving that window open, switch back to Firefox and Exit, either:
* "3-bar" menu button > "power" button

Pause while Firefox finishes its cleanup, then rename '''mimeTypes.rdf''' to something like mimeTypes.old
Start Firefox back up again. PDF settings should default back to "Preview in Firefox" but you can edit as needed. Does Firefox obey?

Good day,
To Bernd's point, you cannot stop someone from downloading your PDF (or any file for that matter) if you put them onto the Internet. There are ways of limiting how long a file can be viewable for through some server side software options, but ultimately, to your original question, you cannot create PDF files with Adobe Reader.

How can I have Mail download only 2 years of my Gmail?

The Mac mailbox for my Gmail account is 30 GB which is too much on a MacBook Air. I do want a two years of my personal and business emails available offline. But I don't need commercial mailinglists or old mail. I do want to keep them on the Gmail server.
Is there a good way to specify a time limit or set of mailboxes with the current version of mail. I like the new Mac Mail approach of keeping the messages in the All Mail folder, despite lables, because it reduces duplicates. But as a result the Gmail IMAP setting to limit downloads to 10,000 messages isn't big enough to give me the number of messages I want on the local drive.
Is there a way to get mail to have smarter limits on what is stored locally?

PS I know Airmail does that, but I haven't had luck with that program.

Hi derreeg Open mail and go to prefs, then select accounts, select your gmail account and click the tab in the right frame called Advanced, there is a check-box you can UNCHECK called include when automatically checking for new mail.
dah dah all done, mail will now not check for new emails sent to your gmail account.

Without knowing more about your workflow its difficult to answer this as there are a number of different ways to accomplish this.
But assuming that you are asking how to do this in Aperture one way would be to set Aperture's import to store the files on your external drive.
By selecting the Store Files pulldown and then choosing Choose... you will be able to select a folder on your external drive. (note in the above screen shot the selection is actually In the Aperture Library you would click on Choose.. at the bottom of the pulldown)
This will cause Aperture to store the files in the folder you indicate and et up the masters as referenced.
But again it would be better if we had a better idea of what you are trying to acomplich and what your workflow is.
