How do I install the newset version of ITUNES?
I downloaded the newset version of itunes and I tried to view it and a box came up that says it was corrupted or installed incorrectly. I reinstall it but the same message pops up when I try to view it

How do I install the new version of itunes
I've been trying to download the newest version of itunes for the past month and I have yet to be able to install it. I haven't been able to connect my new iphone to my itunes to sync my music. When trying to install the newest version I come across this message:
"There is a problem with this Windows installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor." The same thing occurs when trying to download the newest version of QuickTime.
What do I do???Start here: HT1923 Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7.
Basically remove all Apple software, reboot, reinstall.

The newest version of iTunes should install if you are runnig 10.7.

I have been trying for weeks to download the latest version of iTunes to my windows 7 laptop so that i can sync my newly updated ios7 iphone to my computer however it just wont work! It starts to download then it says that the file cannot be found. When I try and go on the apple software program to check for updates it tells me it cannot be connected and to check my internet connection even though it is already connnected. I cannot even uninstall iTunes either, im in desperate need of help!!

My Mac will not let me download any new updates. I have Mac OS X Version 10.4.11, and I cannot download any new updates. This disables me to update Itunes which is the problem in the first place. How would I fix this?

iTunes in Mac OS X Tiger is outdated. Open > Software Update to install the latest iTunes version for Tiger.
If you need iTunes 10.7 or a newer version, you have to upgrade to Mac OS X Snow Leopard. First, check that your Mac is supported > http://support.apple.com/kb/sp575 If it is, buy Snow Leopard > http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
After buying Snow Leopard, make a backup of your data, insert the DVD and upgrade to Snow Leopard. After upgrading, open > Software Update, and install the latest Snow Leopard version. "The iTunes server could not be connected..." How do I install the new version of itunes now?
Every time I try to check for updates I get this message across my screen.
"The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be “ax.itunes.apple.com”, which could put your confidential information at risk. Would you like to connect to the server anyway?"
After which it informs me the user could not be connected.

When I get to the service section when I try to install the newest version of iTunes I get an error message. I'd really like to be able to connect to the Apple Store but can't figure out how to get those "sufficient privileges to start system services" and there doesn't seem to be any help on the Apple Support section of their Website - at least that I can find. Can anyone help me?
I uninstalled the older version of iTunes. Apparently there was a .dll missing. I also uninstalled Safari since iTunes apparently uses some of the same applications as iTunes. It's getting frustrating not being able to buy books or access the books I already have.

Windows could not start the Apple Mobil Device Service on local computer.
Error 1053 The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
I have already uninstalled itunes, all the related programs and I cannot reinstall, this Apple Mobil Device message stops the install.

If you run into the "another installation" message even after the reboot of the PC (which is an excellent idea by HTP ProXy), reregistering your Windows Installer Service is worth a try.
First, launch a command prompt as an administrator. In your Start search, type cmd then right-click on the cmd that comes up and select "Run as administrator".
At the command prompt:
Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /unregister and hit enter.
Type %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /unregister and hit enter.
Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /regserver and hit enter.
Type %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /regserver and hit enter.
Restart the PC and try another reinstalll. -
I installed the new version of iTunes today. It's 12.1.1. After completing the installation, including restarting my computer, I was no longer able to use Windows Internet Explorer. Has anybody else experienced this? If so, how did you fix Explorer? I was using Explorer 11 and Windows 7, installed on an HP Pavilion g series
Never heard of that being caused by installing iTunes. Try asking on a Windows forum. This isn't a problem with iTunes or any other Apple product. If you believe it is, uninstall iTunes. If the problem persists, you'll have to seek advice on a Windows forum or contact Microsoft for support.

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

Correction: Thank you FoxFifth for the good information. I did find this information earlier before landing here in the support community. I have come to the end and I am uncertain about trying to reset my I-pod touch to the factory settings. I was satisfied with the older version of i-tunes. Can someone direct me how to downgrade i-tunes perhaps?

History bug in Safari with latest update? (10.4.8)
