How do I improve Adobe Elements 10 use on my Mac?

We purchased a iMac not too long ago and there is hardly anything on the harddrive, yet Elements keeps giving me a hard time and often freezes or will give me the error message "Unable to open file not enough memory" Am I able to uninstall and reinstall elements to fix the problem? It's running VERY slow compared to my old laptop...which is disapointing.

How much RAM memory do you have installed?
If it is the stock 4 GBs of RAM this is not enough RAM.
OS X, by itself, needs 3-4 GBs of RAM just for it to run fast, efficiently and smoothly.
Your iMac can take up to 32 GBs of RAM.
Adobe products, especially Photoshop (yes, even Photoshop Elements) need lots of RAM and hard drive space.
Whatever size the image you bring into Photoshop, once you start working on the image in PS, the working file size increases to 3-4 times the original size of the image in addition to PS eating up more RAM memory, graphics and processor resources.
My advice, install at least another 4 GBs of RAM for a total of 8 GBs of RAM.
If you can afford to add more do it. OS X and PS will always benefit from more RAM.
You shouldn't have to add any more than 16 GBs of RAM max. for what you are using your iMac for.
Purchase compatible and reliable RAM from online sources Crucial RAM or OWC.

Hi I do have the Canon Pro 9000 Mark II printer as the default printer.
I just tried a couple of things. I tried printing the photo from the ORGANIZER and it printed fine. Then I tried again to print the same photo from the EDITOR and got this message:
Before you can perform printer-related tasks such as page setup or printing a document, you need to install a printer.
So it looks like the ORGANIZER recognizes my Canon printer, and the EDITOR does not!   How can that be?

There have been many reports about this problem with HP printers. Get the SDK and start playing with the sample plug-ins. Asking for something as general as "how do I get started" is asking a little much from this forum :) Try your hand at the SDK and come back to ask more specific questions as you run into them.
Bear in mind that this isn't an Xcode forum either, though I'm sure there are places to get good help on that!

Go to the Apple menu and select "About This Mac". You will get a window similar to this one -
You current OS X version number will be shown as I've marked.
OS X 10.4.x is Tiger, 10.5.x is Leopard, 10.6.x is Snow Leopard, 10.7.x is Lion, and 10.8.x is Mountain Lion.
Whether or not you can go to the latest OS X version depends upon your hardware -
You will need to purchase the retail set for the OS X version you want; there is no pint in getting and installing any intermediate versions. Once the retail version has been installed, you can update it to the latest release for that version via download updater.

How do iPhoto and Adobe Elements Organizer compare?

I just installed Photoshop Elements 13 and am curious how others compare iPhoto 11 and Adobe Elements Organizer 13 compare.

To use PSE 13 as the external editor in iPhoto be sure to select the correct file when selecting PSE from iPhoto's Advanced preference pane. It should be the Photoshop Elements Editor.app and not the Adobe Elements 13 Organizer.app. With PSE 10 the editor app was located in the Support Files folder.
With iPhoto 9 if you edit a photo with PSE and do just a Save (i.e. no layers and you're saving as jpeg) iPhoto will recognize the edit, change the thumbnail accordingly. You can do further edits with PSE on that photo or do a Revert to Original on it to get back to the original file.
However, that edited version can't be edited with iPhoto without duplicating the edited file in iPhoto and then editing the duplicate. This message comes up:

Hello,
thtis is not how it works. You don´t use this coding to display the form in WD. In fact WD is handling the form itself. If that is a print form, you just need to place the Interactive form element on your WD screen, specify the template source (the form template) and do the coding in WD init. And there is no problem if the form is SFP based.
If this one is an interactive one, you need to set enable to true and do NOT use SFP based template. Also use the right form elements according to your layout type (ACF, ZCI), for ZCI insert the WD script.
I can provide some more details if there will be any other problem/ detail.

How can I script Adobe Reader updates using vbScript, PowerShell or C#?

I would like to script Adobe Reader updates using vbScript, PowerShell or C#, are there any Adobe API calls I use to do this. There are several different version that I support and auto update is not an option. I do updates at a specific time of the month. I would like to write a script that would download and install the update for the currently installed version of Adobe Reader (32 or 64 bit) for the version of the OS (32 or 64bit). I can detect the OS version and the Adobe version. I can download updates but I do not want to hard code anything

Sabian is correct.
Most admins download the updates from the ftp site and push via AIP, GPO, SCCM, or some other method whenever it makes sense for them.

It probably can't be turned on at all. I suspect that your liquid damage has finally died a corrosion death on your logic board.
All you can do at this point is take the machine into your local Apple Store/AASP and have them diagnosis the problems and give you an estimate for repair.

How can I improve Adobe CS5 performance?

I have got a trial of Adobe Creative Suite 5 on a PC at work and so far it's ok but it's really lagging. The PC currently has an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 @ 2.66GHz, 4GB DDR2 Ram, 160GB Hard Drive and an Integrated Intel Graphics Chip.
Will adding a dedicated graphics card improve CS5's performance? I have read on forums that Mac users use a 2nd hard drive as a 'scratch disk' for the likes of photoshop which improves the performance but not sure how to implement that.
Any ideas would be great.

The intergrated graphics may well be taking about system RAM. Additionally, you didn't state your operating system but I recommend Win 7 64 bit with a boat load of RAM.
Fast harddrives with a dedicated scratch disk will help, also.

This is not the best way to write JavaScript in Portal environment!
You can't be sure that a form is the first in the html source!
In Portal you change the order of your portlets, and also you can have several instances of the same portlet on the same page!!!
You should use qualified form and field names!

i am using DOM to parse an xml file. But i dont know how to cinfig the DocumentBuilderFactory to ignore empty text elements.
For example, i have an xml file like this:

I just dont understand why factory.setIgnoringElementContentWhitespace(true) did not work.That only does something if the XML has a DTD that enables it to know what whitespace can be ignored and what is significant. The API documentation for the method refers you to this document:
