How do I install DPS Desktop Tools where manual updates have been turned off?

I'm using AAMEE 3.1 for deployment across a higher education campus. I turned off updates in the initial install process planning to use AAMEE to create packages and ARD to deploy them.
I need to install the Digial Publishing Desktop Tools (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=182&platform=Macintosh) but I can not manually install updates on the clients, and AAMEE is not accepting adding the update to the workflow.
Suggestions?

hi,
Yes, you can temporarily enable the updates. Just rename the file AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat present at path
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdaterInventory/1.0/AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat . Then you can apply the updates you want on the machine. Once you are done, just rename it back to its original name and the updates will be suppressed again.

  • Unable to launch DPS Desktop tool after successful update. I could not locate it on my Mac

    Hi
I just updated the DPS tool on my Mac and I want to run it.  I could not locate it
The update gave a notificationn that it was successful.
Please kindly help because I do not know what is wrong with update.

    1. Remove DPS App Builder from the Applications folder, if it is there.
    2. Sign in to the DPS Daashboard (https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com).
    3. Click DPS App Builder for Mac, and install.

  • I am still learning how to use icloud, can someone tell me how to delete music from my iphone 5,new updates have been installed, thank you

How is music deleted from the iphone 5 with new updates installed?

First, Music is not part of icloud.  If you mean iTunes Match,
Try posting in the iTunes Match forum, you'll probably find more knowledgeable folks there.
    https://discussions.apple.com/community/itunes/itunes_match
Otherwise, you use iTunes on your computer to sync chosen music to a device or uncheck any selected music and then sync again to get rid of music on the device.

  • DPS Desktop tools for InDesign?

The other day I saw this (link) about Adobe Digital Publishing Suite and was briefly interested in it.  I requested a demo to learn more about it, but somehow I was never able to learn much about it and soon I just forgot about it.   Later today I noticed I have two updates for Indesign (both CC and 2014)  but discovered it was actually to update them with DPS Desktop tools.  But, I have not updated them....just not yet!!   I don't know if it is because I had shown interested in Digital Publishing Suite that the tools are automatically added to InDesign in my account?  And does it cost extra if I have to use DPS Desktop tools?  (It never said anything about how much it cost to use Digital Publishing Suite anyhow.)
Honestly I don't really know about Digital Publishing Suite...not enough info...and I'm kinda concerned because I could unwittingly have done something I am not ready for, and could end up paying hidden costs I know nothing about.  :S
    Thanks.

    Hi Tadavi77,
Digital Publishing Suite is basically an addon to InDesign application and comes as an update.
Digital Publishing Suite is meant to create digital publication for different mobile devices e.g. iPhone, Android, Kindle etc.
Please refer the following overview article and video tutorial.

    Hope this helps.

  • Fail U44M2I218 updating CS6 dps desktop tools

I watched an adobe.tv demo of Folio usage, and decided to try it.
I booted InDesign purchased as part of my CS6 upgrade, and opened the Folio Builder window.
It asked me to log in with an AdobeID. I did so, and got a message that my folio software was out of date. I tried letting the Adobe updater find that InDesign needed an upgrade -- it said not. So I pressed the link, downloaded the 2.03 updater, stopped InDesign, and tried to run it.
The updater immediately failed, with an Adobe Application Manager window referring me to a log file. I opened the log file, and it said:
DPS Desktop Tools CS6 2.03 Update
There was an error installing this update. Please quit and try again later. Error Code: U44M2I218
Great help, as in 1964 mainframe software great. An error code with zero explanation? Try later?? Some phase of moon? I would let you be aware that in a past I am actually deeply experienced at designing highly complex software -- natural language/graphical etc.. You haven't told me a thing here.
I try the web, and that error code exists for Adobe, but has no reference for this particular DPS package, on or off the Adobe site. There are occasional terse, quite unpleasantly phrased, and entirely uniformative Adobe person responses for other packages - no further comment to make on this aspect, but arrogance should be ashamed.
While I am trying to get proper window names for this article, I start InDesign CS6 again. Now the Folio Builder mini-window is open, left over from last run. It actually seems to operate -- this in common with some other failed packages mentioned on the web with this code.
    - what on this earth does U44M2I218 _mean_?
    - what is 'later', as in 'try again later'?
    - how would I know that this update actuallly worked, or what update level I am actually on?
    - why didn't the normal Adobe Update Manager take care of recognizing and unstalling this update, as it has quite many already with Design/web Premium CS6?
Don't you think this is a bit of a mess?
Thanks for a fix. I'll go now and post this on some bug reporter recommended, which I would no longer be able to find if I hadn't kept the original fail window open. Oh. It's the generic we-don't-really-want-to-hear-so-fix-it-yourself maxi-page. I think I can drill for an ability to speak, given enough patience.
Well, i couldn't. I ended up right back here. Thinking about the thousands of dollars and many, many hours I and others have given you over the years, and the personal involvement.

