How do I install iMessage on macbook running os lion 10.7.4?
Isn't it supposed to come with iMessage on it? or do I need to install it somehow? If so, where can I find it?

It's called Messages (on a Mac) and it is included in Mountain Lion. (iMessage is the iOS version for your iDevices)

First, your MacBook must meet the minimum system requirements for Lion. You need a core 2 duo processor or better. You need 2GB of RAM. You need at least 7GB of available disk space. You also need to be already running Snow Leopard (Mac OS X version 10.6.8 or later).
Once those requirements are met, go to the Mac App store on your MacBook and sign into it using the same Apple ID you used to purchase Lion for your iMac. Do a search for Lion and install it from the App store. There should be no further charge.

If you purchased and downloaded Lion from the Appstore on the iMac, Sign into the MacApp store using the same AppleID on the Macbook. Look in the Purchased tab and it sould be available for download.
You'll need to have 10.6.8 on your macbook first as App store support isn't available on 10.5

Trouble connecting to Fios on my Macbook running Mountain Lion

Sometimes I can get to a single website at that point, but after a few seconds the "internet" and "server" parts of the diagnostics turn to yellow or red, and I can't connect to any other websites. Wi-Fi and Ethernet behavior is the same -- the WiFi signal is strong.
I though this might be a DNS problem, so I changed the router's DNS servers to those of OpenDNS, and then also changed the DNS servers on my Macbook. I also "flushed the DNS," which didn't help. And I turned off the firewall on my Macbook -- still can't connect, except for a second at most. And I'm confused about what to try next.
The router is a MI424WR Actiontex, 3rd generation -- do you think getting a new model of router from Verizon might help? Is that the next thing I should try?

Ha, so I guess I get 10 points. The problem turned out to be the DNSCrypt program (http://opendns.github.com/dnscrypt-osx-client)/, which had occasionally acted up before with public WiFi sites. It evidently doesn't play well with the FIOS's router either. So if anyone is having problems like this, remember to turn off this and similar programs first, before you look for anything more elaborate.

The installer for Logic Pro 8 has a bug which keeps it from operating in Lion or Mt. Lion. Use the program Pacifist to install it.

Back up your present iPhoto library. Install the new version of iPhoto. When you run it for the first time it will want to update the library. When it's finished you should be good to go.
