How do i keep my ipad from going to sleep during presentations

I'm using Evernote for notes during a presentation. How do I keep the iPad from going to sleep so I can read my notes?

Bey you have have an MS Exchange account on the iPad (through your work) and they are limiting the options you have (disabling 1, 3, 4 & Never).
Try this...
Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Select the Exchange account then set it Off.
Go to Settings > General > Auto-Lock and you should see all options.
Set it to what you want.
Then turn on the Exchange account.
The Auto-Lock settings should stay.
However, if you go back and view the Auto-Lock settings, it will change back toonly  2 and 5.

  • How do i keep my display from going to sleep?

I cant figure out how to keep the display from going black on me when I am connected to my lcd tv and am watching movies through the macbook pro. I have tried to change everything related to the display but to no luck. It just goes black after 20 minutes or so on the lcd tv. It is fully connected to a power source. Any ideas?
    thanks

You've tried setting System Preferences > Energy Saver > Sleep tab > "Put the display(s) to sleep... to "Never" - all the say to the right?
If nothing else, you can use a 3rd party app like Jiggler to keep the display active:

  • How do i keep my mini from going to sleep

In lion how do i keep my Mini from entering sleep mode?  Since the upgrade I have not had any luck keeping the system from sleeping and need to remotely access my machine.

If you are connected by HDMI, the mini (of varying years, including mid 2010) will go to sleep when the HDMI port shuts off.  It has nothing to do with signals sent from the other end.
In the command line window, type caffeinate -s.  The mini will stay awake until you quit this command (ctrl-c) or close the command line window.  This is a Mountail Lion command (not sure if it was there in Lion)
The application caffeine will not over-ride the HDMI because it is using the -i option.  -s is the key.  My thanks to the Apple store gang in DE (about 6 of them consilting) to help figure this out.

  • How do I keep my iPhone or ipad from going to sleep while using airplay to my Apple TV ?, How do I keep my iPhone or ipad from going to sleep while using airplay to my Apple TV ?

With airplay on, how to keep ipad from going to sleep? Same with my iPhone, with airplay steaming to my Apple TV, the phone or ipad will go to sleep. Settings?
    Advice welcome.
Thank you for your time, Eric

Yes, that is happening because of the app. Not all apps behave this way. For example, if you use the youTube app with AirPlay the screen will turn off but AirPlay continues. If you use the Netflix app the screen will not turn off and, of course, AirPlay continues.
The best course with the NCAA app would appear to be to supply power to the iPad and set Autolock to never. Turn the iPad screen intensity down.

  • How do I keep my iPad from switching back and forth from my Apple ID to my husbands Apple ID?

How do I keep my iPad from switching back and forth from my Apple ID to my husbands Apple ID?

Your question confuses me because there is no way that the iPad can switch Apple ID's without user input. Where are you seeing evidence of this?
If you are seeing app updates that require your husbands ID, that's because those apps were purchased with his ID and will always require his ID and password for updates.
If you are seeing his ID elsewhere, explain....

  • How do I keep my Ipad from dropping its wireless connection?

How do I keep my Ipad from dropping its wireless connection?
Most of the time, my iPad does not maintain a connection to the interenet via my wifi router. My PC laptop has continuous connection, so I know it is not the internet connection.
Is there a way to trouble shoot this? Can I purchase a dedicated IP Address for my Ipad? This is beyond aggrevating since internet activity is the main reason I purchased the pad.
    Your help is greatly appreciated.
    Poet Margo

I would suggest that you give Apple Tech Support a call and go over your settings under WI-FI and General Settings as well as your router settings etc.. There are all sorts of things I could tell you to try but this forum is not the best place to go over all the numerous settings that could be the issue. Just call them and they will walk you through the proper trouble shooting steps.

If you have a POP3 account go to Settings>Mail>the accounts>Advanced and you can select when to remove from server.

  • How can I stop my Macbook from going to sleep whilst I load the operating system (10.5) on?

