How do i install reader on os x 10.9.4?

hi guys i am having problems downloading and installing the latest update of reader and flash on my mac?

as the original question stated "I'm having problems downloading and installing reader" so yeah i kinda did say it earlier.
when i was trying to download it from the adobe reader download page i was having problems installing it. the process bar hangs and the whole installer is not responding. turns out that i think the .pkg file is missing from the installer because if you follow the instructions that they tell you to do, the files are not there. but when you download it directly from the tiny little link button that you have to search through pages and pages of things you will eventually find it!!!

  • How do I install Reader 11 to the directory of my choice?

I have downloaded the Reader 11 for Windows installation file to my hard drive.  Now, how do I install Reader 11 to the directory of my choice?

In Full UI mode you can use the "change destination folder" button to specify your chosen directory.
    Here is the example
Else in command line you can provide INSTALLDIR="" parameter to install at custom location.
    Hope this helps.

  • How do I install Reader to a PC that is not internet connected?

I have a PC that is not connected to the internet.  How can I install Adobe Reader on it, as a normal installation goes directly from adobe.com to the PC.  I could download the software to a memory stick but there does not seem to be a single file available for this.  I have tried copying the contents of all the Reader files across to this PC, but as I expected, that does not work.  Please advise

    Hello David,
Adobe Reader's offline download for Windows see: ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/
There you click through to the most current, complete offline version of the Adobe Reader. This installation file, you can carry around easily e.g. on a USB stick and also install on PCs that do not have Internet access.
An important decision during the installation relates to the updates, therefore you should use the last option
    Good luck!

  • How do i install reader in a Virtual Machine

I am a developer and need to install reader in an XP virtual machine running upon my Windows 7 desktop
I need to test out acrobat and IE 8
It gets to 34% downloaded and then fails.
In the xp machine i have turned off the firewall and removed the anti virus software
In the windows 7 machine i have turned off the firewall and turned off the anti virus software
    Any other suggestions?

Download it on the host machine from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/, then copy it into VM.  Or run it in VM directly from the host folder.

  • How can I install Reader on a computer with no internet?

I have an old Dell laptop with XP on it. It can not hook up to the internet. I want to put Reader on it so I can use the laptop to open shop manuals I have that are Adobe (PDF) files. I've tried several times to download different versions of reader (on my new computer which I then put on a thumb drive) and it tries to install them but eventually towards the end seeks to connect to the internet to look for updates or whatever. There must be a way to download a copy of reader (probably an older version like 9) on my new laptop so I can copy the file to the old laptop and install it without the program needing to go to the internet for something. HOW???

Thank you Claudio. I tried your suggestion. It did not work. Here is what happens: once I double click on the saved (on a thumb drive), downloaded file (reader 9.5.0) it starts to install. When it gets to the end, a window opens that says "downloading MSI update..." which of course it can't since that computer will NOT connect to the internet (this is an old Dell 600 with XP unknown service pack on it). Then I get the error window: "Adobe bootstrapper for single installation has encountered a problem and needs to close" which stops the installation. Then another window with "error code 150210". This is what happens every time with every downloaded version of Adobe reader I've tried. Any other suggestions? Thanks a bunch.

  • How do I install Reader Version 8 and Version 11 on the same computer?

I have old fillable forms that will not work with the free reader above vesion 8.  I also have programs that require the free reader version or above.  I am trying to get both the free reader versions 8 and 11 on the same computer.  When I installed version 11, version 8 was removed.  When I tried to reinstall version 8 the message said I had a more up to date version and the install stopped.  Any suggestions?

Thanks for the suggestion, it worked!  What I had to do was after steps 1 & 2
    3.  move the entire Version 8 folder to a flash drive
    4.  reinstall Version 11
    5.  add a new folder called Adobe 8 to the program file directory
    6.  copy Version 8 folder from flash drive file to new folder
    7.  add shortcut to desktop.
Now I can open my old forms in Version 8 and edit and save them.
    Thanks again.

