The shuffle control shows up when you touch the screen in album view. This brings up the scrubber bar, repeat control and shuffle control. The shuffle control appears as crossed arrows. When it is blue it is On. When it is white it is Off.

It works flawlessly to write however when I rest my hand on the screen (to write) it recognizes my hand as one point and the stylus pen as the other and the pinch feature makes my screen big or small. It's not possible, it doesn't use pressure on the screen to sense your stylus or hand, it uses the sensor array around the screen.

How can I turn off the Illustrator CC 2014 hello screen permanently?

I just upgraded to Illustrator CC 2014, and I'm somewhat baffled by the apparent inability to turn off the hello screen. Maybe it's easy, but I don't see how to do it.
Under the "Help" menu I do see a check mark beside "Hello...", but clicking it does not turn the hello screen off. When I shut down the screen using the red x in the panel's upper left corner, it does go away, and it can be turned back on using the "Help" menu entry. I just don't want it to appear... ever. I'd love to be able to use Illustrator the way I want to and not feel the need to close that superfluous panel every time I open the software.

@ThePorge - are you sure you're looking at the bottom of the "Getting Started", "New Features", or "Tips & Techniques" panel? You'll need to scroll down to the bottom of them to see the footer where this checkbox is located. (Its not in the Create panel at all.) If you can't find it, its possible the software thinks you're a trial user for some reason. Do you see a Days Left in Your Trial countdown in the upper right corner of the Welcome screen? That would indicate it thinks you're a trial user. Can you attach a screen shot?

How do I turn off the "scaling" feature in images?

I'm on Photoshop CS4. With the older version, I was able to select Image > Image Size, and then edit the size and resolution without any problem. If I chose a width of 4-inches, for example, it would automatically set the height to maintain that proportion. I would save the file, and then import into my layout program with that sizing intact.
For some reason, something has changed and I dont' know why. Now when I go to that menu, if I adjust the resolution and set the size that I want, when I import the file into my layout program (QuarkXpress), the image is HUGE....the same size it was originally. It's as if the sizing that I chose did not stick and is only recognized within Photoshop. In the file description bar within Photoshop (the one where you can click the X to close the file), it says that it is being "scaled." How do I turn that off? What is the problem? I didn't have this problem until today and I can't figure out what I accidentally did.

I am trying to figure out how to turn off the feature of the select tool in Acrobat which auto-completes words of my text selections. This feature is a huge nuisance while trying to select code in my textbooks and has caused me to mis-copy examples many times.

The smartness I am referring to is when I try to select text Acrobat will attempt to automatically select the entire word (I can reverse the whole word selection by selecting back one character then going forward, but when I reach the first character of the next word Acrobat will again try to select the entire word). Worse is when I am trying to select text starting in the middle of a word, Acrobat will automatically select the entire word when I get to the last character.
In another program this option is disabled by a clearing the checkbox "When selecting, automatically select the entire word".
I've found an alternative PDF solution which does not have this nuisance, however, this is not an ideal solution...

So I just downloaded IOS7 and have disabled the weird parallax effect. Now the next thing to disable is that horrible zoom -- you know, like when you go back to the "Home" screen from an application and everything "flies" into place. Can someone help me make it go away?

I've turned on BOLD TEXT and turned on REDUCE MOTION but for me it feels like more than just the zooms in and out... I'm getting sick just reading emails and texts or just glancing at the lock screen. It's intant nausea. The only thing I can think of is that it's something to do with refresh rate or frequency of the screen.
I thought I'd just get used to it but it has not subsided. I only hope I don't have to resort to backgrading to iOS 6 or worse, moving to a different brand of phone.

To disable that feature it will depend on whether or not you sync everything in the cloud using Apple's iCloud, OR if you both use the same desktop/laptop computer with iTunes.
