How do I keep another phone from backing up to my back up on my mac?

My nanny plugs her phone into my MAC which I have no problem with. However she informed me today that she backed her phone up to my latest back up on accident and had to go delete her iPhone and restore her back up to get it off. She said that she had my music playlist so I am sure that she had my text as well as email accounts. I don't mind her doing this but how do I make sure that someone can't plug their phone into my home computer and access all my private information.

Two things I can think of:
You can set up multiple user accounts on your Mac and give the nanny access only to her own account. More information: OS X Yosemite: Set up users on your Mac That would keep her from restoring one of your backups and would also prevent her from accessing other information on your Mac.
If for some reason that I can't think of you don't want to do that, you can encrypt your backups to iTunes. That would prevent her from restoring one of those to her phone but wouldn't keep her from accessing any other data on your Mac. My wife has the same problem. I believe I found the solution. Activate "do not disturb" in settings - do not disturb - manual. Make sure to also go to allow calls from and set it to no one. A moon will appear in the status bar. You will see notifications of missed calls but it does not interrupt Pandora. Let me know if this works for you.

How do I keep my phone from receiving old emails?

I recently had to reset my phone and when I restored it from itunes my email keeps receiving old emails. I currently have 3,500+ emails that I've already opened and deleted. Theyre coming in at the bottom of my email list. So old as in from November of last year. I tried to open some of them to make the notifications go away but more old emails just keep coming in at the bottom of my email list.

If they're still in the inbox on your server, your phone is going to keep syncing them. Get rid of them by logging into your webmail with a browser on a computer.

How Do I stop the phone from locking while the navigation program is running.

I have a Blackberry 9630 V4.7.1.40. The phone is on an enterprise server network through work. The phone is set to password lock after a couple of min. of non-use. When I have the Sprint Navigation program running, the phone locks after a few min and loses my satellite. I then have to type in a password to unlock it and I then get the signal back.
I called Sprint and they said to press a button after every couple of min. to keep the phone "active". That sounds a little fishy to me!
How do I keep the phone from locking while the Nav. Application is running?

How do I keep my screen from shutting off

I have a droid RAZR M and I downloaded a knitting pattern on to my phone and I am using my phone instead of a paper pattern. The only problem is that my screen shuts off so frequently, and then the text is so small that is unreadable. I have to stop knitting to readjust the text in the pattern to be easily read every time. How to I keep my phone from going into sleep mode so often?

I'd love to tell you how to adjust your screen settings. Keep in mind that a longer screen timeout may drain your battery significantly, so you may wish to change it back when you are not using your knitting application.
Please go to Settings>Display and change the Sleep to a longer period of time. Happy creating!

Disable auto-syncing. Here’s how:
1. Before you plug the iPhone or iPod into the computer, go to iTunes.
2. On a Mac, go to the iTunes menu -> Preferences -> Devices.
On a PC, go to Edit -> Settings -> Devices
3. In the pop up window, look for the icon or tab that says Devices. Choose it.
4. Just below the box, you’ll see a checkbox reading "Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically."
5. Check it and click OK at the bottom of the window.
Now when you plug the phone in it won't automatically star syncing.

I did not restore my new phone from back up because I did not realize I needed to restore and not just activitate it. How can I save the new photos, apps, and other stuff but retrieve the old photos?

If all you want is your old photos, you could backup your new phone using iTunes, then restore it from your iCloud backup, import the old photos to your computer, then restore it from the backup your made in iTunes returning your newer data to your phone. If you want your old photos on your phone, sync them there from your computer using iTunes. The process would look like this:
Connect your phone to your computer, when it appears in iTunes on the left sidebar right-click on it and select Transfer Purchases; right-click again and select Backup.
Disconnect from your computer and go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content and Settings to return it to new
Go through the activation setup, choosing to Restore from iCloud backup. Make sure your phone is plugged into a charger and has access to wi-fi as this can take hours to complete.
When complete, without connecting your phone to your computer, open iTunes and go to Preferences. On the Devices tab check "Prevent...from syncing automatically"
Now import the old photos to your computer (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083)
When done, open iTunes, right-click on the name of your phone on the left sidebar and select Restore from Backup, choose the backup you made in step 1.

How can I keep my child from UNBLOCKING contacts or numbers I have blocked? I know in restrictions when you disable account changes at least on ios 6,this greyed out the iMessage button so the kids couldn't deactivate their text feature.

TeresaBoo, I empathize with your dilemma and have a similar problem. I'm trying desperately to keep my teenage daughter away from a controlling and abusive boyfriend. Of course, she is in denial and thinks it's love. Sure, I can block text messages through our wireless provider, but iMessages run on an independent network. I can block a phone number from iMessaging on her phone, but she can unblock it just as easily. I wish there was some way for parents to create a password to protect settings. Not knowing how to move theiPhone calendars I tried this.....
I have tried importing a .icbu file of each calendar exported just before the deletion. Every time I import a backup, it restores fine initially with all my old events, but as soon as it syncs with iCloud it empties all the events prior to my deletion of the "On My Mac" set of caledars.

I had walked away from the computer and found another mouse hanging out on my wife's computer, I was able to plug it in and got the blue tooth set back up. Thanks for your responding to this.

No, you can authorize any number of email addresses on your Apple Id and then select one of those to use as an alternate Send and Recieve for Messages. It isn't necessary to use seperate AppleIDs. I use my phone number on my iPhone and an email address on the iPad.
