How do I increase image resolution?

Not sure what the reason is but when I add photos to a group chat they're the size of the average stamp making the subject of the photo completely unreadable. Is there any way to increase this?
Bandwidth is definitely not an issue for me or anyone involved in the group chat.

Hi,
You may change the Resolution using the HP Scan application as following:
Click HP Scan at the top and then click Preferences.
Within the launched windows select the required Resolution.
close the Preferences window and perform the scan.

  • Increasing image resolution in iphoto

How do I increase the resolution of my images in iphoto? I want them to be at 300 dpi instead of 72 dpi. I shoot in jpeg. I don't have a "tools" icon at the top of my screen.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. 300 dpi only comes into play when you want to print the photo. What are the pixel dimensions of your image? Divide them by 300 and you'll get the print size you can achieve at 300 dpi. iPhoto just reports the display resolution which is 72 ppi, pixels per inch.
If you print the same picture at 8 x 10 and 3x5 you'll get two widely different resolutions.
You can find out more about that in The Myth of DPI.

  • How do I increase photo resolution?

Hi there, I have iphoto 6 and have imported all of my digital photos onto this. I like to use websites like photobox for printing photos but whenever I try to do this it says that the resolution of the photos imported from iphoto is too small.
Please can someone let me know how to increase the resolution? I am incredibly untechnical and just want to be able to print off photos that are of a decent quality!
    Thanks in advance
    Lulu

    The information box says 2304 x 3072
THose are nice 7 meg photos so unless you are accessing the incorrectly or trying to print very large photos you are fine
To upload the photos you should select the photos you want in iPhoto, export them to a desktop folder as actual size JPEGs, upload them and then delete the folder from your desktop - If you are pulling them directly from your iPhoto library you are in danger of corrupting your library and you can easily get the wrong size photo

This is really a big Never No Mind. Your photos are still the same quality but your computer cannot display at more than 72 dpi. Have a read of this:

  • How do I increase the resolution of the texturization preview window?

Hello, Illustrator noob here with a question regarding the texturization window. For some reason, every texture included (as well as one that I made in Photoshop), shows up in the Texturization window with a resolution of  about 20 x 20 pixels. Even the simple sandy texture I made with Photoshop is displayed with poor resolution. I have done some digging into the issue and cannot find an answer so I decided to post my question onto here.
Oh, and when I try File >> Place >> sand_texture.psd  and drag it into the Swatches window, the texture isnt added no matter what I try.
Thanks for reading, I have included an image of what I see when opening the Texturization window.
Oh: Windows  7 64 Bit, Illustrator CC

In reply to your second question, you cannot create Illustrator vector textures with any bitmapped images in them.
In general try to stay away from using any of the Photoshop Effects in Illustrator. They make your work look amateurish, and like it came out of the presets of a graphics program, rather than a commissioned design studio.
Popular effects such as gaussian blur do not scale in Illustrator Using gaussian blur  to create a glow or drop shadow for a logo is a bad choice.
We occasionally inherit brands started by another company that we have to rebuild their logo with objects that do scale. We cannot remove items off shelf that have been printed, but atleast the brand looks correct going forward. So keep in mind that though Adobe has pull down menus that say they do things, you need to keep an open mind and continually learn how to do things better and what to avoid doing.

  • How do I increase image of iPad when projecting through AppleTV and projector?

I have several AppleTVs hooked to either NEC or Mitshbishi projectors.  From iPads I connect to the AppleTVs via AirPlay and mirror.  The problem is that the iPad projected image is small and cannot be increased that much.  I have messed with resolution on both the AppleTVs and the projectors but the image size doesn't increase that much, even when I hit the Magnify button on the projector's remote.  It's especially small when holding the iPad in portrait, but increases somewhat while in landscape, but never completely fills the projector screen like the AppleTV homescreen or while projecting a laptop image.  Is there a way to increase the size of the projected iPad image?

    I have this same issue.
Is there an app that would work better for this?
I'd much rather use a text app in portrait mode, but if needed I can make snapshots of the screen and use images. But I also need the image or document scaled as large as possible on the projector screen.
Does anyone know of an app I should be using or solution?
I am a worship leader at a small church. I want to mirror my ipad from the platform so the other musicians can see the lyrics and chords. My ipad needs to be in portrait mode. Again, I'd much rather use a text app, but can work around using a image if I must.
    Thank you for your time,
    Dave

  • How  do I change image resolution to 72 ppi the length pixels going lower than 1920 pixels

