Anyhow, I got a New/used fully updated Macbook Pro and I used my Time Capsule to transfer all my data from my iMac to my laptop, but much of the music is absent, as well as my purchased apps. Just to be clear, Office 2010 is for Windows. Office 2011 is for Mac. If you actually are trying to install Office 2010, you'll need to have installed Windows on your Mac either through Boot Camp or in a virtual machine.

You are showing 10.6.7. You should be able to run any Office PPC/Mac Compatible version (e.g. Office 2004) with Rosetta in Snow Leopard.

You have several options.
1, Use a Virtual Machine like Vmware, Parallels etc... to Create a Virtual Windows Installation and Run your program in there. A Virtual MAchine will runn in a Window on your Desktop and share your Mac's resources RAM HD space processor. Your MAc desktop will still be available while you run Windows install.

jamiesfromportland, greetings: I do not take issue with your very valid reasons for purchasing RAM from Apple. However by recommending not to purchase RAM from third party vendors I would suggest is unfounded advice. Most of the problems that occur with third party RAM are attributable to the lack of adherence to the required specifications, viz. this post.
I would be willing to wager that purchasing RAM from reputable vendors such as OWC or Crucial one would find similar fail/success ratios as those purchased from Apple. In both cases this assumes that the specifications are adhered to.
I have always purchased RAM upgrades from third party vendors with no performance issues. True that I do so to save money but I do not skimp on quality.

This is a copy of ONEof the keys in the registry I changed as told by Apple support today. I also have changed others as instructed by GEAR software support to manually delete GEAR drivers (that I had installed but couldn't delete some of the others they mentioned from Windows system 32. Then some bright spark at work told me I need the Gear drivers so I downloaded the software and installed again.

Try running Safari in 32 bit mode. In get info box for Safari,
check open in 32 bit mode. There have been some oddities
on some systems that can cause some issues.
I had thought MS had fixed this, but may not have.

I've recently restored my Acer Aspire V5-122P back to factory settings. I have been trying to re-install Microsoft Office. As I have already paid for it, I was wondering if it is possible to reinstall it without having to buy it again. I have a 25 character
product key but I'm not sure whether it will be accepted or not - as this is the product key I used when I first bought my laptop.
Sorry for the poor lack of information - I'm not the best with computer related stuff haha.

Hi,
You can reinstall Office and activate it with your original product key. As long as your hardware is not substantially different, Office product key will still works.
If you have made changes to the hardware, then it will be considered as a new computer. You may choose the phone activation and activate the Office. You might check this link to see how to

I've reviewed the Lenovo support item on uninstall instructions but it does not say how to get the software off of my hard drive. Here's the Lenovo item.

From this point uninstall:
Activation Assistant,

MS Office 2007 Primary Interop Assemblies,
MS Office Small Business Connectivity Components.
Then remove the MS SQL Server Components of server native client, server setup support files, and VSS writer.
Then remove the Activation Assistant shortcut from the desktop.
The first 3 apps listed are not installed because I have not run the activation assistant for the Office trial that came with the T61. Add/Remove programs has only these pre-installed apps:

Is the activation assistant one of them? I want to inactivate it because it is occasionally triggered somehow. Besides unintalling those preinstalled apps, I want to take all of the Office components off of my hard disk.

I recently bought a copy of Windows 8, Microsoft Office 2013 and Parallels Desktop 8 for Mac.
I wanted to install a Windows partition on my Mac so that I could run MS Office 2013 on a virtual machine.
I set up the VM, and everything was looking fine and worked smoothly.
Then, when I inserted the MS Office 2013 disk into the CD drive, nothing happened!
I tried to install MS Office 2013 but to no avail.
Does anyone know how to overcome this issue?

In the Configure menu item, under Virtual Machine, configure the CD/DVD to be recognized by your SuperDrive:
The only drawback is that you have to quit Parallels for the drive to be recognized by the Mac again.
I just purchased the Office 365 subscription for both Office 2011 on my Mac and Office 2013 on my Windows 7 side - sure makes life simpler, and less expensive.

Option 2: If you have not previously installed the trial version, you can download Office for Mac from the Office for Mac website. To download, install, and activate the software you must have a valid Office 2011 product key.

Click Get Started to start the download process.
When prompted, enter your 25-character product key and select your product language.
When prompted, sign in with your Windows Live ID or sign up and create a new Windows Live ID account.