I'm trying very unsuccessfully to reinstall the system from scratch, so that I have a clean computer. I'm starting with 10.5 and then going to upgrade in increments from that to the last operating system the computer will run, which is 10.6.8.
Firstly I've wiped the hard disk in Disk Tools and then started it up from the master disk of 10.5, and its telling me it will take 64 hours and some minutes to install, so I can't keep moving the mouse to stop it going to sleep for that long.
I know it sounds as though something is wrong, but I have run both Disk Tools and Tech Tool Pro through it and both say there's nothing wrong with either the computer or the hard disk, and it was running fine (if slow - but that's its age!) prior to this clean install.
This computer is the first of the intel Macbooks and is a single core intel processor with 1gb of Ram.
What I need to do is to stop it going to sleep during the install, as every time it does it just halts the install and over night, for instance, I'm no further forward than I was the night before, even though I left it going all night.
All I'm trying to do is get it to 10.6.8 so that I can run Bootcamp on it and turn it into a PC to do my accounts (and no, the software we use only runs on PC, but Paralles, VMWare Fusion etc still make it painfully slow to use, and It's bad enough having to do accounts without having to wait for it to do every move...)
I can't go straight to 10.6 as the only copies we have of this are "drag and drop" upgrades that Apple supplied with 3 of our other Macs. Also the computer won't read dual layer DVDs (too old) so I can't load the full copy we have made of the OS.

It's simply called Photos and there is no options/setting thing on it. I have windows 8, it's a stand alone photo library viewer.

  • How do i keep my ipad from disconnecting from wifi when it goes to sleep

I use my iPad mini for grades at school.  Everytime the iPad goes to sleep, it loses the WiFi connection and I have to log in again.  How can I keep the WiFi connected?

Your ipad will always loose connection once it goes to sleep. There is no way to keep it connected. The only suggestion would be to see if whatever application you are using has a "save password" feature.
    hope this helps

  • How do I keep my contacts from going to my husbands phone

How do I keep my sons contacts from going onto my husbands phone?

If this is currently happening, then your son and husband must be using the same iCloud ID/account.  They should have different ones in order for each user to have his own contacts, email, calendars, etc.  Have your son delete the current ID by going to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom.  Deleting the account doesn't delete it on iCloud, only on the device.  Then your son can use his own ID (or create a new one).  Note that an iCloud account and an iTunes account are different.  Your entire family can use the same ID for iTunes (to share music, book, apps purchases), but each user should use a unique ID for iCloud.

  • TS1702 How do I keep the iPad from installing apps that are on my Mac?

I have an iMac and an iPhone 5. My wife has an iPad and an iPhone 4S. We each use different apps. However, we notice that occassionally the iPad will install the apps I have on my iMac. How can I stop this from happening?

You can select the exact content that you want to sync each and every time that you sync if you want to do so. You can also turn off auto sync so that iTunes does not automatically sync without you having the opportunity to select what you want.
Connect the iPad (or the iPhone) to the Mac and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Apps Tab on the right.
Only click on apps that you want to sync. Uncheck the apps that you do not want to sync.
Click on the Sync Apps Heading.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
    iOS: Syncing with iTunes
You can turn off auto sync by launching iTunes and go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices>Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from automatically syncing. Click OK. Quit iTunes.
    Read this for more information.
    http://osxdaily.com/2012/05/01/disable-automatic-syncing-itunes/
It is recommended that most users not keep auto syncing turned off all of the time so that you do not forget to backup your device. I do not subscribe to that belief myself. Besides I have seen way too many users that claim to sync with iTunes or that use iCloud and they don't have a clue about what a backup is, where they can find it or what to do with it - if they even have one. Too many users get caught in the "This device has not been backed up with iCloud for three weeks message" because they don't have the sense to backup on a regular basis.
    But I digress .... Sorry.

  • How do I keep my Mac from going from sleep mode to shut off mode?

Sometimes when I open my Mac it takes several minutes to get to the login screen. How do I keep it just in sleep mode? Or is that not possible? Thanks,
    Bay

    Bay,
if it takes several minutes for your Mac to get to a login screen, then it sounds like that should be the problem to be addressed. Which model MacBook Pro do you have, and which version of OS X is installed on it?
