How do I keep my photos from copying to my iPod?

I have a second I pod and wish to only copy my music. How do I tell my computer or iPod not to copy photos, etc to my new iPod? I will keep the photos, audiobooks etc. on my older ipod. Do I have to turn those aspects on and off everytime I use one iPod or another.

Each iPod has it's own settings, if you don't set the iPod to sync photos then they won't be added. You can set each iPod up however you like and they will update whatever you have chosen to update.

The way to keep the photos from downloading to your wife's phone would be for her to go to Settings > iCloud > Photos > and turn off iCloud Photo Library. I ended up shutting down my system, and when I started it back up, I was able to drag the photo to the trash and delete it (I did get a message warning that my deleting the photo might negatively affect the application that was "using" it, but I deleted it anyway...it worked...and I'm hoping I didn't adversely affect another application!).

You can't. It doesn't work that way.
the new album that you created doesn't contain a copy of the actual photo. It contains a pointer to that photo. If you delete it from the camera roll, you will delete it from the album that you created as well. Albums that you create on the iPad in the Photos app are for local organization only and cannot be transfer or imported to your computer, because there really are no photos in those albums

Thanks for you reply. When I paint, I bring up the photo as you suggested. I begin painting. After about 10 minutes or so, the photo goes blank. And, I have to start the process over again to get that same photo. It interrupts the painting process. I think it goes blank due to a sleep function. You need to clarify what you are asking.
An iphoto installation has two major parts: 1. The application or program - that's the software and 2. The Library - that's where your actual pictures are.
So when you say:
I want to keep using the old Iphoto program on the new Imac. There is already an IPhoto program on the new Imac but I do not want to add or delete from that one.
It sounds like you want to move the application and not the Library. Most folks want to move the Library, and it makes no sense to have two versions of the application on your mac.

To ensure a custom ordering, sort the files in an album and rename the files with a sequentially numbered filename.
File > Export > Version/Originals

I finally got up with a solution.
All you need is the photo file from your last backup.
You can extract this file from your backup by using iBackupbot for itunes. Get this via:
http://www.icopybot.com/itunes-backup-manager.htm
Once you get this file you extract the photos in form of original database file. The screenshots on the website will help you to know how to extract the files.
Okay so now when you've got the photo file you simply need to SSH into your phone to /private/var/mobile/Library/photo were you'll already see a photo file.
Replace the old photo file that you've extracted from the backup by the one that already exist in.
Don't forget to keep an extra copy of the new photo file if in case you go wrong somewhere.
It worked for me and I hope it works for you too.

I am not aware you can extract a single photo or a single app's content from the backup, you can either restore the whole backup to your phone or not restore. If you restore your last backup to your phone then any content that is currently on your phone will be replaced with what was on it at the time that the backup was made - so if you do decide to restore, first copy off any purchases to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases, and copy any documents/files that you've udpated on the phone since the backup.

This is a problem. Normally you do need to connect to the computer you've synced ith previously to delete albums that were copied from that computer.
In the case where the old computer fails, crashes or is sold or discarded, you need to get all of your stuff off the iPad and onto a new computer. Visit Apple support to learn how to do this. Once you establish a new tunes library on a different computer you can sync and delete the photo albums you no longer want.
Another option is to restore your iPad to its original state. That will delete everything including photos, non default apps, music, videos, etc.
Once reset and erased you can download all purchased apps again.

The iPad and related software is designed to sync with only one computer. I suggest transferring the photos from one of your iMacs to the other so that all photos are on one Mac. Same for all other files you want to sync over.
To get those AppleWorks files to the iPad you'll have to determine if Pages will open them. If it will then use the file sharing feature of iTunes to copy them to Pages on your pad.
If Pages will not open the AppleWorks files directly you'll have to save them in some format that Pages will read. These include but may not be limited to Pages and Word formats.

Yes, you do need iPhoto, or at least for the following: Plug it into the computer with the USB plug you get with it, and iTunes will automatically open. Choose a photo that you wish to import (or click import all), type in the titile, and click import. A pop-up message will come up that asks if yu want to keep originals. Click yes, and viola.
