how do i install fonts on 0s 10.7.4?

If you want them available for all users then drop them in the /Library/Fonts/ folder. If you want them available only for you then put them in the /Home/Library/Fonts/ folder.

  • How do I install fonts?

I'm having trouble making X recognize a bunch of fonts that I have installed. I installed "ttf-apple-fonts" and I see the files in /usr/share/fonts/TTF along with other fonts that are recognized and show up in xfontsel. I installed artwiz-fonts as well, but they don't show up either, which I can understand since they are in /usr/share/fonts/artwiz-fonts, which isn't a "standard" font path.
So, my question is: how do I install fonts? My xorg.conf is completely empty and I have no idea where to go from here. The wiki doesn't seem to be very up-to-date.

Unfortunately, that too didn't work. I get even more confused because no matter how many times in a row I run fc-cache -fv (as root), it tells me it found new content every time.
    $ sudo fc-cache -fv
/usr/share/fonts: caching, new cache contents: 0 fonts, 9 dirs
/usr/share/fonts/100dpi: caching, new cache contents: 0 fonts, 0 dirs
/usr/share/fonts/75dpi: caching, new cache contents: 0 fonts, 0 dirs
/usr/share/fonts/TTF: caching, new cache contents: 78 fonts, 0 dirs
/usr/share/fonts/Type1: caching, new cache contents: 35 fonts, 0 dirs
/usr/share/fonts/artwiz-fonts: caching, new cache contents: 17 fonts, 0 dirs
/usr/share/fonts/cyrillic: caching, new cache contents: 0 fonts, 0 dirs
/usr/share/fonts/encodings: caching, new cache contents: 0 fonts, 1 dirs
/usr/share/fonts/encodings/large: caching, new cache contents: 0 fonts, 0 dirs
/usr/share/fonts/misc: caching, new cache contents: 59 fonts, 0 dirs
/usr/share/fonts/util: caching, new cache contents: 0 fonts, 0 dirs
    /home/skorpan/.fonts: skipping, no such directory
    /var/cache/fontconfig: cleaning cache directory
    /home/skorpan/.fontconfig: cleaning cache directory
    fc-cache: succeeded
I did this AND restarted X several times and even tried a reboot, but still the same thing happens. The fonts just won't show up in xfontsel.

  • How do I install fonts to my LG G2?

    TL;DR version:
I need to install fonts without rooting my LG G2. Is there an easy way to do this? If I have to root, will it void my warranty?
    Long version:
I'm a Japanese major and want to install Japanese font on my LG G2 (3.4.0-perf-gdf89a11). There are only 6 default font types in LG G2 (SmartGothic, Travel, Foxrain, Coffee, Purewhite, Serif, Roboto) and none of them can display Japanese correctly, i.e. Chinese characters are used instead of Japanese kanji. The difference is analogous to using greek letters to display English which looks very wrong to the trained eye. There are apps that can install fonts but most require me to "root" my device. I don't know much about rooting and it sounds like I might void my verizon warranty which I don't want. Is there an easy, "verizon-legal" way for me to install free fonts I like? Thanks!

w1225612, I understand the need to change the font. While there are third party keyboards that offer Japanese input, the font throughout the phone cannot be switched to something other than the defaults provided.

  • How do I install fonts from Type On Call into Win 8.1

I have been using Trade Gothic Condensed as my default Excel font for many years. Each time I get a new computer I have been able to install the font in the new OS. I am having trouble doing that with Win 8.1. It says it is installed but does not appear in my list of Fonts, yet the Myriad font comes up fine.
Does anyone have any suggestions how to install the Trade Gothic font in my new Win 8.1 computer?
    Many thanks
    George

There are strings in the pliist file to add other Macs so that you can use some USB-DVD drives.
This is 5 page thread, so a little more 'meat' to it:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3410900?start=60&tstart=0
And on PC booting Windows from a USB DVD to do the install is usually a piece of cake, sometimes you just need to specify that USB in the BIOS boot order and sometimes select via F12 (or another Fkey) and that is it.
What you have here seems to be everything and everyone is excluded unless there is a  mac-model device ID string that specifies yes.  An unnecessary hurdle.

  • How can I instal fonts on the user's machine?

    Hello
My application uses a font that probably most of the users don't have. Can I install it on the user's computer? How?
    Thank you!
    Alexandra.

What kind of application is it? Is it a desktop application? If so, which UI? Once found out, look for the answer in the corner of the UI in question, [click for example|http://google.com/search?q=swing+install+new+font]. If it is a web application. then you may find sIFR interesting. Google gives enough hits on that keyword.

  • How do I install Fonts in FM12?

    Hello everyone,
    I've got the following problem:
A customer has updated his PC to Windows 7. So he reinstalled FM12 on his new system. After that he wanted to install his fonts he had before on his old pc.
I dont know how I could help him, so I would appreciate all help I can get.
He told me that there are pretty much *.pfb and *.pss files. I have absolutly no idea how those fonts can be imported.
Are those files the correct ones? Or does the font files have other endings?
Thank you so much for helping! And sorry for my bad english as well ;-)
    greetings - Markus

Yes, the font files would be in the Windows \Fonts folder on the old system.

