How do i import 480x360 ipad video into fce?

I'm trying to import video from my ipad into fce. Is there a way to set up my sequence with 480x360 parameters? I'd rather not have to render it when bringing it in.
Thanks,
Bob

" Is there a way to set up my sequence with 480x360 parameters?"
No.
That size should be transcoded to a size that is the same as an FCE Easy Setup.
I'd use a DV Easy Setup.

  • How Best to Import iPhone 4 video into Premier Pro CS5 - Settings for new import "sequence preset"?

Shooting video with my iPhone 4 (ATT version) and am trying to import file into Premiere Pro CS5 (5.0.3) running on Macintosh OS 10.6.6.
The problem is that I am simply guessing on how to import sequence, and the result is that I am getting motion artifacts and generally inferior quality.  I am using iMovie 11 as my basis for comparison.   Not surprisingly, iMovie 11 imports from iPhone beautifully, but when I've looked around inside of it for properties, there isn't much to see.
From using Apple's built in quicktime "inspector,"  it is possible to see that iPhone4 video has following properties:

Seeking advice on how to smoothly and *losslessly* import/ingest iphone4 footage into PPro CS5.  (I am not worried about exporting for iPhone display, which is what most of the information I can find relates to).
    Thanks in advance,  Michael

    Wow.  Thanks Colin.
When I follow your approach, I don't get the same "sequence preset" dialog box popping up.
FU question, though, the motion is frequently jagged.  Is there a way to smooth out/increase the quality of the rendering?    I have 16gb ram, Mac Pro.   which is able to handle iPhone video rending fine in quicktime.   (I've tried rendering for "performance" and "memory" but both seem to produce, eh results.).

  • Re user tip: How can I import a homemade DVD into iMovie for editing? - I've followed instructions so far so good, until I get to "You can then FILE/EXPORT USING QUICKTIME and choose Apple Intermediate Codec as your video codec. "  How do I do that?

Re AppleMan 1958 excellent user tip: How can I import a homemade DVD into iMovie for editing? -
I've followed instructions with success until  "You can then FILE/EXPORT USING QUICKTIME and choose Apple Intermediate Codec as your video codec. "  How do I do that?
I installed MGEG Streamclip 193b8 and used their utility to install quicktimempeg2 and got a message stating it was successfully installed.  (I'm on latest Maverick 10.9.2 on iMac)  Then I dragged the VIDEO_TS file from my home DVD into the streamclip app.  It asked which of 4 files to use, and I selected the first one.  Streamclip played the video with the sound.  so far so good. but now I cannot figure how to use quicktime player 10.3 to export this vob file out of streamclip.

Thank you for your quick reply and for clearing up my confusion.  I'm exporting the first section now.  I choose the smallest size, 3x4 but I'd prefer to go higher as this DVD was originally a VHS home movie.  I'm wondering if after three conversions (VHS,->DVD->MPEG) the resolution will be so poor as to not support a larger size frame?  If it can, what size should I select when I export?

  • How to import a .mp4 video into Flash?

I have not been able to import an .mp4 video into flash 8.
The video simply doesn't show up in the import box

You can only import what's on your import file format type
    list.
Which is no mp4 for flash 8.

I am switching over from a PC to a MacBook Pro and an iPad.  How do I import my Outlook contacts into MacBook and iPad?

One option is forwarding your Outlook contacts as vCard files which can be imported by the Address Book on your Mac, followed by being synced with your iPad.
In Outlook, select all contacts and at the menu bar select forward as vCard. Each contact will be a separate vCard file. Send the email to an email account you are accessing with the Mail app on your Mac.
Save the attached vCard files in a folder created on your Desktop or in whichever chosen location for the folder. At the Address Book menu bar, go to File and select Import navigating to the folder that incudes the vCard files. Open the folder to select.

  • How do I get my iphoto videos into imovie

how do I get my iphoto video into imovie

1- on iphoto menu bar click FILE >> EXPORT and export it in ORIGINAL version to NEW EVENTS folder in MOVIES >> IMOVIE EVENTS >> NEW EVENTS
2- try to open the video you want with quicktime player.
IF IT OPENS WITH QUICKTIME PLAYER:
    - on imovie menu bar click FILE >> IMPORT and then import your movie. iMovie should convert it to a usable format which takes a few seconds and the your video will appear on the new event folder on the imovie screen (below "iphoto videos")
IF IT DOES NOT OPEN WITH QUICKTIME PLAYER:
    - download "MPEG streamclip" or "Handbrake" or any program to convert videos into mov. (i think that's the format quicktime player plays). Anyway, if you use MPEG STREAMCLIP, on the menu bar go FILE >> OPEN FILES >> open the file you want (remember it should be in the "new events" folder because you just put it there in step 1). The video will open on the screen.
    - still on MPEG streamclip, go on the menu bar and click FILE >> EXPORT TO QUICKTIME. This will convert the video automatically.
    - go back to imovie. On the menu bar click FILE >> IMPORT >> MOVIES and select your video from the new event folder.
This is what worked for me... I am no expert, it was all trial and error, but it worked in the end!

