Trying to imporrt all my projects from Garageband into Logic Pro X.

Open Logic X. Go to the help menu and select "logic pro help." Type garageband into the search bar. You will have one result to choose from.

I have an edited movie project that was 17 mins long on my mini iPad. Because it was over 15 mins long I couldn't share it into iMovie theatre on my mini iPad. So my father suggested to share it to Facebook where (we thought) we could download it from there into iMovie on my iMac. But it didn't work. I put the link onto to my desktop, and from there, I tried to to add the link into an iMovie video tab but a little window cam up and said(and I quote): "This file will not be imported. Thanks for getting back with me so promptly. It has taken me this time to connect with the proper people to find out the information you requested.
The camera used to film the class was a Panasonic AG-HMC40P, owned by a local cable TV station; they use Kodak video encoding software, and a SD card was used to store the video. The file extension is .mts, and the mime file is MPEG 2 transport. He said I probably need an AVCHD converter, and the Mac app store lists 8 of those options, 4 free and 4 for up to $9.99. He said I'll also need a converter for later plans of posting on YouTube or on the website, and while some of those in the app store might work for the later needs, he knows one app called "Compressor" that would work for the uploading later. He also suggested I could try renaming the .mts file to .MP2T, but he wasn't sure that would work.
They don't work with Macs at the studio, but I had thought I could have some lessons there in editing, and apply what I learned to my iMac and iMovie.
First, though, I have to be able to see it and review it!

Here is one way to do it, although you will see there could be variations.
1) Open iMovie
2) Start a new project - name it Stills for iPhoto (or a name of your choice)
3) Go to your EVENT. Find the spot with the cursor that you want a photo of. Right-click (or control-click if you don't have a mouse) and select ADD STILL FRAME TO PROJECT.
4) The photo should be in the Project called Stills for iPhoto.
5) Right-click (control-click) on the photo and select REVEAL IN FINDER.
6)When the finder window opens, right-click and select COPY. Go to your Desktop or a folder of your choice and right-click PASTE
7) Drag the photo from your Desktop to iPhoto

If you had Illustrator you could take advantage of smart objects.
Has been awhile since I worked in Corel (so do not remeber if Corel had clipboard settings whcih need adjusuting), but do remember copying a path, getting that into Phothshop as shape layer for part of the artowrk in a trade show poster.

btw special paste is no good, since it copies the stracture

Transfer Lunar Strings from Garageband to Logic Pro?

I have both progs on my iMac-is it possible to get Lunar Strings into Logic Pro?-There doesn't appear to be anything quite so lush on the Logic Library...Garageband samples,yes-but no Lunar Strings!!

All garageband software voices should be available in logic. In logics library browser check the top level the last library entry should be Garageband.

How to export/import a Project from Dev area to Test area

Dear All,
We are using ODI for the first time in our organization. We have completed our developments and need to export the project and import it to the test area.
We exported the project as a whole and tried to import to teh new repository using teh mode "INSERT", but it is failed saying that the sequences are having values less than the object IDs.
When we tried to import using "DUPLICATE" mode it all Project got imported. But the relations to the folders are invalid.
Please guide us how to do export/import a project. (The documentations we referred does not talk about the errors mentioned above)

How do you import iPhone video from Aperture into FCPX?

I need to import some iPhone 4 video files from Aperture into FCPX. For some reason there seems to be no way to do this. Please do not suggest I import the videos directly from my iPhone. #1 the videos are already off my phone and #2 I have no desire to import all my iPhone videos separately into FCPX when I am already importing them into Aperture along with my photos.

You have to drag them from their location, (finder or iPhoto etc) into one of the events in the event list of FCP X.

Failure to import fcp7 project's xml into Premiere Pro 2014. Details below. Why is it crashing? Any thoughts?

Here are the details of my problem:
Premiere Pro 2014 (up to date)
Mac book Pro OSX Yosemite 10.10.1 with 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7 processor
Source footage includes a variation of codecs as follows: H.264 in a .mov container, 1920 x 1080 Apple Pro Res 422, Linear PCM
There are no error messages, the import into Premiere Pro 2014 begins normally but the "progress bar" never starts and then after about 10 seconds a blank white box appears followed by the pinwheel.
When the problem occurred I was trying to import a fcp7 project's xml file into Premiere Pro.
I emailed Adobe Support Tech the fcp7 xml file and it crashed his computer, however, I was able to successfully import one clip from fcp7 (an Apple ProRes 422, Linear PCM, duration 1 minute) from the fcp 7 project into Premiere Pro, but not the whole project or the bare essentials (the cut itself).
I am not running other software
Do you have any third-party effects or codecs installed? Not that I know of...
Tell us about your computer hardware. Be especially certain to tell us about third-party I/O hardware (e.g., AJA, Matrox, Blackmagic, MOTU). ??????

Not really, no.
It might be possible to rip a DVD with your Encore slideshow, but I don't know how well PPro would handle it, and any audio would likely have to be converted to WAV.
