How do I import "My Pictures" complete with various folders?

I seem to have one huge set of thumbnails.  I do not want PS to eat up any more disk space or  duplicate any photos, they are already organized by me in My Pictures.  I do not see an explorer on the left hand side.  PS spent a long time doing something but I find it to be anything but organized.  Please help!

The Elements Organizer does not change your file/folder structure (unless you specifically tell it to). If you told it to import all of your images, it just collected information about those files and added it to a database. If you want to see an Explorer like panel on the left-hand side, go to the Display button in the upper-right and choose "Folder Location View".

iPhoto and Adobe do not play well together.  Most advise you use  one or the other,  but not both.  iPhoto puts your picturese in a hidden packet, so if you import image you will just get thumbnail.  There are way around this but complicated.  Try a google search for iphoto to photoshop.

Yes, that appears how Mavericks works right now. However, you can open the Address Panel, select all your contacts, then click the To (or CC, or Bcc) buttons to move the selection to the address field.
If it is not already in the Toolbar, right-click on the Toolbar and select Customize Toolbar…
Then, drag the address panel up to wherever you want it.
You may also want to add it to the New Message window in the same way.

Can Anyone help me on how to delete imported album/pictures from my ipad? I imported them from my camera to ipad. I already connected it to my itunes but i cant seem to delete the imported ones. Thanks!!

If you connect your iPad to your computer via USB, when it opens on the left hand side of the iTunes screen, click it once to open it.  Then click on the Photos tab and uncheck the photos/albums you had synced to your iPad, which you no longer wish to keep there.  Then click Apply on the lower right hand side and the photos will be removed.

  • I lost my macbook pro and i just got a new one. how can i retrieve the pictures taken with photo booth(old laptop) to my new laptop?

i lost my macbook pro and i just got a new one. how can i retrieve the pictures taken with photo booth(old laptop) to my new laptop?

Well if you don't have the laptop to get the storage drive out of it, and you don't have any previous backups how do you expect to get the photo's?
PhotoBooth is just a program, it stores the files on the computers storage drive, if the computer is lost so are your photo's.
There is nothing you can do to delete or retrieve them using your new computer unless you stored them online someplace.
DId you save them online? iDisk or something else?
I don't use such services because my data is mine and not theirs to snoop through, so if your looking for that sort of help I can't assist you any.

  • How do I import photos to iPad2 from different folders in my Mac?

How do I import photos to iPad2 from different folders in my Mac?
I have a few folders of photos in my mac that I want to be on my iPad2. How do I go about on doing that?
It seems like I need to put all the folders into one folder and point iTunes to that main folder.
The thing is I don't want to copy them (waste of space) and I don't want to move them (my photos are organized).
So is there a way for me to import photos from different folders in my mac to my iPad2?
    Thank you!
    BTW... I don't use iPhoto.

Find software (which may not exist) to export them in a photo format (jpeg, tiff). IPhoto will not do it

  • How do i import new pictures to both iPhoto and another folder

so i've created a duplicate folder of my current iPhoto Library Originals - and renamed the new folder as Photos which was on my Desktop (I now moved it into the Picture Folder where iPhoto Library is also)
I'm still tinkering with both Bridge and iPhoto to see which I like better for organizing and using along side Photoshop Elements.
So, when I import new pictures this weekend, how can I import them into iPhoto Library as well as into Photos folder? I understand that while I choose to mess with Bridge, I need a completely separate folder of pictures from the iPhoto Library as not to corrupt it.
    Thanks!

Use Image Capture (in your Applications Folder) to move the files from your camera to this Photo folder. Then import them to iPhoto from there. You can automate this process using a shareware called Hazel.

  • How do you import/ paste pictures using CS5?

Completely new to Indesign.  Before a couple of hours ago didn't even know program existed.  Downloaded CS5 Trial version.
I'm Used to MS Publisher/ MS Word etc., WYSIWYG interface.
    I'm creating a magazine.
How do I import/copy/paste a picture to the page?  Just a simple photograph.  I want to be able to copy a picture, or import a picture and have it appear on my page so that I can adjust the edges and add text on top of it.
Is it possible to do this?  If so, why can't this program have a simple step by step instead of making post on a public forum this question.
You figure, if I don't know how to copy/paste a picture in this software, having just spent 2 hours trying to figure it out, I need really basic, step by step instructions.
This program needs a serious, I'm brand new, what the *_____ do I do next tutorial?
    Thanks in advance.

If you weren't able to do everything in whatever programs you're now proficient in, from the first instant, without any learning effort, then please don't bash InDesign or Adobe, or any other application that's not magically intuitive. However, if you were instantly productive in those other applications, and they serve your needs, perhaps you'll benefit from staying with them, and using your time to develop richer content and designs, rather than investing time and effort in the admittedly round-about and indirect learning path that's necessary with InDesign and other complex powerful applications like it.
Regarding tutorials and other introductory materials, if you haven't followed the links indicated in the lower-left corner of the Welcome screen, please click Getting Started, and Resources. You'll find a very rich collection of videos and other forms of free Adobe learning materials.
The Welcome screen appears by default when InDesign is first installed. It's possible to turn it off by ticking the Don't Show Again check box in the lower left area of the screen. Help > Welcome Screen restores the screen.
For even more resources, search Google for terms like "InDesign free online training materials," and "InDesign free online tutorials," without quotes, to find these items on Adobe's site, as well as on sites all over the InDesign universe. Also, Google searches for specific topics, like importing or pasting graphics, are very productive, though it may take you a while to learn to create narrower search scopes by becoming familiar with InDesign's terminology. Include "InDesign" without quotes in the search terms for the most relevant found results.

