How do I identify the songs in my Library that are still in .wav format?

Probably about 1/4 of the songs that I have loaded into my iPod are still in .wav format, and I need to convert them to .acc to free up some space. Is there an easy way to identify what songs are in .wav so that I can convert them all at once, or do I have to go song by song with "Get Info" to find out which ones are still .wav?

Goto the main library in itunes.
Now goto edit>view options and select "Kind"
You should now see this header in the main library. Hit the header once to have the list organized by kind. Roll down to the first sone that is WAV and highlight it. Now roll down to the last listing of WAV hold the shift key and select/highlight it. THis should highlight all the WAV files. Let go of any keys, rightclick and select "Convert to AAC".
This will make COPIES of all songs in AAC format. Go back and repeat the steps of highlighting the WAV files and hit the Del key on the keyboard, this should remove the listing from iTUnes AND offer you the option to move these files to the recycle bin

    jaypogi,
    Welcome to Discussions.
    Use one of these scripts:
Not In Any Playlist creates a text file listing of those songs.
Not In Any Playlist To Playlist puts them in a playlist.
    Hope this helps.

You have to download the purchased music, because now you can only listen to purchased music from iCloud. See > http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519

  • How to play all the songs in my library

I have problems with the configuration of iTunes, it only play the songs that have the selection mark, and I don't know how to change the configuration in order to play all the songs in my library. Please, if someone know how to change this configuration, answer this message. Thanks!

There are several ways around this that work much better than unchecking stuff since you will still want to be able to play this in iTunes automatically.
One way is to manually manage the iPod...
    Managing content manually on iPod
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61148
which will let you simply drag into the iPod the stuff you want or select and delete from the iPod the stuff you want off. The downside of manual updating is that play counts and ratings you set in the iPod are not synced back to your library.
The other method is to use Playlists and Smart Playlists and set your iPod sync preferences to sync only the playlists you want. See this post of mine from earlier today that tells one way to set up a Smart Playlist to be just the right size for your iPod...

  • HT4914 how do you de-select songs from your library that you dont want as part of iTunes match?

i have over 36,000 songs in my Ttunes library.  iTunes match only allows 25,000.  there aer songs in my library that i dont need or want as part of iTunes match.  How do you delesect songs/tracks so that they are not part of the total library for iTunes match?  I want to still have the songs as part of my master library but not part of Itunes match so tht i can get in under the 25,000.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may also need to turn off automatic downloads.

Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Try syncing with iTunes

    Thats not entirely true.
I have an Audi car kit and it copies all contacts, missed/received/dialed numbers from the iPhone 3G to the cars system.
I can scroll through the contacts in the same way I can on the actual phone.
So it is possible to transfer the contacts via bluetooth but obviously this doesn't work with every manufacturer or bluetooth implementation.

  • How do I find the original I tunes library that my Ipod is sycned too?

We have been having problems with our computer and when we have got it back I have downloaded the latest version of Itunes. However when I put in my I pod to sync with it tells me that my ipod is already synced with another i tune library and it will only let me transfer the songs I have purchased from Itunes to the new library. Our I pod has all our CDs on it (which we no longer have) so how would I get them to the new library or even better how do I find our original library that we synced the I pod with?
Also last night I purchased 4 tunes from I tunes and they are not transferring to the I pod when it is connected?
    Help

    Hi DonTimo,
I've tried doing that, but in the said folder there are only default pictures. I can't find the images of any contacts in the app "Contacts" anywhere. The thread you refered me to and many others that are smilar to it, date back to about 2009-2010.
Really need this photo.  Any other pointers?

  • How can I play my songs from my iPod that are no longer in my computer

When I go to my iPod under devices and click "Music" it shows all the songs I have on my iPod but it's all grayed out and I can not play them from here. Now at first I thought you just couldn't do it but my brother for some reason can... None of his songs are grayed out and they let him play it straight from his ipod.

he is manually managing his ipod song list
where as i am assuming you syncing your music automatically, if you change to manual management you will lose all of your music and have to resync it.

  • I there a way to view songs in my library that are not associated with a playl

i have alot of songs and while most of them are already in playlists some are not and i need a quick way to see which playlists i need to create and be able to quickly find the files. i was looking for a way to do this with auto playlists but haven't found a way yet. does anyone know how i could acei've this with wmp 0 or perhaps an add on?

Thanks Michael... your reply/suggestion is most helpful. I have purchased a lot of songs/albums today from iTunes and wanted to add them to my custom playlists. This will help me identify the purchased songs easily. Cheers!

  • Not seeing songs on my pc that are still on my ipod...

Hi... Little help please.. I updated the version of my ipod recently, but there's a strange problem. I have songs on the Ipod that arent in my pc's library. I also have 3 or 4 versions of the songs I have on the pc. (a song will show on my library 3 or 4 times..) anyone offer some suggestions? i dont want to lose the songs i have on the ipod...

What had happened was that I had songs that were on my computer in Itunes, my daughter had moved some files around on her computer, and then we ended up losing the songs in itunes. The songs were still on the ipod itself, but once i plugged it in to the pc, they were lost. Final outcome = songs lost, I'm SOL. thanks anyways. I should have been more clear in my descriotion, but im not very savvy with computers. chaliking this one up to experience.

  • This might seem minor, but in Screen saver, how do you change the photos from your iPhoto that are those predetermined files on System Preferences?

I am trying to get new photos or images into the files (or whatever they are) on Screensaver that load when you screen saver becomes active. How exactly do you do that?

"If the screen saver doesn’t have an installer, drag it to /Library/Screen Savers at the top level of your internal disk. This makes the screen saver available to all users. If you want it available only to a specific user, drag it to the Library folder in that user’s home folder (the one with the user’s name)." was in the Installing and Uninstalling Screen Savers section.
A quick look around showed me that System (System/Library/Screen Savers) also holds some of the Apple images.
