How do I import Signatures to a new user

I have a new employee started and have created him a new account under Tiger on the same computer.
I want to copy the ex employees signatures to the new employes mail account but although I can copy the signatures out of the old mail signatures folder I can't get them to show up when I paste them into the new mail signatures folder. I also cannot import his sigs using the mail import as when I navigate to the old mail folders under the old user they are locked or rather I am not allowed to.
When in mail prefs they just don't show up. I know that this is possible because I have done it in the past for other new employees. I just can't remember how.
We use several sigs as templates for replies to emails.
Thanks

Hi Ben,
I also cannot import his sigs using the mail import as when I navigate to the old mail folders under the old user they are locked or rather I am not allowed to.
On that one, I'd do a Get Info on the old one in the Finder, change the Rights/Privileges to match the new employess.

It should be like the very first time you synced your phone with I-Tunes. It will notice you haven't synced before and just copy everything from your phone into I-Tunes. It shouldn't delete anything from the phone, at least it never has for me. It just puts a copy of everything into I-Tunes and even if you delete an app for example from your phone and you decide you want it back later, you can just go back into I-Tunes and copy it back over. Hope this helps.

  • How can I give access to a new user for WebView Reporting Log In //IPCC Enterprise

    Hi All,
How can I give access to a new user for the WebView Reporting Log In ?
    I have IPCC Enterpise 7
    Thanks

Two options: 1. In configuration manager on the AW, use the user list tool to add the users domain account and select Webview access permissions. 2. Using standard Microsoft Active Directory tools or the Cisco Domain Manager tool, add the desired AD user account into one of the "WebView" security groups created within the Cisco OU.

  • How to move Closed Notification to a new user?

How to move Closed Notification to a new user? Anybody help! Thanks!

    Hi,
The ideal scenario is that you don't notify a user - you notify a role instead. Roles don't get sick, get made redundant, retire, leave etc. etc. - however, it's easier said than done.
Although it's probably not supported, I can see no harm in doing a direct table update on WF_NOTIFICATIONS to modify the recipient role. However, I would question the logic of keeping old notifications in the system - if you run the standard purge routines (and you should be!), then that will clear out the old notifications automatically.
Additionally, I would be wary of reassigning old notifications - it would blow the audit trail completely if you move a closed notification between users (which is why there is no API for it). If Bill approved a purchase order for £1 million, and then left, I would expect (and need!) the history to shown exactly who did it, rather than a completely different user.
I'd be astounded if Oracle does anything with any enhancement requests for Workflow any more, even if they were for things that made sense.

  • How do I import video from my new Canon FX300?

How do I import video from my Canon FX300 into FCP?

It's probably got no connection with your problem but just to rule it out, trash your preferences  .  .  .  it'll only take a minute so you've nothing to lose.
Many weird things happen as a result of corrupt preferences which can create a vast range of different symptoms, so whenever FCP X stops working properly in any way, trashing the preferences should be the first thing you do using this free app.
    http://www.digitalrebellion.com/prefman/
Shut down FCP X, open PreferenceManager and in the window that appears:-
    1. Ensure that only  FCP X  is selected.
    2. Click Trash
The job is done instantly and you can re-open FCP X.
There is absolutely no danger in trashing preferences and you can do it as often as you like.
The preferences are kept separately from FCP X and if there aren't any when FCP X opens it automatically creates new ones  .  .  .  instantly.

  • How do I import old photos into new iPhoto library?

I have a new macbook pro running iphoto 11.  I am trying to import my photos onto the new computer from my old computer, running iphoto 8.  I mounted the old computer as a hard disk, but when I go to import the photos into new iphoto library on the new computer, the old iphoto library is "grayed" out under the users/pictures/iphoto location.
How do I transfer the photos?

To move an iPhoto Library to a new machine:
Link the two Macs together: there are several ways to do this: Wireless Network,Firewire Target Disk Mode, Ethernet, or even just copy the Library to an external HD and then on to the new machine...
But however you do choose to link the two machines...
Simply copy the iPhoto Library from the Pictures Folder on the old Machine to the Pictures Folder on the new Machine.
    Then launch iPhoto. That's it.
This moves photos, events, albums, books, keywords, slideshows and everything else.