    Hello,
I have an image that is 2550px x 3300px with a resolution of 300.  I would like to change this to a web jpeg with a resolution of 72ppi without  changed the length resolution to less than 1920. Everytime I try changing the resolution to 72 ppi it changes the size to less than the 1920 px size needed.
    Thank you,Jan

An image has some pixels real information these make up the bulk of any image format file size.   DPI is a resolution setting that defines what the size of a pixel is. Pixels have no size till there is a resolution specified. your  2550px x 3300px resolution can be set to 72 not a single pixel will change only the size of the image will.  A device that honors resolution will now render the image 35.4" x 45.8" instead of the old 300 setting which would render the image 8.5" x 11"  This is how Image size works when resample is not checked.  If you check Resampel the number of pixels an image has will change. You will wind up with a new  image with a different number of pixels interpolated the the old image that will no longer exist not a single pixel remains of the old image.  So if you open image size on your image you will see 8.5"x11" at 300DPI.
Check resample change to pixels and change 3300 to 1920  you will see Photoshop set the width to 1484 px. and the resolution be 300DPI.
Open the image dialog again. Un-check resample and you will see Photoshop change the width and height to  4.947"x6.4" now change the 300 DPI to 72 DPI you will see Photoshop change the width and height to 20.611" x 26.667" the pixesl will remain 1484px x 1920px. This is how image size works.

  • How can I change image resolution ?

I want to make an application :
    1: user upload an image
2: he define 2 points, and the program was told the distance
between 2 points to be 5 inches
3: change the resolution of the image to be 125 pixels/inches
    any idea?thank you

I managed to write a VI that can reduce the resolution of bitmaps. It was tedious. I would still like a solution that can increase or decrease the resolution.

  • How do you increase image quality when importing from Illustrator?

I have a logo that I created in Adobe Illustrator that I'm trying to place in Muse.  Every time that I do so, it's very low quality, fuzzy and pixelated.  After doing some reading around the discussion board, I tried resizing the image in both Illustrator and Photoshop so that I wouldn't have to do so in Muse.  That didn't help at all.  I also tried adding 1% transparency, which also did no good.  I know it's a high resolution image, so I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing wrong.
    Thoughts?

Is there a solid white rectangle behind the logo in AI? If not, please try again after putting a 100% opaque white rectangle behind it.
When smoothing the edges of content (anti-aliasing), the options are limited if the background color is not specified (transparent). If the background colors are known and 100% opaque, then much higher quality anti-aliasing can be achieved.
PNG preserves transparency. JPEG is opaque. When going to JPEG I would have expected AI to have performed high quality anti-aliasing, but perhaps that isn't the case. If you open the PNG and/or JPEG output from AI in Photoshop does it look pixelated there?

  • How can I increase the resolution of a picture used in the burned DVD?

My version is Elements 10 and I have always had a problem when making the main menu that included a picture.  Even if the picture is 12 MPixels it appears as if is less then 1 MPixels.

    VideoEditor
From what you wrote, you are not targeting the resolution of the DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc that you are producing in Premiere Elements. Rather you are targeting the disc menus that are applied to a given project destined for DVD-VIDEO on DVD . Difference.
What you get in the disc menus (main and scene) traces back to the creation of .psd files in Premiere Elements folders on the computer hard drive hard drive. There 3 different .psd sets for each theme. One "s" for standard, "w" for widescreen, and "hd" for high definition. Whether you are in NTSC or PAL, "s" and "w" have a frame size of 720 x 576, and "hd" 1440 x 1080.
The choices (what you see) for "hd" and non "hd" menus in the disc menus section of the program is determined by the project preset. If you have a "hd" project, you will get some "hd" choices mixed with non hd choices. When you pick one of the non hd choices, believe it or not, the program may give you the "s" 4:3 version of the .psd and not the "w" version. The details can be overwhelming.
    Bottom line:
You can set the resolution of your main menu inserts as high as you want, however you may crash the feature and or program and still not achieve better clarify/sharpness for the image in Disc Menu Preview or in playback of the final product. For the inserts, you can scale them to fit the insert space if black borders. Some buttons can be scaled to a larger size, of course within the limits of the total space provided and only if you do not create overlapping of the buttons.
Please review and if you need clarification on anything written, please do not hesitate to ask.
    Thanks.

  • How to increase the image resolution dpi

    Hi,
I am new with JAI, I am trying to increase the resolution of an image from 96dpi to 200dpi.
I founded "scale" operator, but this one resize affect only the with and the height of an image and the resolution remains unchanged.
    Could you help me, thanks.

iPhoto has no way to do that. You'll need an external editor for the job. Not all have the capability. I know Photoshop has.
You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.
