How do I import or put in downloaded plug-ins/presets?

So recently I've just been getting into 8-bit/16-bit music and I downloaded some presets for drums and plug-ins for synthesizers and such and I just have no idea how to install them on my computer. I am aware there are sub-folders, but where do I put my presets/plug-ins? They are ".cst" files and I am so confused. Thank you and please help I would really like to make 8-bit/16-bit music thank you very much!!

.cst are channel strip settings.. Not plugins...
In your User folder...
Music/Audio Music Apps/Channel Strip Settings
...and then put in the appropriate folder inside there for the type of .cst they are....

    The custom plug-in api file will be available in the plugins folder for all users.
    But I want the plug-in to load for few users only.
    Is there any registry key or any other property available to achieve this?
    How does the Reader or Acrobat determine which plug-ins should be loaded?

    Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat looks for files with extension .api in the plugins folder.

    When you browse to Computer is your CF card shown as a removable drive?
    If not try shutting down the computer and re-starting and then inserting the CF card or plugging in the USB again.
    Open Elements Organizer and press Ctrl+G to bring up the downloader and under Source click refresh to locate your CF card.

    Im having trouble viewing videos on my late 2007 mac. When ever I try to download plug-ins it downloads, but when i open it some weird code pops up in TextEdit. Anybody know whats going on?

    Select the downloaded dmg file, assuming that's what's you're downloading, CMD+I, select open with->DiskImageMounter.app, and hit Change All button. It's in /System/Library/CoreServices/.

    If I understand things correctly, the minimum requirements for Cubase SX 3 are a Power Macintosh G4 and Mac OS X 10.3.3. If so, that means that the program cannot be used on a Power Macintosh 7600/132. That would also explain why the aforementioned file is a .dmg (a disk image type used with Mac OS X).
    You may want to contact the manufacturer Steinberg for information about whether another program/version for Mac OS 9 or earlier is available.
    If you just wish to transfer files on the 7600/132 to the new iMac, Ethernet can be used locally (TCP/IP, via a router with a switch). "Normal" file sharing does not work because of operating system incompatibilities. However, you could install a small FTP server (such as the now free NetPresenz) on the 7600/132, and then access the files using an FTP client on the modern machine. Alternatively, you could use a "cloud drive" on the Internet. The Danish System 7.6 should include basic TCP/IP software. It should be possible to use a CD-R for any needed transfers of files (like the FTP server software) to the 7600/132, unless that computer is capable of connecting directly to the Internet.

    If someone works with Eclipse, please, help me.
    I want to install the Visual Editor for Eclipse (VE) manually, not by the Eclipse Update Manager. But before I do that I know I have to install GEF and EMF. So, I downloaded the versions that are compatible with my version of Eclipse (Eclipse 3.1RC1). The versions are (according to the VE site - www.eclipse.org/ve):
    EMF build I200506091102
    GEF Build 3.1RC1
    VE 1.1M2
    In my computer the Eclipse is in Program files\eclipse. So, I extracted the GEF zip file in Program files as the documentation says, looked at the directory and the files were really extracted to there. So, I opened Eclipse and checked in Plug-in Details if it was installed, but it wasn't. I did the same with EMF and I got nothing too.
    What am I doing wrong? How can I install these plug-ins manually?
    If someone can help me, I would appreciate a lot.

    If eclipse itself is stored in /foo/eclipse, the plugins need to be extracted and
    installed in /foo/eclipse/plugins. Then start (using a shell/command line
    interpreter) eclipse as follows: "eclipse -clean". This flag forces eclipse
    to (re)check what plugins are installed.

  • Unable to download plug ins

    I use Windows XP, I have both Photoshop 7.0 and Elements 4.0. I've been trying to download plugins for my Canon EOS Rebel to access RAW (Cr2) files and every time I download I get an error message either that the file is corrupted or that the ZIP extractor cannot open it. I've disabled both my anti virus and malware software to no avail. I cannot access any fo the downloadable files from Adobe. Any suggestions? Thanks!

    Are you referring to Adobe Camera Raw Plug-ins?
    If so, you should know that there is no ACR plug-in available any more that will work with Photoshop 7.x. (As an aside, you should apply the free and mandatory 7.0.1 update ASAP. It fixes many bugs.)
    ACR 1.x was available for purchase when Photoshop 7.0.1 was current, but it only supported a handful of cameras anyway. It was never free and it was withdrawn as soon as Photoshop 8 was released.
    You're not accidentally downloading the Mac version of the plug-ins, are you? Sorry, other than that I have no suggestions. I don't do Windows. :(

    Everything was working fine and suddenly I don't have the required plug ins.  I don't know how they got erased. Do I have to reinstall the entire Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design & Web Premium?  Do I need to uninstall everything first?

    Run the cleaner tool and reinstall.
    Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
    Also make sure some system process is not running amok. Many times nothing gets actually erased but is being blocked by overzealous virus scanners or similar.

  • How do i import photos and physically downloaded music from my broken iPhone onto the new one?

    So, I was on vacation last week and dropped my iPhone 4S 10 stories down onto concrete. Needless to say the screen didn't survive.
    I have backed up the old phone to iTunes and restored the new phone, yet all my photos are missing as well as any of the music that I hard downloaded onto the device.

    Hmm. Ok, so even though the broken iPhone is still recognized by iTunes, there is no way to pull the pictures from it?
    Also, all my music is in the cloud, but I'm wondering if there is an automatic way to simply get all the music that I have already physically downloaded onto my old iPhone onto the new without manually selecting each one.

    I'm about a week into my first Mac and loving it so far. I downloaded a visualization plug-in however and don't know how to get it started in iTunes. When I open the Mac HD icon I can see it there, but can't find it anywhere else. Can I open this program at all??? Other than this I have greatly enjoyed learning this new way of life.     does it need to be expanded? does it say something to the effect of choose an application? use stuffit expander. its free.

    Rather new still to L.E. In another topic, some people talked about a cool plug-in that they used and I went to try it out. I've got it on my desktop, but don't know where I'm supposed to put it. I tried the Library/Audio/Plugins/Components folder but nothing. I also have an application which I put in the Applications folder but still nothing.     Assuming that it's an AU plug-in, that's the correct location.
    It may be that LE didn't verify the plug-in, in which case it would not be available to you in LE.
    (a number of AU's don't verify in LE, but are still available in other apps, such as GarageBand)
    You can open your Logic AU Manager and see if it's listed there. If so, it will tell you its status.
