How do I import groups of contacts?
I have several different contact groups of 200-400 contacts stored in CSV files. None of the names are the same and I want to keep them separate. I wish to upload them as groups or separate folders within contacts so that I can send to one group at a time. When I tried to upload them it copied them into my main contact file and then I could store them in a group, but when I load the second one the main contact file becomes a super-set of both and I have no way to separate out only the second group or subsequent groups. How can I copy them into contacts as separate entities?
Firefox doesn't do email, it's a web browser.
If you are using Firefox to access web mail, you need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.
If your problem is with Thunderbird, see this forum for support.

How do I restore Groups to Contacts from time machine?
How do I restore groups to Contacts using time machine? I somehow managed to duplicate many groups and contacts in Contacts, so I deleted everything and tried to restore them using time machine backup from a few days before. It restored all my contacts, but none of my groups. If you select a group and click restore it will restore all the contacts in the group, but not the group itself. I had many groups with many contacts in each and would really prefer not to do this manually. I can see the groups in the time machine backup, but cannot figure out how to restore them. I know from researching online that with Address Books and previous operating systems you could go to ~Library/Applications Support/AddressBook and restore the whole file, but either this operating systems hides the necessary files or Contacts is set up differently than AddressBook was. I am using OS 10.9.5 and Contacts version 8.0 on a MacbookPro 13 inch mid 2010.
Here is what I have tried:
1. Finder>Go>(Option)Library>Address Book(highlighted)with files showing in right column. Opened Time Machine and Address Book folder is there. Tried to go back to several previous dates from several months ago. None will highlight in order for the Restore button to light up.
2. Finder>Mac HD (under Devices)>(Option)Library>Address Book (same as above). Again, cannot go anywhere back in time to highlight a date for Restore button to light up.
Note: I was able to use Time Machine to restore my Contacts with no problem. However, they are All Contacts only and did not restore my Groups. I do know how to make groups again and highlight and drag them back, but wanted to see if there was a way to restore the groups. I will post another question as to why my Time Machine won't let me restore the Address Book as well as the Contacts. Thank you for your time and patience. -
How to create a group of contact from a multi-selection of mails in a mailbox to answer to all senders?
Use Mail Scripts. Its Add Addresses function will collect all the addresses from all selected messages and allow you to select the ones you want to add and allow you to create groups as you go.

Or just sync to google from your HTC and export to a vcf file. After that login to icloud.com and there you can import the vcf. And now you just have to setup the icloud on your iPhone.

I am switching over from a PC to a MacBook Pro and an iPad. How do I import my Outlook contacts into MacBook and iPad?
One option is forwarding your Outlook contacts as vCard files which can be imported by the Address Book on your Mac, followed by being synced with your iPad.
In Outlook, select all contacts and at the menu bar select forward as vCard. Each contact will be a separate vCard file. Send the email to an email account you are accessing with the Mail app on your Mac.
Save the attached vCard files in a folder created on your Desktop or in whichever chosen location for the folder. At the Address Book menu bar, go to File and select Import navigating to the folder that incudes the vCard files. Open the folder to select. -
HT2486 How do I import existing Outlook contact groups into Mac Address Book?
After months of problems with Microsoft Outlook 2011 for Mac, I am switching to Mac Mail. I seem to have successfully imported my individual contacts into Address Book. However, I have been unsuccessful in figuring out how to import group contacts into Mac Mail.
So far I have created .txt files, (a separate one for each group), listing each e-mail address in that group separated by a comma. Can I input this information into Address Book somehow? If not, how else can I import my groups into Address Book in a more efficient way than manually entering them? Manually dragging and dropping names into each new Address Book group is not an option, since I have about 50 groups with 20-50 people in each of them. It would take me extraordinary amounts of time to do that, not to mention the frustration.
A second question: There are many duplicates listed in my address book. When I select Card>Look for Duplicates, it tells me that No duplicates are found. They most definitely exist, however. How can I erase them without having to manually delete each duplicate? You can't transfer the groups, you'll need to do it the hard way.
As for the duplicates, how many accounts do you have in your Address Book? -
How can I import address book contacts from 10.2 to 10.6?
I have an uncle who recently had a computer with 10.2 that crashed. I recovered all his files. His new computer is now at 10.5 or 6, and will not import old contacts from 10.2. Anyone know how I can import them?
Exporting vCards from Address Book partially preserves group information - it puts it in the notes field as Categories, which is not very useful. I suggest you export one group at a time. I don't think you can import directly into a group, so create a group, import the cards for that group, then select all the cards in the "Last Import" pseudo-group and drag them to the appropriate group.
If some of your contacts are in multiple groups the duplicates will be spotted on import. Unless you have hundreds of groups it should not be to much of a pain. Otherwise look at Gwenhiver.net - Applications - Address Book Exporter - it may preserve groups on re-import (but I don't know).

How can I import my Google Contacts to use with Apple Mail?
Google's GMail user interface has become impossible to use. Its most important and useful features are either hidden or have been removed. I want to change to use Apple Mail to retrieve email from my Google account, to answer that email, and to compose new messages.
To compose new messages, I need to be able to use my Google Contacts (created one by one as I've used GMail in the past). I could either "set things up" so that Mail would access my Google Contacts or I could import my Google Contacts to a Mail address book. How do I accomplish one or the other?
Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.Hi David C. Murray!
There are a couple of methods for accomplishing this goal. First, you could always export your Google contacts in vCard format and then import them into Contacts on your computer:
Contacts (Mavericks): Export and import contacts
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH15080
The other option is to set your Google contacts to automatically sync with your Contacts app on your computer:
Contacts (Mavericks): About Contacts accounts
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH15070
Contacts can manage your contact information from other accounts, such as Facebook and Google. Just add those accounts (choose Contacts > Add Account), and you’ll have access to all your current contact information from anywhere.
Thanks for being a part of the Apple Support Communities!

How to create a group in contacts
How can i create a group in contacts on ipad1
How to a link a contact to a groupYou have to use a 3rd party app to do this. Several are available, including ABContacts and Speed Names. For texting, these don't support iMessage but you can always start a group message to a set of contacts on your phone and then save to conversation to send a future message to the same list of contacts.
