How do I install Dreamweaver CS3?
I've been using Dreamweaver CS3 on my MacBook. I just bought an iMac and want to install the same program there. I downloaded the installer from my Adobe account, but it says I need a CD to install, even though I originally bought the program online and don't have a CD. Is there something I don't know about installing the program?
Well, I assumed that if I bought online, then a digital copy would always be available online. Other sites I have bought software from still have live links even though I might not have downloaded from them for five plus years. I did it only just a week back actually.
With downloads, I always burn a copy to DVD, but if three years and one day down the line I am still using the software as a main source of income, then my house burns down, I've lost both my hard copy and the online digital copy too.
By all means stop support for something that is so old because it is going to take up staff resources, but to enable a piece of software to be downloaded after a three year period is not going to impact on their day-to-day operations other than having to allow for disk space for storage. In fact, it takes effort to have disable the ability to download it whether it be an automatic or human instigated process.
If you speak with adobe staff at a trade show, they help you with any help you might need on older versions... but I guess that's because you are in their face while asking the question!

Problems installing Dreamweaver CS3
Hi, I've been trying to install Dreamweaver CS3 on my Vista
computer, home premium and I've already spent numerous hours
installing and uninstalling the product!
The problem is that the installer fails to install Adobe Cue
Client CS3.
I've googled the problem and found that logs were generated
on a gzip file on C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Installers\
as i've read here:
http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb401401&sliceId=1
All anti-virus (NOD32) and firewalls (COMODO) are disabled.
Like the page suggests I've uninstalled all products from
Adobe, except Acrobat 8 and and run the CS3cleaner scripts provided
by you, in level 2, to clean all files from my computer, as a page
from adobe recommends too.
I've alse run tried to run the installer as administrator,
with the same results.
I provide the install log from Adobe Dreamweaver on link
http://www.sendspace.com/file/s27cuj,
from the last PayloadInstaller that failed to install.
On event manager the error is logged like this:
quote:
Product: Adobe Version Cue CS3 Client -- Error 1920.Service
##Id_String1.6844F930_1628_4223_B5CC_5BB94B879762## (Bonjour
Service) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient
privileges to start system services.
How can I solve this problem??I would recommend calling as well. I ran into a similar
problem on the Mac side and they have information to provide you
beyond the KB articles. Although I have just decided to do without
it since I really did not utilize its functionality so if you feel
the same I would recommend not using the program as well. -
Cannot install Dreamweaver CS3 on Mac
I have a MacBook, OS X 10.5.8. Processor: 2.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo Memory: 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM.
I am trying to install Dreamweaver CS3 on my Mac and have had no luck. There is no "Setup" as specified in the help I've found. There is Setup.exe, but that just opens in TextEdit. I've tried snooping on the disc but have found nothing that will execute.
How on earth do I install this software???
Thank you!
PaulaWell if you recently bought it try returning it or stop payment on your credit card. All discs from Adobe recently (going back probably to CS2) carry one version or the other. And given that you just got CS3 tells me the version was purchased off of Ebay, Craigslist or some other form of reselling because all commercial sales channels will be selling only CS4 at this point in time.

Need help re-installing Dreamweaver CS3
My computer was restored to an earlier point, and it basically deleted all of the downloaded software and kept all my files & folders. When I go to re-install Dreamweaver CS3 back onto my computer, it does not work. It says it was installed, but it's no where on my computer. Dreamwever CS3 was installed fine before my computer restored itself.
How do I get Dreamweaver CS3 back on my computer. I still have my serial number.
Thank you.Hi jbelletto24,
try running CSClear script to remove any registry or file . Then try re-installation.
You can get the script here http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs3clean.html
Hope this helps.
ThanksYou,

I am trying to install Dreamweaver CS3 on Windows 8 it says "The Installer Database is corrupt"
I am trying to install Dreamweaver CS3 on my new Windows 8 PC and when I run SETUP.EXE it says "The Installer Database is corrupt" on both my original CD and backup I made.
The error is here:
Dreamweaver CS3 on my new Windows 8 PC
This will most likely never work. CS3 wasn't even fit for Win 7. Delete the caps.db in the respective caps folder (info here) and then take the usual steps of running as admin, turning off UAC and security tools and possibly using compatibility modes, but as I said, be prepared that this may be futile and you spend a Sunday afternoon without achieving anything...

