How do i import photos from an iphone
Hi,
How do i import photos from my iphone to Aperture? For some reason I'm at a lost. Could someone shed some light on this for a dummy!
Thanks,
Connect your iPhone to your Mac with the USB cable, then in Aperture do Cmd-i (Import) and you'll see your iPhone listed in the upper left corner. I'd suggest enabling the "Do not import duplicates" feature in Aperture so that you only get the new photos each time you do an import. It works great.

How do I import photos from my iPhone 5 to my new computer?
My old iMac was having HD issues when I became concerned about my iPhoto library, with several thousand pics. I backed up my old HD, then when I got my new iMac, I restored all the files, but not all the apps, since I think old apps were slowing things down. When I opened the new desktop, I found an iPhoto 1 library, that had popped up on my old Mac. I don't have any sign of my original iPhoto library, with the thousands of pics. However, I still have my pics on my phone, and I'm sure they must be on my backup drive. Any idea how I can import photos from my phone, or from a backup?
Thank you!First thing sfirst: get your iPhoto Library from the old machine to the new one, and working.
To move an iPhoto Library to a new machine:
Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network,Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
Then launch iPhoto. That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.
Then import your photos like you always did. -

How do I import photos from my iPhone 6 into Elements 13?
I connected my iPhone 6 to my computer, clicked Trust this Computer on the phone, and went to Organizer's photo downloader but it is not detecting any devices. If I click Refresh List, nothing happens. Meanwhile Windows Explorer recognizes that my iPhone is connected to my computer (which uses Win 8.1). What am I doing wrong? Seems like this should work.
Just curious:
If you try the Import process via 'From files or folders' instead of from 'Camera or card reader', are you able to see and select the location of your pictures? -

Photos that were synced from a computer won't show for copying to a computer. If you want to copy them back then you will need a third-party app on your phone such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to a device, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer (e.g. their dimensions might be different and their colours may look a bit different).

For photos taken with the iPhone or saved from emails/websites then on a PC you should be able to use the Windows Camera Wizard or just copy them via Windows Explorer (there is more info on this page).
