How do I import photos stored in iPhoto on my iPad to my computer?

I used the iPad camera connector to import photos from my SD card to iPhoto on the iPad. How do I get those photos and videos onto my Win 7 PC? Would be good if I can delete all my imported photos and videos too. iTunes have been installed.

Hi xkiller213,
Many thanks for your question today.
I am happy to assist you with this question.
This form of importing will only import images taken from you iPhone and iPad and save them to your computer.
If you want images edited on iPhoto you would need to go to:
iPhoto
Locate the image/s that you wanted on your computer/mac
Click the share button and click add to Photo Stream/Camera Roll (I believe that is the name)
This should add the image/s to you image library - of all the images taken on your iPhone
Then import the images again and then these newly added images should be added to your computer
If this does not work, what you could try is taking a screen shot of the image on iPhoto and then cropping this image and then importing.
However I just recently did the exact same thing as you have described taking a Christmas image and editing then saving to camera roll/photo stream and then when I imported them to my PC they were there and ready to be printed off.
I look forward to hearing from you in regards to this issue.

  • How to import photos from multiple iphoto libraries to iPad

How do I import photos from multiple iPhoto libraries from my iMac to the new iPad? I have 4 different iPhoto Libraries on my iMac.
I can import photos from  iPhoto library 1,  to the iPad, but when I import photos from iPhoto Library 2, created on my iMac to the iPad,
it deletes the original photos that I imported from the first iPhoto Library and replaces them with the import from library 2.
I only want to import selected photos from each library to my iPad. Can someone plese help me?

As Ralph has suggested, if you want to sync photos from your computer, you must include all photos that you want to sync - with each and every sync. You cannot import photos from another Main photo folder on the computer. You must create an all-in-one photo library in iPhoto and sync from that folder. You can select one level of sub folders from within that main folder, but all of those folders must be included in the main folder - in your case it is in iPhoto. That is just how the sync process works with Photos.
I don't know how using third party apps affects the photos that you have already synced from iPhoto, but take a look at these apps in this Google search. Maybe Wifi transfer is the way to go for you.

How do I import photos from my PC to my IPad?

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive (works the same with an SD card) into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

  • How do you import photos from the iPhoto library albums on the Mac to lightroom 5---i hit import but have no idea where to find iPhoto albums

how do you import photos from iPhoto albums on the mac to lightroom 5

Have you used the built-in migration plug-in? I'm not sure how LR handles iPhoto albums or events. there have been several reports indicating varying levels of success or otherwise, with import.

  • How do I import photos from my i-phone 4 to my home computer?

How do I import photes from my i-phone 4 to my home computer?

on PC, when your phone is plugged in to the computer, open up Computer and your phone will appear as any USB/external hard drive would. Then you can copy and paste on to your computer.  I am a little new to MAC and the only way i know how is to open iphoto and import from there. You can then select all the photos you want in in iphoto and drag them in to a folder that youd like to have them and they will copy automatically
    Hope this helps

  • After update iMovie and OS Yosemite recovery, iPhoto icon disappeared. How can I find photos stored on iPhoto?

I am using iOS Yosemite 10.10.3. After update iMovie version 10.10.08 and OS Yosemite Recovery. iPhoto icon disappeared. I opened the Photos icon but all my images which used to be in iPhoto were not there. How do I access those images in iPhotos?

Go to Finder>Applications and open the iPhotos app.
Apple want you to use the new Photos app which now should be in your Dock. Photos will import your iPhoto library

  • How can I import photos without using iPhoto?

I'm 37, a lifetime PC/Windows user and have finally made the switch to Mac after years of using every other Apple product, including iPod, iPhone and Apple TV, which, by the way, must be the most under-marketed and best value Apple product ever. I can't believe more people don't have Apple TV in their homes.
With PCs, I was used to importing pictures to my hard drive and then viewing and editing them with whatever software applications I wanted. With my Mac, I notice that when I insert my SD card, iPhoto starts and asks me to import, which I agree. Unfortunately, it imports the images to an iPhoto folder that I can't easily access from another program, such as PhotoshopElements. I have read how to use Finder to navigate to these imported images in the iPhoto library ("Show Package Content") and then I copy the folder of images and paste it to a folder in my "Pictures" directory in Finder, but I find this tedious and also redundant as I now I understand I basically have two copies of every image, one for iPhoto Library and the other for accessing via other programs, such as Photoshop.
Is there anyway I can simply import images straight to a folder on my hard drive?
Also, if I do choose to access these images via iPhoto, am I correct in assuming iPhoto will automatically create a duplicate folder, just for accessing in the iPhoto library? If so, isn't this a waste of hard drive space? Can this be avoided?
Thank you for any and all assistance.
    Kevin

Hi Kevin,  I am in the same boat as you having been buying PCs for the last 25 years and managing IT for SMEs I have now purchased my first Mac (mac mini).  My move to Mac started with the iPhone that led to the iPad then like you I succumbed to the beauty of the Apply TV that then led to the purchase of an Airport Express.  The love affair had to conclude in the purchase of a Mac!
For many years I have used the feature to have the date photos taken created as a folder and all photos from that date placed in that folder.  Every year I create a new folder for that year and the import on PC creates the daily folders to hold photos …
I was just about to ask how I can keep doing this and realised it’s not as important as I thought – I’ll still create a folder for each year and just have the photos dumped in there.  I can sort in Finder by date taken and catalogue in any way I won’t.
I’ll still use folders rather than iPhoto as I want other software like XBMC (on other OS)  to read the photos.
Thanks for letting me rant – I thought I will post anyway as this is my first Apple post and it may assist others.

