How do I install this .dmg file?
This is a software file, provided by a university, for wireless printing on campus. I can't get the file to open/install.

Thanks for the quick response.
If I double click on the .dmg file I get a pulse effect in response but nothing else happens. I can two-finger click and attempt to manually 'open with' the diskimagemounter but again nothing happens.

.dmg.part is not a complete file.. It usually indicates that the entire file has not been downloaded yet. Are you sure you downloaded the entire file? (i recommend updating itunes through > Software Update

I would recommend that you attempt to reinstall all of the programs and components of iTunes on your machine and reinstall everything again. It can be tricky to get everything uninstalled, so we have an article that can help you make sure you uninstall everything:

Specifically, when it comes to uninstalling, you will want to uninstall applications in this order:

Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended effects.

InDesign is single product of Adobe's various products, not a suite. But anyway, I presume you purchased it as a download? If so, you'll have a .dmg file. This is a disk image. Double click the file and a pseudo drive will appear on the desktop. There should be an app clearly named as the installer, though it may be one folder deep.

Unable to install "InstallESD.dmg" file from OS X Mounstain Lion?

Unable to install "InstallESD.dmg" file from OS X Mounstain Lion, i've downloaded OS X Mavericks and installed on other machine. However, i took backup of "Show Package Contents" before installing.When i try to install ""InstallESD.dmg" file some other Mac machine. When i double click on it its open Packages folder instead of installer.
Please suggest me, how can i install OS X Mavericks for My Mac machines.

Suresh Balakrishnan.Unfortunately with OS X Mavericks you can't use the InstallESD.dmg file as an installer. You have to use either DiskMaker X 3.0.4 or Mavericks Bootable Disk Creation Tool or do an Internet search for the Terminal command that can be used to create a bootable Mavericks installer on an external drive (e,g, USB thumb drive).
You will need the Install OS X Mavericks.app from the Mac App Store to use with all of the above solutions. -
OK, I've downloaded Firefox 4.0, but there is no "continue" button to proceed with the "install" process! How do I install this update???
After saving the file which is likely called "Firefox Setup 4.0.1.exe" you need to run it to install Firefox 4.
If you do not clear the downloads from the download manager, you can run the installer from the downloads manager. Open the download manager, then right-click on the Firefox setup file and select Open. As soon as you start running the setup file, close Firefox. You need to do this so that the setup file can replace the files in the Firefox installation directory. -
when I try to burn a disc from my itunes account the action stops with the prompt, install cd burn software. how do I install this software or check to see if it is on my macbook air already?
That is an odd message - what exactly are you trying to burn? A disk of mp3 files? a music disc? What burner do you have connected to your computer?

Installed a dmg file, where is it? Not in applications...

I installed a dmg file named webexmc_intel.dmg
It looked like it installed, but the odd thing is that I can't find it. It's not in my applications, nor in finder. So what can I do now?
I like to find out where it installed and remove it as it does seem to work.
What I originally wanted to do is install a webex plugin for office Mac 2011. I tried to look for one since its not released yet ( that I could tell.)
Thanks for your help in advance.Not sure if it's a plugin or not. So if it is or not, how can I find it and remove it? If its hidden, I imagine it will be a little harder.

I have CS3 Flash using Flash Player 9 and Actions Script 3. I am publishing a progressve loading swf, which has an absolute path to an flv of http://www.haleygroup.com/work_images/basics.flv. The swf file is located here http://www.haleygroup.com/work_images/basics.swf, along withn the html, flv, and skin. When I click the button (configured by an XML file) on my web site to view the file, I get a flickering box. Other flvs in the XML file are configured the same way and work fine. See this flickering box at http://www.haleygroup.com/, enter site and go to "et al" page, then click "Basics". Any ideas how I can view this flv file? Many, many thanks.
I just changed the path to a relative path of just "basics.flv" and still have the problem. See swf at http://www.haleygroup.com/work_images/basics.swf. Thanks.

I can't install any dmg files and I can't find CoreService nor DiskImageMounter under Library order neither. I think they're missing.
Please Help.They should come up when you double click on the DMG file.
If you are getting a terminal windows when you double click on a DMG file then something has switched the Default program from Installer.app and or DiskImageMounter.app to terminal.
Right click on the DMG and select Get Info. In the windows that comes up find the Open with section then select DiskImageMounter.app and click Change All.
Both DiskImageMounter.app and Installer.app are in /System/Library/CoreServices. But that folder may be hidden. So you will need to use the Go Menu item "Go to Folder" and type in what I posted above to find it. -

I just downloaded Lightroom 3 (Vers 3.6) and once I installed it and opened it, it said that there are an error changing modules. I deleted it and re-installed the .dmg file and it still gives me that error. Can anyone help?