  • How to re-install fonts only with CS 5.5?

I use Font Xplorer to manage my fonts, and recently, I had to wipe out my hard drive (Mac OSX) to fix a problem. When I restored from Time Machine, for some reason, it came up as missing a few key fonts, namely Myriad and Tekton. Although my CS programs seem to work fine, I immediately began getting the old "Could Not Compelte Your Request Due To A Program Error" in Photoshop when I tried to use the Type tool. I sourced the missing fonts from my laptop, and installed them using Font Xplorer, but they must not have gone to the right place because I'm still getting the command error.
Long story short, I'd like to reinstall the fonts ONLY (to avoid having to re-install the entire Creative Suite) but am not sure how to do this. When I checked Library / APplication Support / Adobe, I don't even ahve a "Saved Fonts" folder (where Adobe says they should be.)
How can go about doing this?

As you have use time machine to install these adobe applications, unfortunately you have uninstall CS5.5 and reinstall it using the setup files.
Time machine doesn't backup all application files. Use the original media and install the application from there.

  • HT5878 How to to install fonts in iOS 7

I want to know the procedure of adding fonts to iOS 7. I intended using the fonts in pages, numbers and keynotes apps. Thanks

Custom fonts are installed via configuration profiles.
These profiles can be created in Apple Configurator or iPhone Configuration Utility on OS X.
Or you can download an app on iOS App Store that creates these profiles on your iOS device.
If you are looking for a catalogue of fonts, you can download an app called Install New Fonts. It's free and contains a lot of fonts but most of them require IAP to be availiable.

  • How to install Fonts into Adobe Illustrator

I am using a computer that runs on Snow Leopard 10.6.8
Hi there I want to know  how to install new Fonts / Typefaces into Adobe Illustrator CS3?
I am also curious as to how I would install fonts on other Adobe CS applications?
All help, links, and resources much appreciated.

I just dragged and dropped the downloaded ".tff" font files into in Font Book icon in theDock and a new window popped up and just click "Install Font" button.
That works, too. Sets are, more than anything else, just a way to organize your fonts by project. By dropping the font in, it should now be listed in one of the standard headings like "Computer".
The new fonts have automatically loaded into Adobe Illustrator CS3 without having to close it.
Better apps will see when fonts have been enabled or disabled without having to close and restart them. Microsoft Word (and likely the entire Office suite) does not.

  • How do I sync the installed fonts between different PC's

Windows programs don't display my documents correctly on different PC's
For example: I create a Microsoft Image Composer document on a Windows 7 PC and use a font I have installed on it called "Space Bd BT" and save the document to a Skydrive folder.
When I load the document on another PC running windows 8.1, I can load the document from the local Skydrive folder but the font reverts to some other font. (I don't have "Space Bt BD" installed on that PC.
On a daily basis I use 5 PC's.  I often create an image or document on one PC and then use, print or edit it on two or three other PC's. Three PC's are 8.1, one PC is 7 and one PC is dual boot to 7 and 8.1
    So...
I create a lot of marketing documents that use a wide selection of fonts, including custom fonts. If I install a font on one PC, I need to have it on all. At a minimum, it should at least be synced to the font directory if not installed as an active font
and be easy to install if included in an office document.
Can this be done using Skydrive? I know there are ways of doing it with a server on a local network, but that is out of the realm of possibilities for my system.

To view the document with non-build-in font smoothly, there is no way to "transport" the peculiar fonts through Skydrive. We have to copy/paste these fonts to target machine's control panle > font feature (Actually, it performs
    the installation)
I would like to know what the limitation of your system, no enough permission for the local machine?

  • How to install fonts from net

How do you install fonts from the net as the windows installer will only install them onto Word and I want them in PSE10

    >windows installer
1-Windows puts fonts in a common fonts folder... which makes the fonts available to ALL software... at least if they are "correct" fonts (such as TrueType)

  • Why are there no instructions for how to install fonts on Frame 10?

The documentation is horrible! It says in many places, reinstall the fonts, but it never says how to do that or where to find out how to do that.
How do I install fonts on Frame 10?
    Thanks,
    Carl

    Which fonts?
I suspect that for fonts you already had prior to FM10, you wouldn't be asking.
Adobe sez: Adobe® FrameMaker® 10 includes the following OpenType® fonts for Western languages: Minion® Pro, Myriad® Pro, Adobe Garamond® Pro, Letter Gothic Standard, News Gothic Standard, and Courier Standard. For symbols, FrameMaker 10 includes Symbol Standard. For Chinese text, Adobe Fangsong Standard and Adobe Kaiti Standard are provided. Kozuka Gothic® and Kozuka Mincho® are provided for Japanese text.
Is the question then a matter of: where on the media and/or in the download are these found?
Once located, and as needed, unpacked, installing them is trivial.
    I haven't used FM10, and don't know the location.