  • How do I import photos from another iPhoto library?

Hi. I'm trying to consolidate photos from three macbooks into one central iphoto library on a new mac mini. I started by copying the iphoto library of the largest onto the new mac mini and replaced the existing (empty) library on the new mini. All is good - that's one macbook down.
How do I import the photos from the other two though? I attempted to bring them over using File -> Import to Library, but when I navigate to the iphoto libraries of the other macbooks, the iPhoto library itself is greyed out so I can't select it.
I want to import the photos, events, albums, etc.
    Any way to do this?
    Thanks for any assistance.

Never import one Library to another. Every version and thumbnail is imported like a distinct photo, you lose all your Albums, Keywords etc., the link between Original and Previews is destroyed, the non-destructive editing feature is ruined and so on. In summary: it's mess.
I want to import the photos, events, albums, etc.
So you want to merge the libraries? The only way to do that is with the paid ($20) version of  iPhoto Library Manager
    Regards

  • How do I delete photo albums in iphoto on my ipad?

How do I delete albums in iphoto on my iPad?

Photos or albums are not deleted in iPhoto for iOS since
iPhoto for iOS uses the photos stored in the Photos app.
You can delete photos stored in the photos app that were taken by the iPad, copied from websites, received via photostream or received in an email directly on the iPad.
To delete albums copied to the iPad during a sync with your computer you need to do another sync. Once your iPad is connected to your computer deselect the albums in the Photos tab of iTunes that you no longer want on the iPad and then click on Apply or Sync.

  • How Do I Import photos from my iPhotos to my MacBook Air?

    Hi All,
I imported the photos in my iPod camera to my MacAir.  I discovered that I still have photos in my iPod iPhotos.  I can't figure out how to import all of those photos onto my MacAir.  What's steps must I take in order to complete this task?

    Hey Illaass,
I was in the process of trying to delete those photos, but I have a question.  I'm in TouchCopy and I clicked on the "Files" in order to trash those pics.  I noticed that there are two files: PhotoData and Photos.  Is the Photos file just my pics on the iPod?  If so, is this the file I would delete in order to clean out my iPhotos?  I would hate to hit the Delete button only to discover that I actually cleared my entire photo library on my Mac.
Thanks for your time and advice.

  • HT201250 How do I restore photos stored in iPhoto from old backups?

I'm desperate for some photos I downloaded a few days ago and they were missing the next day.  I'm not sure if they were back up or not and have no idea where they went.

If your intention is to recover additional photos from those already in your iPhoto Library and intend using a "Restore" from Time Machine or another source, first keep a copy of the original "iPhoto Library" with a different name, to avoid over-writing.
You can hold the Opt key while opening iPhoto to see what libraries are present on the system and select one to see the contents.
If you want to merge the two libraries, there is a facility in "iPhoto Library Manager" to do so.  It has other functions, to search for duplicates etc. I have not tried this and am not sure how successful it is at keeping album structures and photos with the same name but different contents.

Always keep external backup copies of originals during such operations.

  • How do I import video stored in iPhoto '11 to iMovie '11?

I have a video in iPhoto.  I want to import it to iMovie for editing.  I am unable to drag and drop and cannot figure out how to import it to iMovie.  I have searched iMovie help and find nothing.  I searched iPhoto help: importing video from iPhoto to iMovie and found nothing.  Appreciate any step by step help.

Open iMovie. You should see both a Project browser and an Events Browser. The Events Library list is on the left hand side of the Events Browser. You should see an Event titled "iPhoto Events". Click it, and you should see your iPhoto video.

  • Is there a way to import photos stored in iPhoto into Adobe Bridge CS6?

I am having a problem opening my iPhotos in Adobe Bridge or Photoshop. Any help would be appreciated.

    1. Bridge or iPhoto: take your pick. The both do the same job so using both makes no sense. Trying to use them both will add confusion and complexity that you don't need.
    2.  You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> Advanced -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.

  • HOW DO I IMPORT PHOTOS BY FILE NAME TO THE IPAD 2

I need to organize my photos in my ipad by the file names that i have on my computer. I use a windows computer.
    Anyone have any suggestions?

    See this article:
iOS and iPod: Syncing photos using iTunes: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236
(the title says iPod, but it should work for iPad as well)
You need first to connect your iPad to your PC for the sync options to be available:
Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed.
In iTunes, select your device's icon in the Devices list on the left.
    Click the Photos tab.
    Choose "Sync photos from."
