How do I install Adobe Reader?

I have downloaded Adobe Reader on LinuxMint 11 using Firefox.
The file appears in the download directory.
When I click it, I am asked to choose an application to open it with.
Can someone please explain how to get Adobe Reader installed.

Peter,
You got yum, that's a good start. From here you can choose two paths: one is to use console commands from terminal, like:
su
rpm -Uvh AdbeRdr9.4.2-1_i486linux_enu.rpm
exit
or
su
yum install tmp/AdbeRdr9.4.2-1_i486linux_enu.rpm
exit
Another path is to install yumex and run it from your favourite desktop - gnome or KDE or whatever.
yumex will pop-up a prompt for root password, which you type in and it runs under root.
See which option better suits your style. Once Reader is installed, it may or may not have to be registered to handle PDF files as a default viewer.
In my experience with Fedora/GNOME installing Reader registers it as a default viewer, but Firefox&Thunderbird still use document viewer. I could not figure how to point them at the Reader yet, as it is registered as a handler for PDF files (just doesn't get called).