My hard drive crashed and I need to re-install Dreamweaver CS3
My hard drive crashed and I need to re-install Dreamweaver CS3. I have my license but I cannot find a copy of the software. I found some comments that Adobe is not making it available for download. I would like to continue to use this version. Anyone have any ideas on where I can find a copy of Dreamweaver CS3?
if you follow all 7 steps you can dl a trial here: http://prodesigntools.com/download-adobe-cs4-and-cs3-free-trials-here.html
and activate with your serial.
if you have a problem dl'g, you didn't follow all 7 steps. the most common error involves failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com). -

My company bought CS5.5 Creative Suite, and one of my coworkers used our license for Dreamweaver on his computer. Now he has left the company, and I would like to install the license on my computer so I can use it from my station.
When we installed the software on his computer, we simply downloaded the trial version and then entered our serial number. However, now I can only find the download for CS6, and putting my serial number in there for CS5.5 does not magically download that version for me, unfortunately.
Does anyone know how I can install the license on my computer? I thought it would be allowed to have it on two computers, just only one computer would be able to access the software at a time. I just need to figure out how to install it...I talked to Adobe staff, and apparently I needed to use the Adobe licensing website, licensing.adobe.com. I'll need to talk to my IT department, who bought the software, to get the account information for the site, but I'm on the way to success!

How can I activate Dreamweaver CS3 on a second Apple Mac when the original Mac has gone wrong?
I have Dreamweaver CS3.
I have used it on my laptop and my desktop Macs.
In the past, I have simply deactivated it on one Mac to use it on the other.
My laptop, which has Dreamweaver activated on it, has a graphics card problem and is in for repair.
I cannot use the Dreamweaver installed on my desktop computer because I cannot de-activate it on the laptop (which is being repaired by Apple and which Apple say they can't access to de-activate it, because there is no screen display).
This is obviously going to be a future problem if one of the Macs blows up while Dreamweaver is activated on it. I will not be able to use the Dreamweaver I bought nor service my website.
Help! ?You could always download the trial version until the laptop is fixed. But, I don't know if you can even save a file from CS5 that would be compatible in 3. It is sucky to not have the single user, two activation license. This is one of the things I applaud Adobe for. Most major software licenses are meant for a single machine, and not so concerned about users - that they know it's unlikely that several users would share a machine.it does happen, but it's also quite an inconvenience. The two activation solution takes into account a more realistic scenario for a single user. The other option being used with some programs is the dongle, which I also like, even though many others don't for various and valid reasons. Anyway, I just looked at a page in cs4 and it doesn't really save in any particular version, HTML is HTML. I just don't know what will happen if someone goes to open it in CS3 - will it open less any CS4 code, not open, erase the code on save? Will it be the same for 5? Just wondering as you may be able to use the trial.

Cannot install Dreamweaver CS3 on Vista
I'm running a desktop PC with Windows Vista Premium. I had
Dreamweaver 8 installed and want to upgrade to Dreamweaver CS3. So
I uninstalled Dreamweaver 8 and ran the setup for CS3. After the
setup extracted all he necessary setup files I saw a message saying
"initializing setup" and then...nothing. Setup just quit. I tried
several times. I've never installed any of the CS3 beta
versions...but I ran the CS3 cleanup anyway. No luck. Searched the
registry for any extra Dreamweaver entries. Nothing. The only Adobe
software I have installed is Acrobat 8 Pro and Photoshop CS2. Just
can't get Dreamweaver CS3 to install. Any ideas?See if this helps:

Search for the post by gorodek about modifying the
ContainerProxy.js file.
It seems to have solved the problem for several Photoshop
users, and it's
solved the problem for some DW users as well.
Hope this helps,

No, sorry ! Maybe another search of the technotes may reveal
further
information. Otherwise, an email to support may be the way to
go.

Installing Dreamweaver CS3 re-download
I purchased a downloadable version of Dreamweaver CS3 in Fall 2007. I got a new Mac recently because the old one crashed. I re-downloaded DW CS3. The installer starts OK but during the installation I get a message to insert a disk to continue installation. I obviously don't have a disk. Any suggestions?
No you don't have to edit the sites that you did with DW MX
after you installed DW CS3. But you do need to redo the remote
server information in
the SIte Manager and you need to initialize your Extensions.
I have both DW MX and DW CS3 and I switch back and forth
sometimes for a site. SO the data in the remote site remains the
same. -
Hi, I have had Dreamweaver cs3 for a few years and about a month ago I had to uninstall it, but it won't reinstall. I have been through the uninstall/install process countless times over the past month. It will go through the installation process just fine, and it will accept the numbers for the registration code, but for whatever reason it will not accept any letters in the registration code. I have tried the clenup tool but hasn't worked either. Can someone please please please help me?
Are you sure that you're using your serial number (all numbers) or a redemption code (alphanumeric)?
You use your rempetion code to retrieve your serial number