    Uwe, thank you.
That was very helpful, and appreciated.
Here's the rest of the tale:
    - in fact, I was using the downloaded updater, gotten from the link on the Folio Builder panel where it blocked further access.
    - I tried again about an hour later. This time the previously downloaded and failing updater worked as expected, running through the Adobe Application Manager, which it launched itself. This had clearly not run before. I am thinking it was a phone-home internet issue which brought the error.
    - result seems to be that the update went fine. The version numbers I could find have nothing to do with the 2.03 overall version, so trusting that the package did the right thing. Adobe should normalize of course so the parts etc. contain the overall version as well as their own.
    - I understand you perfectly about the lack of sync between the panel worry-response and the actual availability of the automatic update. I think Adobe should not allow this to happen; it's a classic operating system issue, and can be solved.
    - I do remember now that the DPS is a system booting into progress. Fine, but if they do that on operational status, responsibility is to make it very smooth, isn't it.
Vielen dank, und Ich glaube, dass meistens software bei Deutsches entwicklers sollen geschaffen sein . Viele besser Erfolg kommt...immer mit die Sorgfalt.
Do you guess I miss very much living nearby? In Basel, and I just met some nice folk just moved there, on their holiday this evening in San Diego.

  • Error in updating DPS Desktop Tools CS6 32.0.0 and Photoshop Camera Raw 8.7.1 (CS6)

When I tried to update DPS Desktop Tools CS6 32.0.0 and Photoshop Camera Raw 8.7.1 (CS6) in Adobe Photoshop I get the following errors in the error log:
DPS Desktop Tools CS6 32.0.0 Update
There was an error installing this update. Please quit and try again later. Error Code: U44M1I208
    Photoshop Camera Raw 8.7.1(CS6)
There was an error installing this update. Please quit and try again later. Error Code: U44M1I216
I purchased Adobe Creative Suite with my Mac so I have an installed version.  I have tried rebooting, but to no avail.  When I search for help on the site, none of the help explanations fit (e.g., delete a folder that doesn't exist on my computer).  I have a 27 inch iMac running OS X Yosemite version 10.10.1.  Thanks.

Sscrase what specific error messages did you receive within the installation log files for the update?  You can find details on how to locate and interpret the installation log files at Troubleshoot install issues with log files | CC - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cc.html.

  • Can't update DPS Desktop Tools CS6

Tried to update DPS Desktop Tools CS6 in Windows8. I get the error to close the creative cloud connection.exe program to proceed but can't find how to close it. I tried openning it and clicking the X in the window but that doesn't do it.
If this is a stupid user issue I appologize in advance.
    thanks

I am on Windows 7 and have the same issue with updating DPS Tools. I tried the above steps given by Nancy and still can't get the update to install. Any other suggestions for killing CC Connection?
My screen when trying to install:

  • Problems with CC DPS desktop tools

When I download CC DPS Desktop tools and I try to install it, the system tells me to update first Indesign CC with the update in indesign CC help menu, but the update voice is not selectable. How can I do?

