The system on my '08 13" macbook (10.6.8) failed a compliance scan done by a credible credit card processing co. This is for my small business to make sure my customers info is secure.
This is what they reported:

Remote Access Software:HTTP service (WSTL CPE 1.0) running on WAP
No help from their tech support or my server. I tried to find the port in Little Snitch, looked all around in system preferences & Googled it with no results.
Any help will be much appreciated.

This port might be open in the modem to allow the ISP to push updates. It is not actually a port open on your computer.. the fact that it returns as open is irrelevant. But talk to your ISP if you need it shut for running higher security card processing.

You havn't "Byte at TCPIP port".
if you developp a protocol, one soltion, is to send the size to read.

I believe Solaris 9 also has RBAC control. If so then all you need to do is present the uid with the PRIV_NET_PRIVADDR privilege. See the privielegs(5) manpage for more information on the subject.
This privilege will allow the userid to bind to ports < 1024. You can give a user this privilege either by using usermod (you will probably need the auth_attr(4) manpage as well) after which you need to login again. Or you can try using ppriv to modify the privileges on the users shell.

So how do I use software or applications with a lot of data like Quicken under my own user account? I wanted to be able to manage my own itunes library, iphone apps, messages. But I still really need to use the Stuff I have in Quicken essentials. I don't want to have to restart all my work done in Quicken already.

I haven't used Quicken in a while, but most applications store your files in your Documents folder. Is that where your Quicken data file is? What you do next depends on how many family members need to get at that data.
If multiple family members need to use the Quicken data file, try moving it to the Documents folder in the Shared account. That is an account that all accounts can see. It's at the same level as the other accounts. In other words, Shared is one level up from your Home account, or Hard Drive/Users/Shared.
If you're the only one allowed to see that Quicken data, move the Quicken data file from the old main account to your account, and don't leave a copy behind. You can use the Shared folder as a way station for the transfer since you won't be able to see both accounts' Documents folders at the same time (because you're not allowed to peek into other people's accounts). Or you can use another disk or server for the transfer, as long as you can get to it when logged into either account.

In Logic Pro 9, how many midi controlled software instruments do you get...?

In Logic Pro 9, how many midi controlled software instruments do you get and is there possibility to download more as it says 40 on the programs info on the Mac Store, as i intend to compose on it but with only 40 instruments it's not really worth it.
So i was just wondering whether it let you download more for free.

Can you Please tell how to install a software SQL Server 2012 from the Host to my Guest OS Windows Server 2008R2 in my Virtual Machine? I am using VMPlayer and have already created a VM using the Windows Server 2008R2.
I just need help in installing another software (SQLServer2012) from my laptop(guest computer) to my host VM. I also have the files downloaded into my C drive of my laptop(hostcomputer) for the SQL Server 2012. But I am lost as to where to click to install
this software to my VM.

I just received my IdeaPad S10. How do I install software from a cd-rom onto it? I tried putting my cd-rom in my regular laptop and copying it onto a flash drive and then copying it to the IdeaPad. The installation starts, then I get a message that installation has stopped because the installation has been corrupted. Any easy ways to install software?

Here's what you can do.
Download virtual Clone drive (freeware) from here http://www.slysoft.com/en/download.html install it on your S10.
Now on your destop, make a backup ISO of your software CD or DVD.
I use this http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm it integrates with explorer on the right click menu. There are other solutions also.
Once your ISO is created you can copy it to your S10 via network, usb key, etc, and mount it as a drive letter with Virtual CLone drive.

Seriously, you need to copy the files on to your Mac and then transfer them to the appropriate app on the iPad. This is the procedure for DATA files.
"Office for Mac" is a group of applications written for the Mac and will NOT function on an iPad. Consequently, there is no way that you can get it onto the iPad.

How to use the software?

I installed the versio that could detect the daq http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/2214/lang/en.
When I open the softare "Measurement & Automation" I see four categories.
1)data neighborhood
2)device and interface
3)scales
4)software
I go to device and interface -> create -> device and interface -> Network Ni-DAQmx devices. No device found.
Further testing
When I drop down the device and interface menu there's three categories:
1)NI PCI-MIO-16E-4 "Dev1"
2)network devices
3) pxi system unidentified
I click on NI PCI-MIO-16E-4 "Dev1" and there's 3 devices found.
a) Serial Number value 0x13A9CDB
b) socket Number value 0x6
c) Bus Number value 0x4
All 3 devices pass the selftest. Then I pull out the daq from my computer, then it fail the self-test. So my conclusion is the 3 number must indicate the daq I have in my computer.
So i right click a) and create task. It direct me to the ports. However my LED won't lid on!!!! )=

Ok, so anyways right now I confirmed that the software did detect the 6040E. How I do it?
I go to devices and interface and do self test. However, when I pull the 6040E out from my cmoputer, selftest, calibration, reset and all other functions become not avalible.
I have the 6040E connected to BNC-2090. I went to properties -> accessory and select BNC-2090 as well.
Physical set up.
So right now I have a simple LED, powered by +5V, grounded to GND, and connected to DIO port 07 in the BNC 2090.
Software Setup
Generate signals -> didital output -> lint output -> port 0/line7
For th egneration mode i choosed 1 sample(On Demand)
then I run it. Led not on )=. I can't choose any other options as it will give me error given below:

I’ve owned Macs since 1990 (IICX my first), mostly desktops. Having had DVD/CD drives in all my previous laptop Macs since 2001 - (2) G4 Powerbooks, A 17” Mac Book Pro - and also inspecting a friend’s year-old Mac Book Pro which had the DVD slot - unless someone told me at purchase, I had no reason to know that the Retina display version of the 15” had NO DVD drive. ANYHOW, I fully intended to buy the non-Retina display version, because it was cheaper. Unfortunately by the time I got to the Apple store they were no longer selling the non-Retina display version; all versions were ONLY with the Retina display. And the fine distinction of a DVD vs. a non-DVD drive was not pointed out. So now I have to shell out an additional $80 bucks for an external SuperDrive.

If the iTunes purchases are not in your iTunes library you can redownload them by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If you restore from backup, not that synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup and thus if those items are not in the iTunes library they can't be restored to the iPod during the latter part of the restore process.

Where do I find help on how to use a software?

Recently I've purchased a ZIP software through App Store - (Smart Zipper Pro). I have never used one of these programs and now have a large file to send to a customer. I found no customer support nor directions on the use of it.
I will appreciate there is someone that could help me understanding how to use this software. I have tried different alternatives but files seems to have the same size as the original. There is no compression.
Your help on this subject will be greatly appreciated.

If you both have High-speed connections, the easiest & fastest way is through Dropbox.
I send all my large/huge files this way instead of using email.
iChat has the same ability of transferring large files as Dropbox but is slower.
Adium has file transfers.
Yahoo Messenger has file transfers.
If you must use email, check out YouSendIt and TransferBIGFiles for large & small file transfers.
MediaFire is another file transfer site.
