How do I import a CD into iTunes without a break between tracks?

I am looking to import cd's that do not have breaks between songs. Most electronica cd's are like this, but a live concert would be the same. When I pop a cd in my computer and import it into iTunes it turns it into individual tracks, with an abrupt break between songs instead of the continuous flow that the cd has. Does anyone know if there is a solution to this? App?

iTunes should be able to manage gapless playback of this kind of album. Mileage may vary, but it may help to clear (if set) and then set the Part of Gapless Album flag from the Options tab of Get Info. when the whole album is selected.
If you really want to rip the CD as a single track, select the tracks and then use Advanced > Join CD Tracks before importing the CD.

You use MPEG Streamclip to convert them to MPEG-4 and import those. This may require Perian or not be possible.

I created a playlist on my iPhone. Now I want to import that playlist to iTunes. It's not automatically synced. Not to mention, when I export the playlist (right click, select export) and then drag that playlist into my iTunes playlist list it's blank... I need help. This should be eaiser than this.

I was having the same problem and after some research online I found this and it worked:
1. Plug your iPhone into iTunes.
2. Right- or ctrl-click on the name of the iPhone playlist you want
3. Select Export...
4. Change the format to XML and save
5. In iTunes go to the menu File>Library>Import Playlist...
6. Find the playlist you'd just saved and... bingo.
If you've changed any of the info on any tracks in your library since creating that original playlist it may have difficulty finding a few of them. If so it will let you know, but you'll get everything else. Good luck!

iTunes doesn't play AVI (AVI is really an outdated Windows format). If you are lucky and the codecs used are ones supported by iTunes you can try re-wrapping it as .mp4 with MpegStreamclip, but you'll have to be very lucky since AVI can contain all kinds of unsupported codecs.

I imported a bunch of photos from iPhoto 4 on one machine to iPhoto 5 on another, expecting it to catch duplicates, without testing beforehand (duh). It didn't catch them, and now I'm trying to figure out which were the imported ones so I can delete them.
As this looks to be a laborious task if done from within iPhoto, and deleting the files via the Finder is a no-no -- assuming I can even identify the duplicates -- is there a third-party app, or even a good trick, for doing this?

I have a folder on my PC named "Music" inside this folder are 5,372 sub-folders each containing the songs from specific albums, and an m3u file representing the playlist for that album. I have just started using iTunes. I have imported the music from the "Music" folder, but the playlists haven't been transfered. I have attempted to import them, but it seems that I must do it one at a time? I have tried to drag and drop them all at one, but this creates on playlist file that contains all songs, rather than the 5,372 individual playlists that I desire. I use OSX and iTunes and have the same approach as Scarecrow. I have about 1170 Albums/CD's which have been copied at various times over the years into my Music Library file - with each Album/CD being a subfolder. Multi-CD releases are all in one subfolder. Many CD's were not copied using iTunes and as I no longer have those old CD's - I cannot recopy them. Importing them into Music makes a real mess with many subfolders now in Music as individual non-grouped songs. So, it is easier and neater for me to make each album or CD it's own playlist. It is also then very easy to access my library via my Roku Soundbridge and copies neatly into my iPod and iPhone. It would be a real plus to have a 'bulk-copy' methodology into Playlists or Music that keet all of these items 'together'. Dragging 1170+ items took a long time! If anyone has any specific approach or recommendation I would be most interested in learning it. Thanks.

I found out how to convert my windows media player music into my iTunes since I just joined the apple world. I was able to do one CD but I tried to convert Alicia Keys Element of Freedom and all of the songs converted except "Put It In a Love Song" featuring Beyonce. If it's going to do that, how do I keep it from doing all of my albums that have featured artists so it'll be in one album. I don't want the album and then the sole song sitting there. I've tried to find out if anyone's addressed that, but I'm not sure if people are addressing it because it's coming from Windows Media and not the store yet.

Hello CESNET the best bet is to try http://blowintopieces.com/fluke/ I myself don't use Flac files but to any audiophile it's important to hear sound at it's best. Also WAV or AIFF & ALAC you will need to use http://tmkk.hp.infoseek.co.jp/xld/index_e.html to convert into ALAC.
P.S. their is also a simple FLAC player but can't remember it one more thing converting FLAC to WAV will not give you full TAGs. Best bet is to try just one file you've copied ether straight into iTunes or convert & see what's best for you.

Happens all the time and you are probably correct about cause.
Some CD manufacturers use various forms of copy protection on discs designed to interfere with computers reading the discs. I have found iTunes to be very picky about this too. I have had several discs iTunes would not acknowledge but could rip with another program. Other times the fix is as simple as cleaning the disc ro turning on error correction for the ripping process.

I have just bought an Ipod and am having trouble importing my Cds into Itunes !!!
I seem to have the 'intro function' on in Itunes so I can only get the first few seconds of each track !!
Does anyone know how I can import the complete tracks and how I turn this Itunes intro setting off ?

let's try checking up on some of the simpler possibilities:
You can't import or play music from an audio CD in iTunes for Windows

... but if no joy, post back with your itunes "help > run CD diagnostics". one of the clever folk might be able to spot something in those.