I too am lost trying to install the DPS tools for InDesign CC (Windows).  I have seen a downloadable patch that I can't apply, I have seen advice to run the update from the help menu, but there are no updates available, and I have tried downloadable installers that don't seem to do anything.  I still don't have the DPS tools in my extensions!

  • Need DPS Desktop Tools old version to replace 2.06 update

Can Adobe or anyone tell me how I can get a download of the previous update to DPS desktop tools (2.05?) - that is, the one previous to Jan 25 2013 2.06 update.
There's a bug in the update with embedding iFrames, and  I'm on deadline for an app that uses several iFrames.
I really need to get the last version reinstated, where iFrames were working just fine.
The official line is "We've confirmed there's an issue with iframe-hosted content produced with the v25 tools. This is, unfortunately, how youtube videos are hosted in folios. We are working on a fix." (No time given)

I'm upset that the update code wasn't checked before release.
My client is a weekly newspaper using many iFrames. I have a deadline in 6 hours.
    Can you suggest a workaround?
I've tried embedding old html style code with no effect. Have also tried using HTML from BrightCove no effect.

  • How do I install CC Desktop and Apps to a drive other than "C"?

After several problems, help from the forum, and finally an Adobe tech from India, the tech was able to install CC Desktop.  The tech had to make hidden files visible, and change an existing file OO?? (I can't remember the last two letters") to OO??_old.  Maybe this will help someone else.
Perhaps I'm wrong, but as the tech was downloading and installing CC Desktop, I didn't see any option for which drive to install it on.  I am now installing CC apps.  I see no option as to which drive to install the app.
    I have my computer setup as C: operating system; D: sctratch; E: programs; F: files, G: cd/dvd.
How can I install CC Desktop to "E"?  If done, will CC apps automatically install on "E"?  Will CC Desktop work properly on other than "C" drive?   Will CC apps work properly on other than "C" drive?  If CC Desktop should always be on "C", can I stll install CC apps on "E"?  I get no dialog box or window providing an option of where to install any of the CC programs.

While CCApp Prefs does give you this option, it doesn't respect the settings and still installs to C: Drive. This is a big problem for those using an SSD drive to boot. Why would something as simple as choosing your install folder, like every other application in the world be an issue that has taken over a year to fix?

  • How do i install MS Ofiice tools (Word,Excel...etc).after software upgrade

How do i install MS Ofiice tools (Word,Excel...etc).after software upgrade

OK. Connect the BlackBerry to your PC via the USB cable and start the BlackBerry Desktop Software.
If you are asked to upgrade anything after starting the Desktop Software, cancel and don't upgrade for now.
    Click on Device > Applications.
Scroll through and find PassWord Keeper and DocumentsToGo (or WordToGo, SheetsToGo, etc.) and click to install, or press the + symbol to add those apps to your device.
Complete the ensuing prompts and they should install correctly for you.
    Good luck.

  • DPS Desktop Tools Update CS6. Help.

Any help will be appreciated on this...
On my Mac running Snow Leopard, I was able to successfully install my Creative Cloud Subscription CS6 apps yesterday (so far, so good). Installed Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
When I launched InDesign, I went to "Help" and "Updates..." and noticed a "DPS Desktop Tools CS6 2.01 Update" was available from the updater.
(I did my due diligence and noticed on the Adobe.com downloads page that that update was indeed available).
So I ran the update through the updater (AAM) within the application. It said it installed successfully.
Here is my question related to this install...
When I open up the Console app and go to "/library/logs" and "Adobe" and "Installers," I see a log file called "DPS Desktop Tools CS6 2.0.0.395..." that took place at the time I made my installation -- Not anything about a 2.01 update.
My concern is that I installed an erroneous update within CS6...or that there was a snafu of some sort.
If anyone can confirm either way whether or not this update is legit???
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi MavBridge,
I am adobe employee  working on Installer, Updater and AAM. Please don't worry about the log file and the update you installed is legit. Logs are normally named with the product and build number and not the exact update version so once again please don't worry about the logs.
    Thanks
