How Can i get my ipod Video 60gb to play on my XBOX 360???

she only needs to do that if he needs to change the format. For example if she recorded the clips via her  phone and it's not in a format iTunes will play.  For example if I have a .wmv iTunes won't touch it until I convert it. She could also be talking about video that she recorded on a DVD camcorder that burns the video to a DVD not a memory card. ITunes doesn't convert everything.
She's transfered the clips to her ipad and the ipad won't play them. So she needs to get them to a m4v or mp4, and you use format converters for that. Not apps but something on the computer.

try this. you could have found the same thing by typing your subject into the search instead of a post.
you'll get about 2.5 hrs of video play if you manage your battery well.

  • How to erase data on ipod video

how to erase all my data on my ipod so no one can recover it?

The only thing you can do is to restore the iPod.
See: How to restore the iPod to factory settings.
    This will erase the contents.
However, anyone with any technical know how and a good data recovery program might be able to recover some if not all the data from the iPods hd.
There are disk wiping utilities and programs available that will greatly improve the chances that your data cannot be recovered, although I have no direct experience of these.

  • If i got a new computer how do i hook my ipod to the computer to it safely

in the past i have connected my ipod with an old itunes on it and the hardware on the itunes crashed and i had to get a new ipod. now i have a new computer and it has never been hooked up to my ipod. the computer has a different itunes version than the ipod and i am worried if i hook it up it will crash the hardware as well, but i really want to import some new music.
    any help?

You can de-authorise the old computer from the store menu in iTunes on that computer.
You can't de-authorise just the computers you no longer have access to.
Your only option is to de-authorise all your computers and then re-authorise those you wish to be authorised. You can do this by logging into your account settings in iTunes on your computer (Store > View My ID) and selecting the option to de-authorise all.
Please note however, you are only permitted to do this once in each 12 month period, therefore you would be better de-authorising your computers before you lose access to them. you can do this from the 'Store' menu in iTunes.
To copy your library to your iPad! connect it by USB, select it from the device list in iTunes and check the items you want to sync, then select sync.

  • Connecting iPod/video to TV in Japan

I'll be traveling to Japan at the end of next month. Does anyone know anything about hooking an iPod video up to a Japanese television? I may be too exhausted from sightseeing to bother but it would be nice to know. Is it even possible?
I have an AV kit, random other cables and necessary charging apparatus.
    Thanks

Apple has done such a great job with the iPod that it is easy to forgot how complex the entire system is. The hardware is the easy part, it is the software that's really complex. iTunes catalogs our music and lets us arrange our playlists but it also keeps track of authorized music, play counts, songs skipped, and all the other things that the iPod and iTunes keep track of together. Others have designed credible mp3 players (Sans Disk for example) but no one has put together anything that can rival the iPod<->iTunes<->iTunes Store.
Which brings me to the point of this post. When something goes wrong it can be difficult to determine just what the problem is. When someone's iPod fails to sync, the quick conclusion people tend to reach is that there's something wrong with the iPod, but as you discovered that isn't necessarily the case. A failure to sync can be hardware related (iPod, computer, cable) or software releated (iPod, computer, iTunes) and unfortunately we don't always get an error message that pinpoints the problem.
In your case the problem was with music on your computer's hard drive. If you haven't already done so, I'd urge you to run a disk diagnostic and if possible back up your music. There are two possibilities: those songs have always been defective on that computer and you just now discovered it, or, those songs were okay and have 'died' since the last time you played them. If the former is true you'll want to check out the songs you added at the same time and/or from the same source. If the latter, you may have some serious hard drive issues developing.

  • 2 Ipods (video and nano) on one computer.  HOW?

I have a video ipod and a nano. I am trying to get them to share the same library, but am not having any luck. Can anyone let me know how to do this. The video ipod was originally set up on a different library (windows). I de-authorized it, but it won't sync. Will I lose all existing purchased music/videos in the process?