  • How to silently install Reader 9.3.1 RPM in RHEL 5.4?

I am running Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 5.4 (32-bit). I need to install the AdbeRdr9.3-1_i486linux_enu.rpm on multiple machines nearly everyday.
Is there a way to install this RPM silently? In other words, accept the license agreement from the command line rather than having GUI windows pop up?
The only documentation I have found on this subject so far has been restricted to Windows environments.
Is a silent and automated installation possible for RHEL?

Could you please post a screenshot of the Add/Remove Programs listings. I guess, the prior installation had been corrupted and hence, couldnt be removed by the new update and hence, the two entries.
Please try ʇɐb ɹəuəllıʍ's suggestions as above to remove the corrupted installations.

  • How can I install Adobe Reader 11 to a drive other than C:\?

I downloaded Reader 11, but at no point during the installation process am I prompted for an installation location.  How can I install this to a drive other than the C:\?  I keep my C:\ and data storage drive separate so in the event the OS crashes I won't lose my data.  I have limited storage capacity since I'm on a laptop so I didn't make my C:\ very large, so that I would have more room for my D:\.  Any suggestions?
    Sincerely,
                    LT Gannon

having data on a different drive is a good idea.  installing programs on a drive different from you os containing drive is generally not a good idea.  but if you have the expertise and are sure of what you're doing:
    mac:  ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/mac/11.x/11.0.00/misc/
    win:  http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5515

  • How do i install adobe reader without installing products from google.

i dont like google, i dont like a bunch of worthless taskbars crowding my browser. so how do i install adobe reader without installing google products when you dont even give me the chance to say i dont want them?
It is unethical to force onto people products of any nature that they do not want. i do not want google products so by your installation for adobe reader automatically installing google products without my consent is unethical.

I don't understand the "forcing" part; the bundled software is clearly optional, and can be unchecked before the download.
Or using the download link that Michael provided earlier (which is posted at least a dozen times every day in this forum).

  • How can I install Adobe Reader 10.1.0 Plugin for IE8?

All the forum responses I've seen show going to manage add-ons in IE and to enable the plugin.  I do not have an Adobe Reader 10.1.0 plugin under any add-ons to enable.  I've even unistalled/reinstalled this Adobe Reader version with no success.  Due to other application dependencies I cannot upgrade to Reader 11, though I know the Plugin does appear when I install Reader 11.  How do I get the matching plugin for 10.1.0?  Without it we are having issues with PDFs not opening in the browser.  Thanks.

    Hi, thanks for the help:
    i)Adobe Reader 10.1.0.  OS is Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 64bit v1.0.  We utilize IE8 32bit browser.
ii)Due to other applications we currently cannot upgrade company wide yet, so 10.1 is not yet an option.  I did test locally and 10.1 did solve the issue, but that won't work for us at this time.  I need to find a way to add the plugin for 10.1.0 back to IE for employees.  It used to exist but something changed recently as PDFs stopped launching within IE window.  On all the support sites I see, people reference enabling the Reader 10.1 plugin within IE, so it must exist, I just need to understand how we can re-install it.

  • How can I install Adobe Reader on my F: drive (Windows XP)

I have an old computer with a limited C: drive.  My F: drive is much larger.  I want to install Adobe Reader on my F: drive.  How can I do this.?

Assuming that you want to install the English version of Adobe Reader 9.3, download this installer
    http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/9.x/9.3/enu/AdbeRdr930_en_US.msi
Run it, and once the installer is initialized, you will be presented with this panel
Click 'Change Destination Folder...' and you can specify exactly where you want it to install.

  • How do i install adobe reader on a flash drive?????

how do i install adobe reader on a flash drive?

I don't know if this will work; it will certainly not create a "portable" Adobe Reader.
But it may install on the flash driver, to be used only on the computer that installed it.
Download and run the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
On the Reader setup panel, click on 'Change Destination Folder' and select your flash drive.
Let us know how that goes; I am curious...
