How do I keep Microsoft from adding things to my computer. I have updates off, and recently they have put two new things on that I know of-bacause they caused a problem with my computer.
How do I keep Microsoft from adding things to my computer. I have automatic updates off (because one of their updates caused my computer to crash), but recently they placed an add-on for Firefox that required much time to remove, and they also added something else that caused Outlook to not work. I don't know what else they might have added that I know nothing about.

Not necessarily, if you are using Facetime all the data goes through your WiFi router, your cable/DSL modem, your ISP and the internet to Apple's Facetime servers and then, in reverse, down to the Facetime recipient. Most WiFi routers can handle this unless others in the house are also using WiFi at the same time. The problem may be your ISP connection or congestion on the internet, etc. -
I'm trying Numbers for 30 days and haven't been able to find out how to stop Numbers from adding additional columns to a custom spreadsheet I've created as I'm entering data in each cell and tabbing to the next. I want only a fixed number of columns across.
Actually, it works both ways.
If you press tab once after entering data in the last column, that confirms the entry and leaves the same cell selected. If you press tab a second time, Numbers adds a column to the table and moves the selection to the (new) cell to the right.
There's no way to turn that feature off.
But if you press return, either to confirm the entry in the last column, or as the second press (when you forget and press tab-once), Numbers will confirm the entry and move the selection to the cell below the one where you started data entry in the previous line:
This started out as an empty table with four columns. The keystrokes that led to what's shown were:
d, a, t, a ,tab,d, a, t, a , tab,d, a, t, a , tab, tab (column E added), d, a, t, a , tab,return (selection moved to B3)

I purchase movies from Apple TV and from my iPad. I don't want them to automataically download to my computer because I have limited space on my hard drive. I see in preferences you can choose to automatically download music, books and apps (or not). I can't find a way to stop movies from automatically downloading.

However you should still be downloading your purchases at some point for local backups. iTunes in the Cloud is not a backup service, and if the copyright owners of the content choose to remove it from the iTunes Store it will disappear from your purchase history and you will no longer have access to it. The only solution is to backup your purchases locally.

How do I keep podcasts from copying to backup?
I just backed up my itunes library to CDs for the first time and was surprised to see my podcasts copying. I have the settings set to only keep unplayed podcasts, and all have been played and removed from my ipod. They are also un-checked in my itunes library. However, on my backup every single podcast was saved. Once I've played them, I have no need to keep them. How do I keep this from happening the next time I do a backup?

There were a number of changes done and earlier I had used the "refresh" button in the DSV view, and the updates were reflected in the DSV. Now, however everything should be updates, yet when I hit refresh, the dialog still comes up and list
all the changes it did earlier as "Added". What is going on here?
Now however, all my tables, dimensions, relations etc are setup with no errors and the cube builds, processes and deploys without any errors, yet if I refresh the DSV, I still get the dialog that displays all the things that it "sees" as "Added".
This is even after closing down BIDS and re-opening.
Also, I wonder if this has something to do this this thread, since its concerning the DSV getting "confused"

According to your description, you need to know why the dialog still comes up and list all the changes it did earlier as "Added" when there is nothing changed in the data source view, right?
I have tested it on my local environment. We use the sample project AdventureWorks, we didn't make any modification on the DSV and click the Refresh button, and all the changes were list on Refresh Data Source View dialog. So as per my understanding, this
is default settings. If we click the button, it will list all the changes from the date when you create this project.

i have multiple devices backed up to the same computer each with different data. how do i keep them from syncing all data when i back up or transfer stuff from the computer to a device? one is an iphone 6 and the others are ipad mini first gens, each ipad has 64gb and the iphone has 128, need to keep the data seperate as they are not all mine
Itunes content and pics are NOT part of the backup that itunes performs.

You should transfer any purchases from iphone regularly: File>Transfer Purchases , if they fail to be transferred when you sync.
You buy one and only one download. It is your responsibility to move/copy/backup your purchases.
You can try contacting itunes support and asking for an exception, but they are under no obligation to allow.

Using a Macbook Pro and OSX 10.9.2. When I am typing an email, it fills my trash folder with multiple copies of the email before I send it. I can have over 10 copies every time. How can I keep this from happening and filling my trash folder? I did not have these issues with previous version of OSX.

Hello - Not everyone lives in Silicon Valley or New York City. I have a relatively slow internet connection so it takes about 2 hours to download a 45-minute tv episode. Yesterday I did that, and today I went to watch it and it had been put back in the cloud! "No problem," says Apple, "You can download it again." It takes f**** 2 hours to download it again. The rest of my music is still on my iPad, so how do I get it from my iPad to the computer, and back on my phone? All my music is sitting there safely on my iPad, but whenever I try to sync it with my computer the only option I get is to wipe the iPad and replace it with the files on the computer---which is only a fraction of what I had originally. How do I fix this?? It even deleted my playlists, and I now only have some 200 songs left out of what used to be over 1000!

You can't undo that.
No backup of the current state of the new phone was made. It was wiped and the last backup of your old phone was restored to it.
Anything you had on the new phone is gone. -

You can't do that with iTunes (except for songs you purchased from the iTunes Store). However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer songs files from iPod to computer. If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.
Once the songs files are on your computer, add them to your iTunes library. Then, you can sync your iPod to that iTunes library, as desired. -
When using my new nano 7 with nike+, my music stops after the 30 minute voice alert even though I have set my run/workout for over 30 minutes. It also cancels/deletes that run/workout. This has happened several times. How can I keep this from happening?
If possible I would arrange for a good service center to go over it. Hopefully they have a variety of parts in stock. They can test and verify all is working. The previous attempts are based on guesses by the person at the other end of the phone without diagnostic tests to assess the culprit. It is extremely unlikely for a webcam to fail & for it & a Mic to fail together should be an indicator to a good technician it is something else. EG Motherboard

What do mean by reloading? Once you sync the photos to the iPad they should not sync again. Is that what you are seeing? The progress bar is showing that the photos are being transferred all over again?
