How do I install a custom ppd to create postscript files in Windows 7?

I recently got a new computer with Windows 7 and installed my Creative Suite on it. I can't however install adobe's universal postscript driver which enables me to use my custom ppd for my printer (not an actual machine printer but the print company I sent my files to for printing). I can't find any postscript driver from Adobe that work with Windows 7. I hope thats not the case. I know in InDesign I can print straight to a postscript file anyway, but there is ppd box with that option to select your custom ppd's. I just have no way of installing my custom ppd. I would think this would be a big problem for others in the print industry (well for those in the industry that use PC's which are few), but I'm not finding any discussions on this online. Can anyone help?

There never was an Adobe PostScript driver for either Windows 2000, XP, Vista, or 7. What was posted on the Adobe downloads site was an installer to associate a user designated PPD with the standard Windows PostScript driver (PSCRIPT). That installer does not work on any version of Windows beyond Windows XP, 32-bit. Adobe has no intention of updating that installer.
Workarounds include installing a driver for a different PostScript printer and then editing or replacing the PPD file associated with that PPD file after it has been installed. Alternatively, you can develop the appropriate .INF file pointing to your PPD file for use by the Add Printer wizard. Such a solution allows you to name the printer or pseudo-printer whatever you want.

Thanks for the response. I am VERY new at this. I did download ES File Explorer and opened it to these folders:
'aloqa'    'Android'    'DCIM'      'glogs'     'Lost.dir'        'media'      'slacker'     'VZNavigator'    'Yahoo'
and these two files:      'ATT00049'   (which is a picture from somewhere in my phone...nothing that I did) and
                                         'temp.apk'
I have opened everything and cannot locate my 'saved' audio file.
I saved my file again and noticed that it says "saved to phone memory".

I created a custom texture for my Illustrator files called "CanvasDP", but when I open the files Illustrator changes this custom file to "Canvas." I suspect this is because my CanvasDP.psd is in a new location (I moved all my files to Dropbox). Is there some way to permanently add my CanvasDP file to an Illustrator library (so it would automatically show up in the texture dropdown)? Or can I embed the CanvasDP file in the Illustrator file so the file always has direct access to it?
I have my custom texture applied to dozens of objects on dozens of layers ... in dozens of files! Going through and reapplying the texture by hand is totally impractical. There has to be a workaround.

I tried what you said, but I'm still getting the same strange result. When I apply the Swatch pattern to an object, it creates these strange off color regions that don't move. When I move the object shown in the screenshots below down, the off color regions remain in the same place on the screen. Very strange.

Note that the three characters between the dash and the 2 dots changes every time I try an install. I tried installing it on 2 different versions of FF on Windows.

We installed "Maverick" on our MacBook Pro and our printer is a HP 8600. We were unsuccessful in getting our Adobe Acrobat Professional 8 to print our PDF files. Instead, we got the error msg: Printing Stopped: unable to convert postscript file. We have used this application for years without any problems. How do we solve this problem so that our application WILL "convert postscript file" or do we have to spend several hundred dollars to upgrade?

I think we solved the problem. Instead of looking for the solution via Adobe, we went to our printer info online, which was the HP OfficeJet 8600. We found special printer drivers for our newly installed Maverick operating system for our MacBook Pro. After downloading and installing the new drivers per the directions, we tested printing a pdf document and it was printed without any problem.

Does anyone know how I can install Classic on a machine running 10.2.8, or alternatively how I can create proper PDFs from Quark without it??

Four methods:
1 copy a System Folder over from a Mac which has OS 9/Classic installed.
2 boot from an OS 9 CD and install OS 9. Most machines which run OS X 10.2.x should be able to boot OS 9 as well. Note that if the OS 9 drivers weren't installed when OS X was installed, if you did an erase install, then you'll have to back up your system, reformat in OS 9, install OS 9, then install OS X and restore your files. This might be more work than you want to do.
3 get an external FireWire drive and install OS 9 on that, then attach to the Mac and run Classic by pointing to that OS 9 System Folder.
4 if yours is one of the Macs which can't boot OS 9 though it'll run 10.2.x, it should have shipped with an installer which will install Classic for you.
or alternatively how I can create proper PDFs
from Quark without it??

Custom IDOC to create XML file

We are on 4.7 release.
A custom outbound IDOC type is developed to creates a text file at the location entered in FILE type port.
Now we want to create XML file intead of text file. Is it possible by simply changing the port to XML FILE port? Or do we need to do any modifications inside the FMs for the IDOC?
Similarly for Inbound scenario (using custom IDOC type), do we need any chagnes in FMs to handle IDOCS in XML file format?

You can even do that conversion of idoc to xml by simple method
create a xml port and use the standard fm there
and it wud handle that.
