How do I keep a floating window on top of a tabbed document so that it can be used as a reference while drawing/painting?
Just started using Photoshop CC on my iMac and I have noticed this issue which I did not have using windows based computers. Any floating window just seems to hide in the background as soon as I click on the tabbed document I want to work on. This is an issue for me since I like to have a couple of references open while painting plus I always have another with nothing but my color palette in it. I've already gone over the preferences but can't seem to find the way to avoid this and the options from Widow>Arrange weren't any help also resizing all windows so that they don't overlap each other ends up wasting a lot of screen real estate.
c.pfaffenbichler meruhelp this is what I'm used to in Windows windowsWORKSPACE | Flickr - Photo Sharing! and yes the active document does not need to be the top most window. This enables me to have my references as floating windows and keep them where I need them as I paint.
This is what I have to do while working on my Mac macWORKSPACE | Flickr - Photo Sharing! keeping references to either side using floating windows or options from Window>Arrange. If I drag them closer to the area I want to work on, the window will either disappear behind the active document window or it will overlap as you can see in the two images in the top left corner. Aside from the extra work from rearranging windows this way I feel that I'm loosing a good chunk of screen (see yellow striped area).

After preparing the new video for burning and clicking in the File menu on Burn to iDVD, I get a window saying the disc's already recorded and that I can either Erase or Eject. My assumption has been that iDVD would automatically find the free space and continue with the new recording from there. I'd be grateful if anyone can shine light on this.There are, but not with a DVD written as a movie disk. It must be closed when completed, or it doesn't work.
Apple's built in Burn utility also automatically closes any data CD, DVD or Blu-ray disk you burn. Doesn't matter how much space is unused, you can't use it. You'd have to use a more advanced disk creation app, such as Toast Titanium. I then have the option of choosing to write the data as a session:
I can keep doing this until the disk is full. If I've written five sessions to the disk, when I put it in the drive, five CD/DVD icons will appear on the desktop since the OS will treat each session as if they are separate physical disks. At any point you choose Write Disk when writing a group of data, that means you're closing the disk, and again can't add anything after that. So if I had written two sessions, and the third was Write Disk, it's over. I can't put anything else on that disk. -
how do I switch between windows in the same programme? I know that I can use Command tab, however this takes you through all of the programmes that I'm using. What I need to do is have a shortcut to switch between windows in the same programme. For example if I'm in Excel and have 5 windows open I want to be able to scroll between each window of Excel only with a shortcut.

Technically it is the Grave Accent ` (aka reverse quote) under the tilda ~ key. Tilda ~ is shifted, and Grave Accent ` is not.

the metadata transfers ok, it is the description of that photo that does not transfer.Use the File -> Export command and note the settings to write the metadata to the file on export.

I have an ADF/JSF application and the database is DRM. The program gets data from DRM into this hashmap. Program needs this data frequently. Getting this HashMap is very resource intensive due to a lot of data it has.
I want to get the data in HashMap once ( I can do this - no problem). But where/how do I keep it so that different methods can just use this and not make individual trips to DRM? It may be a very basic java question but I seem to be stuck :)
I am not very concerned about the HashMap part, it can be any collection - the question is of storing it so that it can be used over and over.

If I understand you correctly, you have a JSF application that needs to store data in a HashMap such that it can be accessed over and over? You could put the hashmap into an appropriately-scoped managed bean and access it from there. I'm not sure what a "DRM" is (a digital rights management database, perhaps, in which case it's a "database"), so there is something special about a "DRM" that we need to know, please share.

I am doing a document of song lyrics,in PAGE for my husband on his IPad2. How can I make the document a permanent one when I am done so he can't accidently change it.
You can also duplicate the document - make several duplicates if you want to- put them in a folder in Pages - and name the folder - Hands Off or something like that. Seriously though, copy the document a couple of times and put in a folder and tell him not to touch the folder. You will have easy access to the files if you need them again. You can also copy the file to your hard drive on your computer for safe keeping
I always make duplicates of a document so that I can revert back to an older versions if I need to do so. -

i have my photoshop cc installed on my Mac and my windows laptop is it true that I can only use one or the other now? and if this is the case if my mac were turned off should my laptop now work? I am on the photoshop photography program its just that i have never noticed tho before i have my mac turned on and the laptop PS works fine on the Mac but not on the Laptop

QuickTime Player is not itself able to do this. You need a proper DVD authoring solution such as Apple's iDVD. -

I'm having problems with the fact that the database is growing too fast. I just started over again after installing version 3. I added photo's with a total size of 7GB. I added geo and face info and after that the database was already 30 GB in size.