This feature is not available in the current version (15.1) of OneNote for Mac. You can request this feature via this page:

  • How do I import an MKV file into Premiere Pro CS6?

How do I import an MKV file into Premiere Pro CS6?

Premiere Pro CS6 doesn't support MKV formats. To import MKV to Premiere Pro CS6, a recommended solution is to convert MKV to AVI.
I've been reading so many different forums on how to convert MKV to AVI. Finally, I summarised three solutions:
First one: HandBrake . This tool is a free and open-source multi-threaded transcoding app. It supports nearly any videos including MKV format and has Mac version and Windows version.
    Cons:
    1. HandBrake is too professional to handle for most people;
    2. It doesn't support MOV as output format.
Second one: there are many third party software which supports converting MKV to AVI. I just test one of them. It's professional yet easy to use and the service is excellent. And there is a step by step guide about how to use this tool .
    Cons:
    1. Most of them are not free.
Third one: Online-Converter . This kind of converter does a great job on file conversion.
    Cons:
    1. Like most online converters, the free version of this tool only allows you to convert videos smaller than 100MB. It's too small for video conversion;
2.Your MKV video should be upload to the internet to be converted. This means the risk of pravite information leak is possible.

  • How do I import an iMove file into Toast 7?

How do I import an iMovie file into Toast 7? I have tried
the image file copy and the horizontal
    aliasing still is there.

I am not quite sure what you are trying to do since you mention copying an image file. Let's start with an iMovie project and you now want to encode it. You have a choice of programs to do the encoding, Toast being one of them. If the video is less than 2 hours, iDVD offers more options and does a great job encoding the movie too. I use both programs. If this is the process you are trying to follow, then Toast 7 allows you to drag the iMovie project file directly into the Toast window (after selecting the Video tab)and it will locate the right file to encode. Set the various options for menus, etc. and then go. Usually, it is best to Save As Disc Image, and then burn the DVDs later from the image file again with Toast using the Copy tab (copy image file selection). If I create the image file with iDVD, I still use Toast to burn the DVDs. Toast 7 works great with iMovie 5, but I have not used it with iMovie 6. There could be some incompatibilities.

  • How do I import my (many) videos so iMovie separates them by the date they orig. were made?

How do I import my (many) videos so iMovie separates them by the date they orig. were made?
(Like iPhoto does with photos) But not one at a time! If that is not possible with IMovie, can iTunes do that?
I want to import my videos from an external drive to my Mac Book Pro 10.8.3. Thank you so much for your time and patience.

    Hi Walter,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The article below will give you some insight as to how iMovie organizes video:
    iMovie '11: Organize your video
    Organize the Event Library
When you import video from your camera into iMovie, you name the video (called an Event), and then by default iMovie lists it in the Event Library by the date it was recorded.
To separate clips in the Event browser by the days they were recorded, choose View > “Show Separate Days in Events.”
You might want to do this if you have any Events that contain video that was recorded on more than one day. For example, an Event could have video recorded on New Year’s Eve and on New Year’s Day. To find specific clips more easily, you could separate the footage by date.
I hope this information helps ...

How do I import a wmv video from my PC to my Iphone 5S via Itunes?

iTunes and the iPhone do not support WMV files. You will first have to convert the video to an MPEG4 or H.264 format video.
Handbrake is free and should be able to do this, see https://handbrake.fr

  • How do I get analog hi 8 video into FCE?

I am trying to get hi 8 video into FCE (or iMovie HD). I have the hi 8 tape in a Hitachi D.S.P. III (digital signal processor) camcorder. This is connected to my Sony mini-DV digital camcorder. My camcorder has A/V>DV option. I have my camera connected to the computer via Firewire. Should I use the A/V>DV option to do this? I am not getting the sound from the hi 8 tape and the video looks bad. What am I doing wrong?
    Barbara

Well, I read everything in the manual and think I've done exactly what it says. When I connected to my computer, as I mentioned, the video was poor (perhaps tracking needed to be adjusted on the Hi 8 camcorder), but I don't understand why I didn't get any audio.
I also tried to connect the hi 8 camcorder directly to my DVR thinking I could burn it to a DVD and then extract from that to do more editing although I know the quality would not be as good. Again, when I tried to record, I got poor video quality and no sound. When I just play the hi 8 tape connected to my DVR, there definitely is sound and the video looks fine. I am at a loss--this is beyond my knowledge.
Thank you for your assistance, and if you have other suggestions, I would try them. However, the hi 8 camcorder and tape will not be available to me after tomorrow as my brother will be taking them back to Florida when he leaves Saturday. My only other thought is to record to a VHS tape and then I'm sure I can get that into my Sony camcorder because I've done that before. But, I sure would like to know how to make the other work right.
    Thanks very much!
    Barbara