Each of you should create a separate playlist, with only the music you want.
Then open iTunes prefs -> iPod and set it to Automatically update only selected playlists.

  • How do I get songs from iPod(video) to iTunes(7 and using VISTA).

How do I get songs from iPod(video) to iTunes(i'm using iTunes7 and Vista).
I don't have the disc, cause i can't find it. But my computer downloaded the ipod, it just cant find the files?
i've been looking through the topics for the past hour and none of them helped. Maybe i'm stupid i dont really know, but i've restored my old computer a couple times and i found a post and it helped both times. now i can't find it anymore.
THIS IS THE ONE I'VE BEEN SEEING AND IT DOESN'T HELP ME ONE BIT:
Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod to a computer
The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:
Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    Comparison of iPod managers
    TuneJack Windows Only
    iPod2PC Windows Only
    iGadget Windows Only
    iDump Windows Only
    SharePod Windows Only
    iPodRip Mac & Windows
    YamiPod Mac and Windows
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.
Can someone give me a link, or tell me one that shows step by step.

Here is a way of doing it, for another take on this, search the forum for posts by Zevoneer.
    Copy from iPod to PC
It is important not to allow your iPod to sync with an empty library. If it is set to synchronise automatically you will get a message saying your iPod is linked to a different library and asking if you want to sync – it is important to press cancel as syncing with an empty library erases all music from your iPod.
You can also prevent auto sync by holding down shift & ctrl as you plug in your iPod and keeping the keys held down until the iPod appears in iTunes.
Once you are connected, you need to set your iPod to manage music manually.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61148
If you have an iPod with iTunes Store purchases on it, you can use it to copy your purchases to other authorized computers.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iTunesWin/7.3/en/2586win.html
However this is not allowed for other music.
This MacMuse tip tells you how to copy music from your iPod using Windows Explorer, but it is a bit fiddly:
    http://discussions.apple.com/messageview.jspa?messageID=797432
Otherwise you can use third party software to manage the transfer, there are a variety of programs out there, some free and some that will copy ratings and counts as well as the music files. Here is a selection, check them out and see what suits you.

  • My computer died. I do not want to loose one video on my iPod, how can I  use the iPod  on another computer? Please help!

please advise how I can put my iPod on another computer, my old one died a slow death.  There is one short video on my iPod that can't  be replaced.

    - What is the source of the videos? If taken by the iPod you can transfer them to the new computer by:
Copying personal photos and videos from iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer
    - If they were iTunes purchases by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
    - If they were synced to the iPod and not iTunes purchases then you need a third-party program like TouchCopy or PhoneView.

How can I hook up the camera with fire wire out to the USB in on the new 13 inch MB?

There is no option/accessory to do this. You'll need to get a different camera, or use a computer with firewire.

  • How do i add photos in my Ipod Video?

How do i add photos in my Ipod Video and View them?

Can you just open your ipod like a hard drive and put photos in the folder named Photo
You need to let iTunes handle the transfer in order for the pictures to be viewable on the iPod. iTunes creates specially sized preview images and organizes the pictures & previews as it does for music files. If you put the pictures on manually through Windows Explorer and the iPod hard disk "interface", then you can retrieve the pictures on another computer. But the pictures won't display on the iPod.

  • How do I copy music and video from my iPod to a new PC?

My itunes PC no longer works.  How can I copy music and video from my iPod to a new PC?

You can't transfer music from an iPod to a PC.  Apple do not provide that facility.  It can be done with third party software though.  There are a variety of these available though so search google for 'ipod to itunes'.

I just got my ipod video, and i have already a ipod mini and i want to keep it. How do I use the same itunes for both? Do i have to register both and how?

use the CD you got with your new ipod and register it etc.
then make sure you have itunes 6 with video, podcasts etc.
    (free download at apple.ca)
your ipod mini will work on here too, it just wont be able to upload any of the videos/photos
and your new ipod should work too (once you have the new software)
you can share itunes with both of these and it'll work
