Even if there was a convenient way, the software will not run on the pad. Ios is a unique language, and only programs written for ios will run on the pad. All of the programs are in the app store. You might look there and see if the company that makes your sfotware also has an ios version, which would be in the store.

Here's what you can do.
Download virtual Clone drive (freeware) from here http://www.slysoft.com/en/download.html install it on your S10.
Now on your destop, make a backup ISO of your software CD or DVD.
I use this http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm it integrates with explorer on the right click menu. There are other solutions also.
Once your ISO is created you can copy it to your S10 via network, usb key, etc, and mount it as a drive letter with Virtual CLone drive.

How do I install software from DVD on mini with no Optical Drive

I purchased Aperture on DVD at an Apple store in 2007 when the App store did not exist. The new Mac mini does not have an optical drive. I did not migrate applications from my previous Mac mini because it doesn't seem to let you choose which applications. (I had several legacy migrations involved and didn't want that junk on my new mini.) The App store, of course, does not know I've already paid for Aperture and wants to charge me to download it. I discovered you cannot install from another computer's DVD just by mounting that DVD on the target computer. It will tell you it can't install over the network. It also won't let you drag the contents of the DVD onto the target computer (which worked with Office 2011). It will tell you that method of installation is not supported. All Apple could suggest was to buy an optical drive which would have been almost anoher $100. Apple support doesn't seem to understand why Aperture is not in my iTunes purchase history (because iTunes didn't exist for Aperture then!)
I just had a wonderful discovery. I found this support article that details how you have to turn DVD sharing on under Sharing Preferences on the computer that does have the optical drive, then you can use the Remote Disc under Devices on the target computer to request use of that drive. Finally, the installer will run.
I'm putting this info here because I searched but was unable to find this subject in the Support Community. I'm sure someone has asked this question, but I couldn't form a query that would find it.

Now if someone could just tell me how to get the App store turned on for my copy of Aperture so I don't have this issue in the future when no Apple computer will have an optical drive!

Actually, when I followed that link, one of the related links in More Like This was a real find! An actual download of Aperture, albeit a trial, but that would have solved my problem too. I tested it and although it's embeded in a support article, the link to the trial version of Aperture still works.

I have macbook air with no disc drive. However, I recently was given some cookbook software as a gift and it is in disc form. Wondering if there is an easy way to get this new software onto my mac. Was hoping I could upload the software to another PC and then burn it to a thumb drive and switch it over that way.Thoughts on if this is doable??

How do I install PS from CS 4 discs?

Ok, this may be the dumbest question of the day.
I have student version of CS 4 with three discs - App 2, Content and Learning.
I put each of the first two in the CD drive and it spins but no install message.
I look at the top files: AUTORUN & an icon but they do not execute.
I go down into the follders below and I find an install PS program.
When I execute it, it says I need to use Setup.exe.
I search the disc for setup.exe and there is none.
So, how do I install PS from CS 4 discs?

Are you inserting the first disc?
Can you click on AutoRun and launch that manually?
Are there any executables in the root folder? If not, look in the Language folders, say US En, or whatever you are going to want to install as.
If you still cannot find any executable, can you post a screen-cap of your #1 Disc open in Windows Explorer/My Computer?
Also, this is a general CHECKLIST for installing most Adobe programs.

Your options are:
- ask the company that makes the software if they offer a download option;
- find another Mac with an optical drive that either will support Remote Disk or that you can use to generate a disk image from the install disk (note that some disks carry copy protection and cannot generate a workable disk image);
- buy or borrow an external optical drive.