  • Moving All The Important Stuff to a New User Account. What to take?

It's been quite an eventful week and, because I can't turn %%$$! FileVault off on my original user account, I've just decided to move over to my back up account. "Brian" now has Admin abilities but I was wondering about the process of getting Brian to look/feel just like my original, now f'ed up account. Is it just about putting the Preferences file folder onto an ext. HD and putting it into the new account's Library? (I've managed to screw things up REAL BAD messing about with my Preferences Folder. I really don't want to go through that again!)
Anyway, anything else beside the above folder? I've got all my music and photos/movies already on the Ext. HD. I'm so mad at the Brianhardy account, I really look forward to deleting it. (No, that doesn't make any sense...)
Finally, how do I pick a better picture for brian for the users window? Nothing against dogs but.......
    Thanks.
    Brian

    Hi Brian
I went through what you are currently describing for the same reason as yours: disabling FileVault. Let me give you a few suggestions.
First of all, what I did is I actually went through all the files in the Preferences folder, to choose the ones I really wanted to move to the new account. There were so many obsolete preference files in there remaining from uninstalled apps that it was worth seriously cleaning up this folder.
Second, the Preferences folder is probably not the only folder in your Library you want to migrate. I'll give you a list of the stuff I migrated, but some of if might not apply to you.
My address book. It was corrupted, so I ended up exporting all the contacts, group by group, and importing them into the fresh, new address book on the new account. But you might not have to go through this trouble.
My calendars. I am a .Mac subscriber, so I synced over .Mac between the two accounts. (Be careful, it is a bit more tricky than it sounds). Same for all the stuff that can be synced (see the .Mac preference pane): Safari bookmarks, email accounts and rules, keychain... For some reason the keychain sync did not work, so I had to do the same export-import procedure as for my address book, except I had to give my password for every item in the keychain... :S I can type my password pretty fast, now :P
/Library/Application Support/iWeb if you use iWeb to create websites, which I don't recommend, after fighting with it for quite a while (but I haven't tried iLife'08 yet). More generally, you should have a look into this Application Support folder to see if anything in there is worth migrating.
    /Library/Mail
/Library/Sounds because I had put lots of custom sounds in there that I can use for iCal alarms
    /Library/Widgets
By the way, after migrating to this new user, I decided NOT to make it an admin, and to create a second new user with admin rights. I read this makes your mac more secure. Whenever you do something that requires admin rights, you enter the username and password of this admin user.
I also kept the old user for a while, just in case I realize later that there is something I forgot to migrate (which happened a couple of times). I just deleted it a few days ago.
Changing a user's picture can be done in the Accounts preference pane in the System preferences.
    Good luck

  • How to create a jobsteps for a new user to run a report on portal

    Hello Experts,
Is there any program that automatically creates a jobsteps for the new users for
    a role??
My company BW roles are mapped with R/3. so whenever a new user is created in a R/3 role
it comes and maps with BW Role and creates that users automatically in BW.
Now the problem is if any new users are created in r/3 and mapped with BW. the report
fails to run for the new users unless and until they really login in to the system.
For ex: I have 5 new users which are created in R/3 and properly mapped with BW. But
report fails to runs for the new users.
ERROR: Jobs step fails for the User X
Is there any programe that automatically creates a jobsteps for the new users??
    Please advice.
    Thanks in advance,
    Harish

    Hello Kedar,
Do you manually add a new users to the role??

  • How to resolve error -200428 ?? New User

I am a new user of LabView which is supporting a 1331 Instron. I am attempting to get data from the Instron into a LabView program left by another sutdent. When I attempt to run the software, it detects the connection to the Instron but when I try to log the data I get the following error,
"The following error occurred during the application:
    Code: -200428
SourceL Property Node DAQmxTiming (arg 1) in DAQmx
Timing (Sample Clock). vi:1 --> Instron system top level amy modified14.vi <append>
    <B> Task Name: <\B>MyVoltageTask"
can anyone help, I believe it might have to do with failure to update the software etc. ...

