How Do I Hide Mouse Pointer While Typing In Firefox

Only in firefox, and only recently am I having problems typing anything through firefox, as the slightest touch of my laptops touch pad causes the mouse pointer to jump along with my typing cursor. This is causing major issues as I conduct all y business emails through firefox. If this cant be helped I will have to start using Internet Explorer Again. EVERY other program I use auto hides the mouse while typing, Except FF....
== This happened ==
Every time Firefox opened
== Not sure, but I believe a week or so ago

I have had the same problem despite having Hide Pointer When Typing checked in Mouse Properties. Damn annoying. I thought I finally found a solution with a free utility called "Park Cursor Aside" at http://www.makeuseof.com/dir/parkcursoraside-hide-mouse-cursor-when-typing/.
Works great in Chrome and everywhere else EXCEPT Firefox. How about it Mozilla, are you are giving me another reason to switch over to Chrome? Please fix this. Thank you.

  • How do I hide the keyboard while typing an email?

On the iPad you can hide the keyboard anytime while typing.  I cannot see a way to hide the keyboard when typing a mail message. I saw a post saying you close, save, go to your saved messaes and open the message again - too time consuming.  There is a fix on the jailbroken site, but I dont want to jailbreak the phone.  There must be a way to hide the keyboard in a mail messge.  In a text message you can.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Edit
I CAN, but not fully for a preview, as the text box goes up completely after 80 odd characters on the iPhone.
So, now i cannot see a previous message for reference.
Apple needs to incorporate a  'hide keyboard' button

  • Hide mouse cursor when typing is not working in IE11 Windows7

Hide mouse cursor when typing is not working in IE11 Windows7 - I saw a post that devs were looking at this in 2011? Slow progress huh?
This is really annoying when you have to move the cursor to see what you are typing...

    Hi,
Please first make sure that Mouse Properties\Pointer options\Hide pointer while typing is ticked.
If this option is already ticked, then try following steps to troubleshoot:
Update the driver for the mouse to get the best performance.
Choose a different cursor as Rob said for a test.
If this issue occurred recently, check if you have any newly installed programs or IE add-ons which cause this issue, you can test this in no add-ons mode, click start button, type "internet" in the search box, choose "internet explorer (No add-on)".
    * I test in My IE, I have Hide pointer while typing checked, and in some typing boxes in IE the cursor will hide automatically, while some are not, but I think it's not an annoying issue for me.*

  • [SOLVED] CPU use ~25% in X while Typing (xterm, firefox, etc.)

    Hello --
While typing continously, X usage gets up to 25-35% -- high enough to notice a sluggishness on the keys and make things  unpleasant. It's not usually a problem -- but when writing something fast, it's intolerable. Anyone know how to troubleshoot such things? Do people get comparable CPU usage on comparable machines?

For anyone else who has this problem, cairo no longer comes with xcb support -- for one reason or other, I had updated my cairo-xcb to the latest cairo, which taxed X like crazy. Replacing cairo with cairo-xcb did the trick. Now things work nicely.

  • How to trap a mouse pointer??

I have a java graphics aplication that has already been developed. But now it requires all its mouse events to be mapped on to key events. I need to trap the mouse cursor first to assign its left, right,up and down movements. The application is no longer suppose to use any mouse event. So how do i get the pointers position at first when the application starts??

Hey I swingfreak I tried doing that as you said but it didnt work...probably I did it wrong...I dont know....If you give me an example plz. mail me at [email protected]

  • How can I delete a character while typing on the iPad?

Is there a way to delete a character to the right of the cursor, instead of having to place the cursor to the right of the character you want to delete and then hitting the backspace key? It's a real pain to try to locate a cursor just to the right of a character sometimes. I'm not encouraged - haven't seen anything suggesting this feature's available - but figured it's worth asking, as Apple may fix something like this in an update.
Thanks in advance for any help.

How would it be less of a pain to locate the cursor just to the left of a character so that you can delete in the direction you are asking?

  • How do I uncheck "Check spelling while typing" forever?

Hi, when writing in some applications such as text edit it automatically does a spelling check and underlines the words that are not spelled correctly with red. And every time I write something I uncheck this, because I type in both English, Swedish, slang... Etc. I just don't want this function. But then when I quit the application and restarts it, this option is checked once again. I can't seem to get it to be unchecked forever. I JUST DON'T WANT THIS FUNCTION!
    Any help would be appreciated.

