How do I hide or delete a deferred update?

I acidentally deferred an update that I meant to hide. I cannot figure out how to hide or delete it from the deferred list in System Update (latest version). This is on a T500 2081 running Vista 64.

Anyway, as first it's needed to define, what exactly you mean with "hide defered updates"?
Here is the situation, that is happeneing when using TVSU:
- once you start TVSU and defer, or update your system using some updates, then these updates are stored and downloaded to following direction:
%programfiles%\Lenovo\System Update\session
There you surelly see multiple folders, that are the same, as the name of the update package.
Ok, now you downoad an update with the defered option. So what happens is that this file is downloaded into this location. Now if you forget to install this deffered update and in meantime a new version of this particular update will be released, then you can start TVSU and again deffer this same update (but with newer version). In this situation, the old version will be no longer seen and you will have only the latest version visible, BUT the older version will not be deleted. It will still reside in the above mentioned location.
Please specify, what exactly you want to achieve.

This works for apps you've acquired, but does not work for built-in features. I am regularly nagged to update Digital Camera RAW Compatibility (currently I'm being nagged about Update 6.03). I've tried the method described above - the steps are available, but they appear to have no effect. I think this is perhaps because RAW compatibility is an element of OSX rather than a separate app. I don't use RAW format with cameras, and have no need for this feature. How to either hide or delete specific computer files Time Machine

Hi i have a MBP late 2011 with 10.8.2 on it, and i use a time capsule to store a large amount of files that i use on both my mac and my windows 7 laptops. I am getting annoyed by all the unnessicary or junk files placed in all my stuff such as:
.ini
thumbs.db
.AppleDouble
.DS_Store
:2e*
I would like it so i just dont see these files on either my windows 7 computer or my mac. I have my folder options on my windows 7 laptop set to hide hidden files. Is there a way to set these files to be hidden on a PC? If not is there an application on either windows 7 or mac that can clean these files from my time capsule? I know how to use terminal and CMD well enough to do a step by step.... Also i know how to change windows registry on windows 7.
Summary:
Time Capsule used by both Windows 7 PC and MBP
Time Capsule is FULL of operating system files listed above
I want to hide or delete all of these files from existence on the time capsule for BOTH my Mac and my Windows 7 computers
If hiding them on windows/mac i would like to do this once and forever hold my peace
if deleting them it would be easier on me if there were either a Mac or Windows application or progaram that will do it
I can use CMD and Terminal very well, you wouldnt need to explain how to open them or such, just say a brief step by step.. Such as: 1) open terminal 2) "insert promt here" )3" next promt/ input"
On windows i have used Windows Registry many times to edit and tweak thingsdont have to explain anything- just post which Hikey to go to, what to search and then what to edit

You cannot delete those files.. they are OS files, and created by the OS to track changes etc.
The Mac by default should not show hidden files. I am not sure why you are showing them unless you turned that on at some point.

That includes the command to turn off show hidden files.
As for windows, the Unix type file marking will be completely unknown to explorer.. so you would have to go through each file type to hide extension. Windows by default nowadays does hide extensions.. if that is not working then I suspect it cannot actually recognise it.

The only safe way of doing it is by using the Redaction tool. You can do it manually, or you can use the Search and Remove Text function.
Of course, for the latter you'll have to first run Recognize Text on the file to convert the scanned text into "real" text.
You can find the Redaction tools under Tools - Protection.

This has come up before, and after some experimentation, there's not a straightforward way to do it.
There are two possible solutions that I can think of:
1. Write your own custom bean and/or extend the beans provided to modify them to your needs.
2. Wait for the 3.2 release at the end of the month. This release provides custom data tags with much finer grained control over specific items such as the buttons.
I think 2 is preferable, if you have the time to wait.

You can't really "hide" content within the iTunes interface, though at a push you could mislabel some of your Music tracks as Audiobooks if you don't mind the wrong content showing up in that section of the library.
Perhaps if you tell us the primary reason for wanting to hide things we might be able to suggest an alternative approach.

