How do I import a CSV file of contacts as a new contact list?

How do I import a csv contact file in to my Thunderbird account as a separate Contact list?

I have done everything I can think of. I have imported CSV files in the past, but now that i've upgraded Thunderbird, there is no option to import CSV files. It says
Import Everything
or select the type of material to import:
Address Books
Mail
Feed Subscriptions
Settings
Filters
I have tried all of them and nothing allows me to import anything but Outlook Express when I choose everything. The others give me some options, but I can only import outlook CSV files. I don't have Outlook on my computer, nor do I have Eurdora nor Windows live mail, which comes up under settings. Feeds will not accept CSV files. Nothing seems to take these files any more. I put them in Openoffice spreadsheet and tried to move them from there, but that didn't work either.

    This may be a little to late, but you sign on to icloud.com and click contacts, in the bottom right corner there will be the gear simple click that and click import csv.

    You would need to do something like create a Gmail account, then export your Outlook contacts to Gmail (see http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/export-outlook-contacts-to-google -gmail-HA001148902.aspx), then export the contacts as a vCard from Gmail (see https://support.google.com/mail/answer/24911?hl=en) and import it to iCloud (see http://support.apple.com/kb/PH3605).

  • How do I import a CSV file into numbers so the columns show

    Thanks for the help.  I have a CSV file generated by the Google Keyword tool; when I open it in numbers all the values go into the same row.  I get the correct number of rows but only one column with five values in each one.  I read on here to check and see if the extension is correct and it is csv.  I've also dragged the file onto the number icon in the dock and get the same result.  Google gives you the option of exporting as a tsv file. Did that and I got the exact same result.  I've looked at the CSV file in textedit and it doesn't show any commas, but seems to have tabs.  But the tsv file doesn't open correctly either.  I'm at a loss.

    If the file is created as TSV one, its name extension must be .txt.
    Numbers open such files flawlessly.

  • How to import a csv file without "+" being added to numbers?

    I'm trying to import a csv file from my bank. Numbers automatically adds a "+" and "-" sign before all numbers. Numbers won't add the numbers with a + sign. How can I easily remove the + sign? It seems the delimiter in the csv file may be ", rather than , Thanks.

    Wayne,
    I don't believe that the plus sign came from Numbers. Except for a purposful application of a Custom Format, Numbers isn't going to add the plue sign. The minus sign is another issue. It's a perfectly acceptable part of the value and shouldn't cause a problem.
    If the plus sign came from the CSV file, which you seem to imply isn't the case, you would have to strip it out before submitting to Numbers.

  • How to import an .csv file into the database?

    and can we code the program in JSP to import the.csv file into the database.

    It is better to use Java class to read the CSV file and store the contents in the database.
    You can use JSP to upload the CSV file to the server if you want, but don't use it to perform database operations.
    JSPs are good for displaying information on the front-end, and for displaying HTML forms, there are other technologies more suitable for the middle layer, back end and the database layer.
    So break you application into
    1) Front end - JSPs to display input html forms and to display data retrieved from the database.
    2) Middle layer - Servlets and JavaBeans to interact with JSPs. The code that reads the CSV file to parse it's contents should be a Java Class in the middle layer. It makes use of Java File I/O
    3) Database layer - Connects to the database using JDBC (Java Database Connectivity), and then writes to the database with SQL insert statements.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Keeping the above concepts in mind, first build a simple JSP and get it to work,
    then research on Google , for Java File I/O , discover how to read a file,
    Then search on how to readh a CSV file using Java.
    After researching you should be able to read the CSV file line by line and store each line inside a Collection.
    Then research on Google, on how to write to the database using JDBC
    Write a simple program that inserts something to a dummy table in the database.
    Then, read the data stored in the Collection, and write insert statements for each records in the collection.
    Please describe exactly what you did. In moving to a new machine no importing is involved. The best way is to simply connect the two computers together and drag the iPhoto library from the old one to the pictures folder go the new one and launch iPhoto
    Full support for embedded quotes was added in SSIS 2012.
  • Import From CSV File statement runs forever, no error, does not finish
    Hello,
    I am trying to import a CSV file in a JAVA program, with the following statement:
    IMPORT FROM CSV FILE '/debug/testdatabase/FILE.csv'
    INTO "JOSEPH"."TEST_TABLE"
    WITH COLUMN LIST IN FIRST ROW
    RECORD DELIMITED BY '\n'
    FIELD DELIMITED BY '\t' ERROR LOG '/debug/testdatabase/file.err'
    THREADS 10
    BATCH 10000
    I have two HANA instances on different machines A and B:
    Both machines run HANA version 1.00.74.00.389160 (NewDB100_REL), while the OS is
    SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11.1 on machine A and
    SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11.2 on machine B.
    The statement above runs fine on machine A and the rows are imported properly from JAVA as well as when executed from HANA Studio SQL console.
    If I copy the file to machine B and try the exact same statement with the same file, it does not finish (neither from JAVA nor from HANA Studio SQL console). There is no error either. It cannot be cancelled, only a HANA restart stops the statement. Also the sample file I use has only 2 rows, and memory does not seem to be a problem.
    I seem to have a similar problem to the one described here, but the answers there do not help me: http://scn.sap.com/thread/3396582 I specified the record delimiter, and I used a python script to check for any strange characters that are not supposed to be there, but didn't find any.
    If I copy the file to my windows PC and use the "File Menu -> Import -> SAP Hana Content -> Data from Local file" function, it imports the file correctly into B, but I need to be able to do it from JAVA.
    Machine A administration view:
    Machine B administration view:
    If you have any idea what might cause this behavior or where I can find more information on this problem please give me a hint.
    Hi Joseph,
    First from the pics, the revision of your SAP HANA instance is 73 instead of 74. Since I have no identical environment, I cannot test it for you. But can you try the simplest scenario? You can create a table with only one column table try to import a CSV file with only one row.
  • How to generate a second csv file with different report columns selected?
    Hi. Everybody:
    How to generate a second csv file with different report columns selected?
    The first csv file is easy (report attributes -> report export -> enable CSV output Yes). However, our users demand 2 csv files with different report columns selected to meet their different needs.
    (The users don't want to have one csv file with all report columns included. They just want to get whatever they need directly, no extra columns)
    Thank you for any help!
    MZ
    Hello,
    I'm doing it usually. Typically example would be in the report only the column "FIRST_NAME" and "LAST_NAME" displayed whereas
    in the csv exported with the UTL_FILE the complete address (street, housenumber, additions, zip, town, state ... ) is written, these things are needed e.g. the form letters.
    You do not need another page, just an additional button named e.g. "export_to_csv" on your report page.
    The csv export itself is handled from a plsql procedure "stored procedure" ( I like to have business logic outside of apex) which is invoked by pressing the button "export_to_csv". Of course the stored procedure can handle also parameters
    An example code would be something like
    PROCEDURE srn_brief_mitglieder (
         p_start_mg_nr IN NUMBER,
         p_ende_mg_nr IN NUMBER
    AS
    export_file          UTL_FILE.FILE_TYPE;