It may be a wonderful program, and create some awe inspiring magazines.  But for $700, it really needs get some Google type tutorials that explain the basics step by step.
A common interface, that is used by the adobe product line is the exact reason why I've never purchased their products.
I'm sure there are millions of folks like me that know just enough to be dangerous.
So far, I've imported a script, had to change it using MS Frontpage to work with CS5.  Imported 96 page PDF document, format each page, then add and delete pages, import pictures, add text, lock them down, fix errors, and create an even number page document so that I can publish it.
All I can say, is thank God, they let me try before I buy.  This will give me time to tinker in there.  But come on folks, just because you can design the most complicated software, doesn't mean that you actually create the most complicated software.
Take the approach, that you might like some new customers, and actually bring them along and show them what to do.
As I learn the interface, I'm sure it's just as nice as french bread with butter, but for now, I'm having to scrape the mold off of something I found in the dumpster.
I'm sure, I'll learn to love it, but for now, for the love of software programmers outthere, create a product that can be used by average folks.

  • How do I import a pdf file with layers into Motion 5?

In earlier version of Motion, you could import a pdf file with all layers or even select layers you wanted to import. You did this by dragging the pdf file into the project and holding it until a popup appeard providing you choices for how you wanted to complete the import. In Motion 5.0.1 however, no such popup appears and it imports the file as a flat image file. Any ideas how to change this pelase?
    Thanks
    Greg

Thanks Ben & Praveen. In FCP7 It was possible to import PDF files and as you did the import, make choices regarding layers you wished to import. FCPX appears to import PDFs but only as flattened files. I'll try keeping the file in PSD format and importing as you recommend.

  • Importing camera picture setting with raw file

Is there a way to import my raw file with the camera picture settings from my camera. I use a personally edited version of the camera vivid from my d300. The files are imported without the settings and get set to adobe standard in my camera calibration. I use lightroom 4 with cs5 64 bit.

No is the short answer.  Adobe and Nikon are not the same company so don’t have access to the other’s intellectual property and don’t know what the other does to decode the raw data, so neither can be expected to respect the other’s raw engine’s adjustment settings.   Your question is the same as asking if Nikon software could use the Adobe XMP data to duplicate how things look in Lightroom.
The DNG Profile Editor is a way for you to tweak the existing camera profiles to your liking in Adobe products.

  • How can I import images from iphoto with the albums and folders?

How can I import images from iphoto without losing the albums and folders I already created?

In Organizer, you can choose File>get Photos and Videos>From iPhoto.
Importing from iPhoto'09: If in iPhoto, you organize your media using photo references, that is, the media actually does not reside inside iPhoto library package, and are referenced through original locations, Organizer does not create new copies of those media and just refer to the original location. but if your iPhoto media reside inside iPhoto library, Organizer creates a copy all media in your pictures folder, also imports albums and tags and other metadata.
Importing from iPhoto'011: In this case, Organizer always creates a copy of your photos in your pictures folder which resides inside iPohto package. It does not import the albums and other metadata like star rating, caption etc.
    Hope this information helps!

  • How to remove wrong thumbnail picture associated with MP3/WMA file?

Win7 associates those little thumbnail sized pictures to some mp3/wma files I have (inside Music library), but some some pictures are wrong.
How to "dissociate" those wrong pictures?
Furthermore, Win7 seems to fill in informations to music files but once again, some are wrong.  How could I stop it to act "too smart"?

    Hi,
If you are using Windows Media Player to run these files by default, the problem occurs because the Windows Media Player library database has become
    corrupted.
First, you may check if it is run by Windows Media Player by default. If not, please change it:
Change which programs Windows uses by default
To resolve this problem, clear the Windows Media Player database. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Exit Windows Media Player.
    2. Click Start, click Run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player, and then click OK.
    3. Select all the files in the folder, and then click Delete on the File menu.
Note: You do not have to delete the folders that are in this folder.
     4. Restart Windows Media Player.
Note: Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.
If this does not resolve the problem, clear the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps:
       1. Exit Windows Media Player.
       2. Click Start, click Run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft, and then click OK.
       3. Select the Media Player folder, and then click Delete on the File menu.
       4. Restart Windows Media Player.
    Windows Media
Player supports other options that control the updating and overwriting of related media information. If you want to receive media information from the Internet but control how your files are updated:
    1.
    Click
    Organize, and then click Options.
    2.
Click the Library tab, and then select the
Retrieve additional information from the Internet check box.
    3.
    Select either
Only add missing information or Overwrite all media information, and then click
    OK.
