I'm streaming Netflix on my Macbook Air with Apple EarPods and the volume is too low for me to hear. I went to Sound in System Preferences and increased Output to the maximum; is there a way to increase the output of volume through the headphones?

Did you try that while on a phone call? Also there are different volumes for different devices. If you have your earbuds in and set a volume that will change the volume for when your earbuds are in. If you have a bluetooth headset you can set a volume for that.

Are you sure you increased the caller volume? This is only adjustable while in conversation. So, while you are calling you'll see a few icons on your screen and one of them is to adjust your caller volume.

How can I increase the volume of my text alerts without increasing call volume??
The alerts that are pre-programed on my phone for text alerts are very quiet. When I turn the volume up so that I can hear them then my call volume is embarrassingly loud. I have tried to get new tones in the store but they all seem to download to my ringtone - not text tones. I have even purchased (from the Verizon store) tones that are for texts, but again, they download into my call ringtones. Any suggestions would be great since I am a big texter and am getting very frustrated because of missing so many.

I know how you feel! Text messaging is my main means of communication so I use it all the time. I definitely don't want you missing any important text messages because you can't hear the alert.
Keep in mind that the volume level will increase or decrease the same for both calls and text alerts. You may notice that the ring tones options for the text messages are not as loud as the ones for calls. Unfortunately, there is no way to increase the volume for the text alerts without increasing the volume for the call alerts as well.
One thing you can try is turning in the Vibrate mode so the phone vibrates also when you receive a text messages. Visit http://vz.to/1aflRJ0 for steps.

I have an audio track, mp3, originally recorded in GarageBand, but with an recording level set too low. I've now adjusted the volume in the audio track to the max, but during playback it's still rather quiet. I have to turn the volume on my Mac to the max to have it at an acceptable playback level. Is the any why to increase the volume on that track any further?

I have changed my phone (iphone4s) thinking it was an issue with the headphones intially but then saw that it worked perfect in different handsets so thought it was an issue with the handset. When i went to apple they tried a pair of headphones on it and agreed the handset needed to be changed. When i received the new handset tried out youtube an everything was working fine. However, now i've put songs back on itunes it is happening again. I cant find any location in settings giving me the option to increase the volume.
What you are asking for is not possible in iMovie 8.
You will need to go back to iMovie 6 to do what you want.
OR pull the audio into some audio editing progam, adjust it there and re-import into your movie.

ITunes and burn to a CD the volume is down too low. How can I increase it?There is no problem. It is the fact that you need an extra step in music production to finalize a commercial song. THis step is called Mastering. It is basically applying multi-frequency compression, limiting and EQ to your mix, to raise the overall volume and to enhance the sound for any stereo configuration.
If you look and the master track in GarageBand you have EQ and Compression that you can use to get higher volumes (by reducing peaks), but the one GarageBand provides is not very good. I recommend using something like Ozone from Izotope or T-Rakcs. -
How can I increase the volume on my iPhone 4s using external speakers?
I used to have the iPhone 4 and I played my tunes through my PC external speakers (like using a pair of headphones). The maximum volume was extremely loud, and I never put it on full blast.
Recently, I upgraded to the iPhone 4s, and I've noticed a huge difference in the maximum volume - it is about 30% quieter than my old iPhone 4, and it sounds incredibly quiet while I'm using my external speakers, even if the speakers are at full.
I've also noticed that there is a Max Volume Warning which shows white/yellow/red volume bars when I turn the volume up - also my iPhone 4 never had. I believe there is a EU Volume Limit on iPhones, but I cannot understand why there is such a huge difference between the 4 and 4s.
Which also bugs me, is that my friend has recently upgraded to the iPhone 4s too, and he doesn't have the same problem as me. I tested his iPhone using my external speakers and the volume was much louder than mine. So we checked over all of his settings and compared them with mine, and they are ALL the same. Plus, neither of our iPhones are Jailbroken.
Does anyone has a solution to this? I can't find an answer anywhere..............

How can i increase the volume on bounced files.
for some reason when i'm working on songs, recording tracks, and importing files from Reason, the volume sounds normal.
when ever i bounce files the volume is lower than my other mp3s.
are there any particular settings that i have to use in order to have higher volume for the bounced file.
i'm really new at this software so i need a really dumbed down detailed explanation. i would really appreciate help on this subject.
macbook pro Mac OS X (10.4.6)Take a look at page 272 in the manual. In each channel strip there is the word "Inserts" and a little down arrow. If you click and hold a menu appears which contains a list of presets. There are predefined mastering settings under "01 Final Master (stereo)" and so on. I find these are more than good enough for demo's or as a place to start tweaking.

My friend bought a MacBook Air for work but it turned out that his office wasn't MAC friendly so he sold it to me. How do I change the user name/password to be mine?