Hi there,
I have an ODS with 400 Char - they are options on a part. For each option there is only a value of Y or N.
When I run a query I want to hide or delete all characteristics that are equal to N (I don't want to show the characteristic or the value so really want to hide or delete the row).
Is there a way of doing this in BEX?
Should I do this in data load and delete all Char equal to N, if so what would be the code?
Have tried to filter and restrict etc but that is not going to work
Am struggling to find a solution

Tried your code but it deleted whole row I only want to delete the N's from the InfoObject.
I have a primary key Works Order

When I produce query (source: ODS) it is displayed as

So for W/O 123 I would only want to see Rad in the query, only values equal to Y
I don't mind putting code in the start routine but am unsure what the code should be.
I tried to use exclude in the query but it is not working

How can I hide a text label as I would a control or indicator?

As I have multiple indicators that must have the same identifier to the operator I can not use the indicator label as the items identifier. At times I want to hide the indicator and label. How can I hide the label? Please recall a text label just sits on the front panel as desired. It isn't within a raised or lowered box. In the attached sample I would like to hide "MyLabel" when the date indicator is hidden.

Here�s a way. Its a little involved, but it will work:
1. Customize a control or indicator to remove the border (I used a string control)
a. Right click on the control or indicator, go to �Advanced � Customize�
b. Click on the wrench on the tool bar to enter edit mode
c. Select the border and drag it off to the side
d. Reduce the size of the border to a single pixel (it won�t let you delete it)
e. Rubber band a box around the 1 pixel border to select it and use the cursor keys to move it within the �white space� of the string control. It will effectively disappear. You will NOT be able to move it with the mouse as LV will try to resize the border instead of moving it.
f. Using the color tools �suck up� the background color of your vi and �paint� i
t into the white space of the control.
g. Make the control the correct size to hide your label(s). Make sure it is right as you will NOT be able to resize the control outside of the �customize� function (i.e.: while on your front panel)
h. Click on the tweezers to go back to customize mode.
i. Give your control a descriptive name
j. Right click on the control, go to �Visible Items� and uncheck �label� to hide the label.
k. Save your new control
2. Back on your front panel, place your new control over what you want to hide and programmatically make it visible or invisible as desired.
I have included a copy of your original vi, modified to hide and unhide your label. I have also included the customized string control that accomplishes this. You may resize the control as needed by �customizing it as described above.
The only disadvantage to this method is that if you want to hide multiple labels they must be in the same area of the front panel. Otherwise you must have seve
ral �hiding� controls.
An advantage is that you will not have to make the original control or indicator (i.e.: the date indicator) visible or invisible as it can be hidden as well.
Hope this does what you want.

How can I hide file names in a photostream?

How can I hide file names in a shared photo stream on icloud. I don't want people to see how many pictures I take at an event. Can this be done to pictures already posted?

The Shared Photo Stream uses the filename of the original image file as the title that is shown in the stream. If you want to hide the original filename, export the image to a folder in the Finder, rename it, then reimport it to share it. You can rename the files directly when exporting.
Or, if you do not mind to change the names of the originals in Aperture use the command "Metadata > Batch change" and change the title of the image, with the option "Apply to Original file" enabled and "Add metadata from" set to "None".
To rename the photos already shared, delete them from the Shared Album and share them again.

How to Get a list of pending deferred tasks

there is a bunch of unfinished threads here asking how to get a list/report of deferred tasks that are associated with user objects and scheduled for future execution.
I need this list and I can't find out how to get it anyway.
I don't care if it's a SJSIM report, a database query or a SJSIM log mining exercise.
Does anyone know how to do this?
My org has just gone live with SJSIM and I want to report on the number of legacy resource accounts that have had deferred tasks created against them for future disabling/deletion (our consultants added this workflow based on rules with an email warning, a disabling deferred task set for 2 weeks from now and a deleting deferred task for 6 months after that). Hopefully I can say "look, 5,000 legacy accounts are going to be cleaned up!