    Hey kpatil,
What version of LabVIEW are you working with. I am unfamiliar with this '1331 Instron'. Is this device a PCI based data acquisition card? The error message refers to a Task by the name of "MyVoltageTask." How did you come across this code. Is this code that was something developed on that machine and you are now just picking it up again. Or is this legacy code that was developed once upon a time and you happen to be using it on your current machine? The reason why I ask is because if this code is referring to specific tasks or devices and they are not in the same location, you may have some troubles. Also, this error occurred in one of the parameters of the DAQmx Timing Property Node, that would be a good place to start to figure out what is causing the error.
    Hope this helps.

  • How do I move files to a new User?

I recently upgraded my MacBook from Snow Leopard to Lion and afterwards I noticed the font had changed in my mail preview and in other places such as when on Safari.   I went to the Genius Bar and after 3 hours of trying this and that the tech figured out that there was a problem with my User files.   He made another User and logged in with that and everything looked fine.   His original thought process was to reload the font (Helvitica Neue) but that never worked.  He suggested wiping the drive clean, reinstalling Lion and then the rest of my files from backup.    I really don't want to have to do this.
Is there some way to easily move everything to my new User?

  • My Vostro is trashed. I salvaged the hard drive and have it in a cage. I was able to save my bookmarks as an HTML file. How can I import them into a new computer? I asked a similar question yesterday and the solution did not work.

I have the original hard drive in a cage (i.e., I can not boot to it or load applications from it). I can access any file on the old drive from the new computer. I have also saved the bookmark file as an html file. I was given a solution to import from the html file that does not work.
How can I get my old bookmarks moved to my nes hard drive?

I plugged my old drive into an identical Vostro and saved my bookmarks per the instructions. Later, when I check the file, it was in html format. While waiting for the replacement laptop to arrive, I put my old (Vostro) hard drive into a case so I could access the files. I have been able to launch web pages from the file bt accessing them through My Documents so I know the file is good. The problem is, I apparently need to convert them into a JSON file in order to use them. There is a set of instructions on the Mozilla/Firefox website but that method does not work.

  • Imac has crashed..need new hard drive....had external drive connected...was using time machine.....so...itunes file should be on external drive....how do i import them to my new mac mini?

my iMac has crashed...was told I need a new hard drive.....meantime I bought a mac mini.....I had an external drive connected to the mac....and was using time machine for backups....so....how do i move itunes music files to my new mac mini from the external drive?

Turn Time Machine OFF temporarily in its preference pane. Leave the window open.
Navigate in the Finder to your backup disk, and then to the folder named "Backups.backupdb" at the top level of the volume. If you back up over a network, you'll first have to mount the disk image file containing your backups by double-clicking it. Descend into the folder until you see the snapshots, which are represented by folders with a name that begins with the date of the snapshot. Find the one you want to restore from. There's a link named "Latest" representing the most recent snapshot. Use that one, if possible. Otherwise, you'll have to remember the date of the snapshot you choose.
Inside the snapshot folder is a folder hierarchy like the one on the source volume. Find one of the items you can't restore and select it. Open the Info dialog for the selected item. In the Sharing & Permissions section, you may see an entry in the access list that shows "Fetching…" in the Name column. If so, click the lock icon in the lower right corner of the dialog and authenticate. Then delete the "Fetching…" item from the access list. Give yourself read access if you don't already have it. Click the gear icon below the list and select Apply to enclosed items from the popup menu.
Now you should be able either to copy the item in the Finder or to restore it in the time-travel view. If you use the time-travel view, be sure to select the snapshot you just modified. If successful, repeat the operation with the other items you were unable to restore. You can select multiple items in the Finder and open a single Info dialog for all of them by pressing the key combination option-command-I.
When you're done, turn TM back ON and close its preference pane.

  • How do I import music files to new computer from external hard drive containing them

Have an older computer(G5 iMac) with Tiger 10.4.11 and iTunes that crashed.  Have that computer and older version of iTunes residing on an external hard drive.  I want to import music to new comptuer with newer version of iTunes.  External hard drive is partitioned with just iTunes section.  Any one done this before?

If you want to use the old iTunes library that you have from the ext HD then just drag the iTunes folder to the new Mac.
By default the iTunes folder Is Located - HD>Users>Your Account>Music>iTunes - if the internal HD has no iTunes library then just replace the iTunes folder with the one from the ext HD.
Launch iTunes with the 'option' key down and point iTunes to the iTunes Library that you want to open. It will remember the next time.
