How do I keep my iPod from Freezing while listening to audiobooks?

I've been listening to audiobooks from audible.com for years... withing the last few months I've had a problem with some downloaded books only playing a few minutes (3 - 15) when my iPod freezes and I have to reset. If I try to continue the audiobook -- the same thing happens in the same place. Other audiobooks play fine -- no troubles. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, have you found a reason and/or a fix?

My wife has the same problem. I believe I found the solution. Activate "do not disturb" in settings - do not disturb - manual. Make sure to also go to allow calls from and set it to no one. A moon will appear in the status bar. You will see notifications of missed calls but it does not interrupt Pandora. Let me know if this works for you.

A POP account does not syncronize the account among messages.
Could it be that your are deleting the messages from the server when you get the mail on your iPo
in Settings> Mail, Contacts, Calendar> my POP account or IMAP> Out going Mail Server, Advanced> Mailbox Behaviors, Deleted Mailbox> set it to nerver remove messages from the server.

Hey there Brett, during the summer I found myself with a broken ringer and it was stuck on full volume. If you go into your setting under sound you will find your text tones, there you will select NONE and theres no noise when you get a text

I am having somewhat of a problem here. Whenever I go snowboarding, I get down half a run and my iPod (30G 5th Gen.) and it "freezes" and shuts off. When this happens, I try turning it on again and the hard drive sounds like its clicking, and then proceeds to show me the "Sad iPod" icon. The funny thing is that when i get back to my car and plug it in to my Monster Cable, it runs just fine.
My friend has the exact same iPod as me and he does not have any problems with his iPod when he snowboards with me. I've tried everything; socks, gloves, keeping it close to my body (closer than you want to think about), and other various methods. But my friend, as i have said, has no problems. So meanwhile, i have to snowboard without music. Can any one explain this to me? Why is this happening?

The difference between your iPod and your friend's may be that the hard disc in your iPod may have some slight damage that affects it more in the cold.

My iPod touch is at its latest firmware, 5.1.1, and it is glitching all the time. These photos happened within a week of each other. Sometimes you have to notice where the status bar is. The simple passcode that I had for all of these was 3278. Sometimes I couldn't type the 7 or 8. The first two screenshots, I just unlocked it, but all the others, I had to restart the iPod.
Right here my password was "Apple." I typed A, then I realized that I couldn't type P. Somebody told me it is fixed in iOS 6, but my iPod, a 3g, has no more updates. Apple has even told me that the iPod 3g can't support any more updates. I don't believe that. My computer, from 1999, was updated to an update that it really shouldn't work, becuase it is too slow. I don't like Apple's ways. If you buy a 3rd gen and they come out with a 5th, you should be able to upgrade. Like the AT&T videos. Upgrade when you want, not when you're told. If there is no solution, and my friends iPod I'm buying does this too, 4th gen, then I'm just going to switch to Android or Kindle or whatever. Apple just wouldn't be worth my time. Too confusing. I get an app on my iPad, plug it into iTunes, and it says it isn't autorized. I have my iPad synced with my mom's Apple ID and I used mine to get the app. So yeah. If it does this again, I'm switching to android.

I would just try restoring it in iTunes on a computer http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414.
You can create a backup in iTunes beforehand if you're concerned about losing any data other than applications and music (which can just be resynced to the iPod).
If there's something you don't like about Apple software or procedures you can always go to apple.com/feedback in stead of venting on forums where nobody can acutally do anything about it.

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

You may want to try the zoom mode "fit in window". It essentially removes the need or ability to scroll. Outside that there is no way for the OS to know if you intend to draw or scroll and the OS will always work with scrollable panels first priority. There's no way for Windows to know you intend to draw, so removing the scrollability is key.
I haven't checked my touchscreen options on my laptop but I do know it has extra settings in the control panel for the touchscreen input. You may want to check those settings to see if you can disable scrolling using the touchscreen overall (temporarily while you draw).

How Do I stop the phone from locking while the navigation program is running.

I have a Blackberry 9630 V4.7.1.40. The phone is on an enterprise server network through work. The phone is set to password lock after a couple of min. of non-use. When I have the Sprint Navigation program running, the phone locks after a few min and loses my satellite. I then have to type in a password to unlock it and I then get the signal back.
I called Sprint and they said to press a button after every couple of min. to keep the phone "active". That sounds a little fishy to me!

Besides locking in a safe or giving it to a trusted person, all you can do is use a complex screen-lock passcode to protect your personal information. Someone still can erase the iPod by placing in recovery mode and restoring via iTunes but they will have to enter your ID and password to use the erased iPod

TeresaBoo, I empathize with your dilemma and have a similar problem. I'm trying desperately to keep my teenage daughter away from a controlling and abusive boyfriend. Of course, she is in denial and thinks it's love. Sure, I can block text messages through our wireless provider, but iMessages run on an independent network. I can block a phone number from iMessaging on her phone, but she can unblock it just as easily. I wish there was some way for parents to create a password to protect settings. Don't let negative comments get you down. Honestly, if someone can't relate to your question or offer help, why are they even bothering to comment??
