The old hard drive was operating on Xp and new hard drive is Windows 7, if this makes any difference.

Unfortunately there is no simple method and, the workaround is far from perfect. The .json files Firefox uses overwite the existing bookmarks but the .html option appends and does not overwrite.
First of all backup all bookmarks on each hard drive. The best method of doing that is to backup the Firefox profiles, that captures the bookmarks databases (''places.sqlite'') and the autobackups that Firefox holds.

Bookmarks are no longer stored in an html file. Instead, they are stored in a file called '''places.sqlite''' in your '''Profile''' folder.

How do i import bootcamp from a external hard drive

Hello, I have a 2007 24 inch 2.8ghz 7.1 intel imac, I have just upgraded my internal hard drive from a 500gb seagate barracuda to a 1.5tb western digital caviar green. I have a external usb 3.0 sata hard drive enclosure that has the original 500gb hard drive in it. I have succesfully imported my mac osx from the external 500gb drive to the new internal 1.5tb drive. I have partitioned the new internal hard drive for bootcamp but I can not figure out how or if I can import bootcamp from the external to the internal drive. When I boot up it shows my new mac osx hdd and the external usb mac osx hdd but no bootcamp. I know I cant boot windows from an external hard drive but can I import it from a external hard drive? Bookmarks are stored in a file called places.sqlite inside the profile folder. You can copy that file from the old profile folder into your current profile folder. Is it possible to import songs from an old apple id into the library on my new computer, but then use my own apple id from then on?

Okay so I'm about to start college and I just got my own macbook. Up until this point, I have been using my dad's apple ID for all my music and apps and stuff (on my other computers at home) but now that I got my own computer, I have my own apple ID as well, and I'd like to start using that ID from now on.
So my question is, is there a way for me to get my old music library (which was controlled by my dad's apple ID) onto my new mac, but from that point on, start using my own apple ID for purchases?

Yes, once the content is in iTunes on your computer, just click it to play and authorise your computer to play it by entering your Dad's ID and password.
Log into your own account and start purchasing your own content which will then be added to the existing content.

I have a portable hard drive with music on it. I have been successful in Importing Files from that external drive to my iTunes library and can play the music on my PC. However, when I sync my iPhone in an attempt to load those new songs, those songs get the little !exclamation point! next to them and the message "Original File Cannot Be Found". Connect the external drive and choose Consolidate Library from the Library section of the File menu, or open the Advanced section of the iTunes preferences and tell it to copy music to the iTunes music folder for future imports.

I had to reformat my Windows partition and I backed up all of my iTunes to my external hard drive and I need to transfer them back. Also when I backed them up they were created in 8.0+ version. Would I need to get iTunes to the most current version or would it be fine if I didn't. Thanks.

When i try and import movies taken from various digital camera's in Mpg file format on an external hard drive, iPhoto states the file is in an unrecognized format. Iphoto supports not all movie formats, it is mostly trial and error. I could not find a list of supported file formats for iPhoto, but since iPhoto and Aperture share a unifies library format, the aperture list of supported formats should give you a general idea:
Aperture 3: About Video and Audio formats in Aperture
iPhot will support the video format of the iPhone, also the vdeo format of many still cameras, but not generally the video formats of video cameras. For video cameras you'd be better off with iMovie, that also should be installed on a new mac by default.
The hardest restrictions are the pixel size and frame rate. You cannot import arbitray pixel sizes and frame rates.
Do your videos play in QuickTime player? If not, you may need to install additional video codecs - try Flip4mac and Perian.
