How do I install a GPU that needs 6-pin power?

I am new to doing this, but I have a 2008 Mac Pro (3,1) that I am installing a GTX 650 Ti Boost (yeah I know cheesy name) into. So I need one of these booster cables for it because it has a 6-pin power input, and I'll buy one later. For now, I've seen guides where people take power from the optical drives for GPU instead of using the booster cable. Sorry, but I don't know the terminology here:
The card came with a wire that looks like a "Y" with 2 male 4-pin power cables, like the kinds that power IDE drives, going into one 6-pin cable that would go into the card. Do I have to plug in BOTH of the 4-pin cables from the optical drive bay into this "Y" cable for this to work properly? The guy in a YouTube video I watched did not, but I have doubts about that.
Here is what I have now. The "Y" cable I'm talking about is in it. I can't close the side of the computer. The computer is booting into Mountain Lion just fine and is not slow (unlike my Mac with the ATI HD 2600 card I used to have), but I tried a benchmark and did not get a very good score, so I don't know if I did this right.
Notice near the bottom-right the dangling 4-pin male cable. Only one of them is plugged in.
Second part of the question:
Is it OK if I take the entire optical drive bay out for the time being, or will that mess with the airflow? The cable is BARELY long enough, and I can't plug in both of the 4-pin cables if I have the bay there.

The 6-pin Aux power cable has three 12Volt leads and three grounds. Your motherboard has two such connectors on it, but they do not look impressive as they do not have substantial plastic housings around the pins.
Reputable vendors SHOULD be throwing one in the box if one is needed, but these are not inherently Macintosh cards, so they may decide not to.
The 4-pin Molex for a DVD reader has One 12Volt lead and one ground. You may be able to get by with two, but getting the proper 6-pin to 6-pin would be much better.

Another option if you have access to a second Mac with a drive is to connect the two together with the iMac in Target Disk Mode, Transferring files between two computers using FireWire, and installing from the Mac with the optical drive.

You should be able to copy all the files from your old computer, although it might not work if the old machine didn't have an intel processor. When I got a new Mac a few months ago, I used the migration assistant to copy everything from my old computer's time machine backup disk. All my old pro apps, such as Final Cut Pro 6, work fine on the new machine under Lion.
Later, I wanted to install Soundtrack pro and couldn't do it from the original disks. So I installed it on my old machine and copied the files. It worked perfectly.

Our SCCM server is at our main campus, across the street from our campus, I have 16 computers that need imaging that are in a totally separate building that is linked to the main campus via microwave.
Could I copy the wim file to a portable drive and take it across the street, is there a way to image these computers and have it run a task sequence from a portable drive? if not, do you have any advice. I don't think the microwave could handle a multicasting.
Any advice would greatly be appreciated.
ps: the wim file is about 22 gig.

I don't know what DE/WM you're using, so I can't be sure any graphical advice I give you will be of any help, but the above should work.
I know in kde you can run a graphical app as root with kdesu, so to open the file manager (konqueror) you could run the command:

don't know how it works in too many other environments.

i'm totally new with mac, got mine 3 weeks ago. . . i have this CD-ROM that i need to install but it says int the instruction that it needs classic mode to install. i've been reading the "classic mode" topic int the MAC HELP. . it says there that i can install the classic mode folder with the installer hardware test disc that comes with the mac, but it has two CDs, i don't know which is the hardware test disc. . .is it the disc 1 or disc 2??? and is there other way aside from this. . and another thing, i read something in the topic that i cannot use classic application in an intel-based comp, does that mean that theres no way i can install this application??

Sorry, no. Adobe has not released a version of Flash for mobile in quite some time. They announced they were dropping Flash on mobile platforms November 9, 2011 and it was officially removed from the Google Play Store August 15, 2012. It's simply lucky that the last version released still happens to work with Jelly Bean.
Keep in mind that the fact that it works does not mean you should use it. I think it's still preferable to find native apps or mobile-friendly sites using HTML5. Since it is unsupported, there have not been for some time, and never will be any security patches. In short, use it at your own risk.

Reading the documentation for OSX Lion suggests that it is a multi-device lisence OS and that it should appear in my App Store as purchased Apps, but I don't see it.

If you purchased Lion through the App Store it should appear there and be downloadable / installable on all of your compatible Macs, this is the only way to install it on all of your Macs as far as I am aware. It is just £25 so not a big deal to purchase, but I would wait for Mountain Lion now. I don't think the pre-installed Mac OS appears as a purchase in the App Store, though it would be nice if it did as technically you purchased the licence for it when you purchased your Mac (though perhaps a slightly different licence?)
