How do I import without turning my videos into negatives?
I shoot with a Canon 5d Mark ii with NTSC mode. Every time I import into premier pro and play video it is playing in what looks like negative film. Maybe I didn't set up my sequence right? Help?

Thanks for your interest and time. Sorry I did not explain myself initially.
The files I was trying to import were saved as Pinnacle Studio “project” files. So they must be .stx, as you say. In Windows Explorer I cannot determine the file extension; all I can see is the project folder name and subfolder names.
Now that I think about it, when I was last working in Pinnacle at least two years ago, I had the option on how to save my files and I saved them as “project.” In fact all of the backed up videos are under an overarching folder named my video projects.
I did find two backed up files with an .avi extension, which did import.
So the best solution would be to find a computer to borrow that has Pinnacle installed and open and save the files to export as .avi. If that doesn’t work, I will try to find a trial version of Pinnacle to use.
Years ago a coworker told me to buy Adobe Premiere instead of Pinnacle. I wish I had listened.

The resulting video is made into 4:3 format and squashed up!
When I import into iDVD the video is pillar boxed even when selecting widescreen project.

iMovie simply takes your footage for what it really is: standard 4:3 with a letterbox.
you could try capturing with a different software like Vidi or BTV Pro:

I imported an hour of video into iMovie HD and cut it down to a 33 sec clip, and emptied the trash. When I save the project, the file size is 20Gb. How can I save just the 33 sec clip?
Non-destructive editing is an important feature of iMovie HD 6.
iMovie preserves the entire copy of every clip you place into your movie in case you change your mind at a later stage.
So, if you have cut out one minute from a 45 minute clip, iMovie will have stored two complete copies of that clip. This is why is helps to set import as 3-5 minute clips rather than one huge chunk. As DV runs at 13GB per hour your project files can get very big.
One workaround is to complete the editing of a section of the movie, then export that to Quicktime: highlight the clip/s, choose Share-Quicktime, turn on Share selected clips only, and choose Full Quality from the pop-ip menu.
Once you have saved the stand-alone clip to your hard drive, you can re-import it into your project using the File/Import command, and delete the original long clip/s from the project. -

How do I import Map Info Tab files into Spatial for a map of europe?
How do I import Map Info Tab files into Spatial for a map of europe via FME and have oracle spatial draw the map without problems?
So far I've got to the stage where I can import the data, spatially index it (in oracle 9i) and get my SVG (scaleable vector graphics) application to view the map.
The problem is that countries that have more than one polygon (more than one row in the database) do not draw properly.
When I view the Map Info tab file in the FME viewer I can see that the data is fine, but I can also see that some of the polygons used to draw a country are donugts and some aren't.
This seems to cause a problem when I import the data into oracle spatial as I don't know if a row in the table needs to be inserted as an independent SDO_GEOMETRY or if it should form part of a larger SDO_GEOMETRY (as in 2 or more rows make up the polygon shape for a country).
I have a feeling that I'm not using FME correctly, because at the moment I have to import the tab file into Oracle then re-insert the data into a spatially formatted table (one with a spatial index) - I get the impression that FME should do that for me but as I'm new to this I don't really know.

MapInfo has a free utility called EasyLoader that allows you to upload a table directly to Oracle. EasyLoader creates the geometries and spatial index. You can download it free from http://www.mapinfo.com/products/download.cfm?ProductID=1044

I for one appreciate all the hardwork and help you have been giving the people on theses lists, especially with the problems associated with the "importing playlists" from windows media. Unfortunately I need more help if you or someone else can provide it. I followed all the steps you have instructed so far in the threads I have seen. Unfortunately nothing so far works for me. Maybe you or someone can help me, I'd really appreciate it. I tried the notepad++ method and when I click on save I always get a notepad file that my iTunes can't do anything with. I click the "convert to UTF-8 without BOM" then click save as and it still saves as a notepad file. I am also unable to find the \n\ file path to replace with my \C:\ filepath. Here is one way to do it, although you will see there could be variations.
1) Open iMovie
2) Start a new project - name it Stills for iPhoto (or a name of your choice)
3) Go to your EVENT. Find the spot with the cursor that you want a photo of. Right-click (or control-click if you don't have a mouse) and select ADD STILL FRAME TO PROJECT.
4) The photo should be in the Project called Stills for iPhoto.
5) Right-click (control-click) on the photo and select REVEAL IN FINDER.
6)When the finder window opens, right-click and select COPY. Go to your Desktop or a folder of your choice and right-click PASTE
7) Drag the photo from your Desktop to iPhoto -

Should I import GoPro camera protune videos into FCPX? Or do I have to use the GoPro software to convert it somehow before importing it? I find that the protune video have an extreme level of noise in low light situation. Is this a sign that FCPX should not be used directly with such videos?
You probably can import the media and optimize it when you import. Without knowing the complete specs of the original files it's hard to say. You may need to convert it rather than optimize it. If you do convert it use the free MPEG Streamclip, which is excellent. Convert to QuickTime using the ProRes codec.
If there is a lot of noise in the dark images it will will very hard to fix. There is a a DeNoiser from Neat Video that works well, though I'm not sure it isn't broken in the current version. Converting the video is not going to fix this. -

Is Photoshop capable of turning RAW videos into videos? There is such thing as RAW video. Cameras that can shoot 4K such as Canon 7D, Blackmagic, and other 4K cameras are capable of shooting videos in RAW.
How are you doing the save? Just choosing File - Save?
Photoshop remembers the last "master file" format you saved something in. If the current document is capable of being saved in that format, it will default to that format for the next save.
What happens if you do the following:
1. Open your raw file, and edit it.
2. File - Save As, and in the Save as type field choose Photoshop (*.PSD;*.PDD).
3. Complete the save operation.
I'm betting that will result in your having saved a PSD format file.
In summary, change your habit to use File - Save As to save your master document and you can't go wrong.

Fortunately I found on the comments of the first website you mentioned the right answer for me, which I copy below:
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account > Other > Add CardDav Account.
Enter the following information in the fields:
Server: google.com
User Name: Enter your full Google email address
Password: Your Google account password
Select Next at the top of the screen to complete the setup.
After you have completed the setup, open the Contacts app on your device. Syncing should begin automatically.
Additional Information
Note: Make sure that SSL is enabled (under Advanced settings), and that the port is 443.
If you are using application based special password go to https://accounts.google.com/Se... and instead of your password put that special code and u r done.