I disabled this as well, and it stays disabled. If you went to TextEdit->Preferences and unchecked the "Check spelling as you type" and also "Check grammar with spelling" then closed the preference, the plist file should be altered. After you have done this, check the plist file:
    /Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/com.apple.TextEdit.plist
It should show "Date Modified" as being the time when you do the alteration. Also, you might do a GetInfo on the file and see what the Sharing&Permissions say. They should be
    yourname=Read & Write
    everyone=No Access
If all that is true but it still isn't working, you could try tossing the plist file, relaunch TextEdit, and reset the preferences. A new plist file should be created.
Finally, I have seen cases where people having File Vault active have problems with plists not functioning correctly, and being reset to default behaviors after shutdown and restart.

  • How to stop mouse pointer from being included on screenshots

Hey guys I was hoping someone could help me with this problem.
I am creating a software simulation and have decided to use Captivate 6.  When capturing the appropriate screenshots i have noticed that the mouse pointer is being included with these. I DO NOT want the mouse pointer to be included within the screenshot.
I know how to disable the mouse pointer when setting my preferences before creaing the simulation, however, the mouse pointer is still being included in the screenshots. Here is an example below.. Can anyone help me?
    Thanks,
    Garrett
Example: I orginally wanted to show the user's log in menu, but once I clicked "Login" the mouse pointer stuck to the screenshot. I don't want this mouse pointer to be there

I actually chose Demo and assessment.  The mouse is not what I want to see in the slides. The timeline does not show a mouse at all because I have that functionality disabled. What I really want is to essentially replicate an application. I want the user to be able to start this captivate project from a flash drive and actually have the applications GUI with limited functionality (for training purposes). I am starting to think there is a problem with the application I am trying to replicate. I have a software product that I must start on a virtual machine. Once the virtual machine is up and running then can I actually start the application. I have already done two of these with different applications and had no problem at all with the mouse pointer disappearing. This one, however, is being very difficult. Maybe its because im using QNX?

  • When mouse pointer changes from arrow to cursor it starts to flicker

I am running Windows 7 on a Toshiba laptop (P500-ST5807).
When the mouse pointer changes from arrow to cursor it starts to flicker. The problem seemed to start after I clicked "hide pointer while typing". I tried unchecking "hide pointer while typing" but this did not correct the problem. I have also tried adjusting the touchpad settings to less sensitive -- this did not help either. I have searched the internet and all types of "cursor flicker" seems to be a common problem.
Would anyone have a simple solution?
Thanks in advance for your help,

  • Need Mouse Coordinates While Zooming

I want to annotate the current coordinates of the mouse pointer while the user is rubberbanding to do a zoom. MouseMove would work if I could figure out how to convert the OLE_XPOS_PIXELS coordinates to the Axes coordinates.
Why doesn't mousemove give Axes coordinates? What is the conversion to Axes coordinates?

As you can see, the graph does not support this particular request. In this case, when you are zooming, there is no way you can calculate the coordinates in relation to the axes. You have seen we simply get the pixel points. With this method, you could use the MouseMove command to calibrate your pixels, or in other words, see how many pixels high and long the actual graph window is, and then do scaling calculations in accordance with the min and max values of the x and y axes. This however will not be all that precise, as it is limited by the size of a pixel, and the scaling settings of the graph.
A better way is to change the graph track mode to cwGTrackAllEvents from the zoom mode you were in. cwGTrackAllEvents mode allows you to use the PlotAreaMouseDown and Pl
otAreaMouseUp. These two report back the XPos and YPos in terms of the axes coordinates. Then you can output these to display for the user. At the MouseDown event, you can set the Xmin and Ymax values, and at the MouseUp, set the Xmax and YMin values. This of course means you always do the zooming from upper left to lower right. The only drawback to this method is that you never view the "rubber band", as this is a zoom feature, and is immediately lost in the cwGTrackAllEvents. Hope this solves it for you.

  • IWork  Pages ect. spell check while typing.

When I am using Pages, or any other program if I miss spell a word it gets underlined while I am typing. How do I make the correction while typing ? In other programs that I have used you would just dbl clicking the word and pick from a list of words to correct it. Is there a way that I can set up the spell checker to do this type of correction while typing ? I have the "Check Spelling While Typing" and "Correct Spelling Automatically" checked off to work.
    Thnx for any help.

    Hmmm, those settings should work.
Without Pages Running, move this file to the Desktop for now...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iWork.Pages.plist
Reopen Pages, set those settings again & test.
