How do I install a second Java instance in a Distributed Installation?

Hello all,
I've just completed the Distributed Installation of a WAS Java stack. The Central Services and Database are running on one box and the Central Instance (01) is running on antoher box.
I want to add a second instance (02) on another physical box. Do I run the sapinst for Distributed Installation again, and this time go straight to step 3 and select "Central Instance?"
Since I don't see an option called "Install an additional instance" I am guessing that this is the way to do it?

My initial installation from sapinst was:
NW2004s SR1 > SAP Systems > MS SQL > Distributed System > Based on AS Java
There are only 3 steps in that selection (SCS, DB, and CI). There's nothing about a Dialog Instance.
However, Dialog Instance exists as a step in the High Availability System scenario. So is this what I should use?
But if I use this option from the High Availability selection, will it still work, even though my first box I installed using the Distributed System selection?

Installing NW2004s ABAP+JAVA Instance

We are trying to install ABAP+JAVA instance for our CRM system . On our Dev machine we have installed the CRM as Central system and have done the Java ADD-IN . However while doing a system copy of this we have faced some problems regarding the Java part .
We wanted to install in the QA box , seperate instance of ABAP and JAVA for Nw2004s CRM using the same database via sapinst.
Any ideas of how to go about this ? Also has anyone faced major problems regarding system copy with sepetrate ABAP+JAVA instances setup for NW2004s .

I would like to install the CS4 designing premium upgrade to my new iMac. It's using the new 10.6 OS. My previous Mac 'past away' over three years ago. How do I install upgrades and bypass the installation of older version(s) first? I do owned the full version of each individual software from CS4 designing premium in the past, including the ones Adobe acquired from Macromedia. I also bought and used all the sequential upgrades of each individual software as they came out. However, my purchase of CS3 package came right after my Mac died, so I never register that package's softwares.

CAN ADS BE INSTALLED ON ANY JAVA INSTANCE

If I have ECC 6.0 installed with ABAP only, can I install ADS on another system with Java installed to be used with ECC60 or does it need to be in the same system to work. Only looking for PDF output and display of HR reports.

Technically yes you can. In such a case you need to publish the ADS to the SLD. Please look at the section 3.4 of the ADS config guide for 2004

My laptop was fried by lightening and had to buy a new laptop. Of course I was not able to deacivate mine either since "Thor" did not send an advance notice. What worries me more is that Adobe has not responded to your post. I have contacted them online and am waiting for an answer. I will let you know what they say when I get a response.

I just downloaded the Java plugin HTML converter (version 1.2) and after I unzipped the file, there was no exe file to run. Am I supposed to move all the files and directories somewhere else and run something at the command prompt?

There is a new converter ver 1.3. Its written in Java so it needs the JRE to run. It comes with a BAT file to run it. It should be located here.
C:\Program Files\HTML_Converter\converter\classes\HTMLConverter.bat
The contents of the BAT file are the following:
java -classpath %CLASSPATH%;. HTMLConverter %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9

I am trying to write VI's that use USB-8451 aliases, set up in the MAX utility. I save the alias name as "USB-8451". This usually works, but when I try to use another USB-8451 I use the following procedure:
To change NI 8451 unit out:
1: Goto C:\vxipnp\winnt\nivisa\visaconf.ini
2: Delete USB-8451 Row
3: Change NumAliases Row -1
4: Save
5: Plug in new 8451 to the computer
6: Gog NI's Measurement and Automation
7: Go to the USB device and rename the alias to "USB-8451"
As I mentioned this usually works. But currently I'm working on a laptop where the alias doesn't seem to be registering. Any hints?

The process should be the same for a desktop or a laptop computer, so I have a few questions for you. Do both of the systems have the same OS and driver versions? When you reopen the visaconf.ini file, are the settings you saved still there? When you say that the alias isn't registering, do you mean you can't set it in MAX?
I am not sure if you are using LabVIEW or not, but LabVIEW 8.2+ has autodetection of the 845x devices which may be useful to you as well.

Installing 620 SAP_BASIS Dialog Instance with 6.40 Installation Master CD

Greetings,
At present we have a SAP R/3 Enterprise 47x200 which is dsitributed across two (windows 2003) clustered servers, one for the Central Instance and other for the Database (Oracle 9.2.0.5).
Now and due to perfomance issues on the Central Instance we'd lke to add a Dialog Instance and here is where the doubts come up.
Our SAP_BASIS version is 620 (System -> Status) whereas our SAP Kernel level is 640_REL (SM51).
We have the original 6.20 Kernel CD but we don't have any valid SAP Installation Master CD (originally we made an upgrade from a 4.6B version) so I downloaded from service.sap.com/support the 51033746_13.ZIP (Installation_Master_6.20_6.40_06_08) file (I didn't found any other file better that this one).
The first problem is that when I start sapinst.exe it ask (CD Browser Dialog) for a SAP 6.40 Kernel CD and not the 6.20 Kernel CD I already have. I have found a workaround editing LABEL.ASC file but I think it isn't a good practice.
If I download the Kernel 6.40 from service.sap.com 51030763_1.ZIP (DVD_NW04_SR1_6.40_SAP_Kernel_Oracle) the Sapinst application works perfectly, but here comes up our doubts...
- Could be any problem using these 6.40 installation (Master Installation & Kernel) files for a Dialog Instance installatio in our environment? Are there other installation files which could fit better than these one? Where could I find them?
- When I install a Dialog Instance, does it make changes into the Database Server and Central Instance?
- Initially we'd like to install the Dialog Instance in a test Server, try it, check that it works as we expect, and discard it in order to buy a big and powerful server where we'll definitely install the Dialog Instance. In this case, can we simply discard the test server or we have to follow a complex process for uninstall it? (this question is somehow related to the previous one).

it is OK that you have 640 kernel even if your BASIS is 620. 620 kernel is no longer supported by SAP.

It does not make any changes to DB, you will see next Dialog instance in SM51 then

In this case, can we simply discard the test server or we have to follow a complex process for uninstall it? (this question is somehow related to the previous one).
You can discard your dialog instance without following special procedures.
