How do I keep original image size in InDesign CS after changing image in Photoshop?

Here is an example of what I am talking about:
If I have an image in Indesign that is scaled to 50%. I want to go to Photoshop and reduce the image size by 50% so when I go back to InDesign and update the image the image will stay the same size in the box, but now show that the image is at 100%.
How do I get the image to remain the same size in the image box after altering the size in Photoshop?

You do so by upgrading to CS3.

Hello.  How do I keep the actual size of a photo when adding to a Keepsake?  Used to do this but have forgotten how!  Need help please!
    T.

    Here is my suggestion:
Open a blank, new file (File>new>blank file) size 8.5x11"
    Open the collage
    Go to Select>all
    Go to Edit>copy
Go back to the blank file created in step #1
Go to Edit>paste. The collage will be on its own layer
Access the move tool, and with the corner handles resize the collage. Using the corner handles should preserve the aspect ratio. If you open the rulers, you will have a point of reference as you go along.
Print a draft copy to see if it will be suitable in the frame..
Please report back with your progress.

  • I have finally figured out how to export an iphoto album so that I can maintain the proper order of the photos after burning the file. How do I keep each individual photo title and description after exporting and burning?

I have finally figured out how to export an iphoto album so that I can maintain the proper order of the photos after burning the file. How do I keep each individual photo title and description after exporting and burning?  Presently after exporting and burning each photo is identified by the file name rather than each individual title description.

File name and Title are not the same thing.
Filename is attached to the Jpeg file in the Finder.
Title is attached to the photo within the Jpeg file - as is the description. These are written to the Exif and IPTC metadata on export.
So: File -> Export. Kind: Jpeg or Tiff and Check the box at 'Title and Keywords'. This will write the Title, keywords and descriptions (though not explicitly stated) to the metadata. This can then be viewed in any app that understand this material.
You can choose, if you wish, to also use the Title as a Filename - that's an option at File Name

  • Lightroom Keeping Original File Size on JPEG Export

In Photoshop Light room, when I make edits to some JPEG files in a library and leave some unedited, I want to then export the JPEG files, keeping their original file sizes. The default quality setting is 60%, but this reduces the file sizes.
How do I keep the original file sizes?
    Thx.

All of the Export Presets can be edited and the new settings made to be default. Alternatively you can set up your own, new, presets to your own specification.

  • How do I Keep the "zoom" size setting the same each time I open Safari and from web page to web page?

I have a 27" iMac when I open Safari the web page is only 1/3 the size of the full screen Safari window. I know how to ZOOM in on the web page! My question is, How do I keep this ZOOM setting for all web pages and each time I open Safari up?

    Sorry, but that's not possible.
An alternative might be to use Zoom in System Preferences > Accessibility
Or try a different screen resolutioin in System Preferences > Displays > Scaled

  • Converted to PDF how do I keep original File name??

    Hi
I've set up a automator action to compress my Microsoft Word Document to PDF and "mail file". How do i keep the original Word document filename that i originally saved as, rather that the "Microsoft Word Document.doc" as it appears in the new email message
    Thanks for any help
    Jonathan

It is a problem with Microsoft Word. When it sends a print job, it names it "Microsoft Word Document," instead of something useful, like the document name. Since there is no way to capture the name of the original file when you print from the PDF Services menu, I don't see a way to code it.
A workaround is to add a "Rename Finder Items" action between the compress and Mail actions. Set it to rename a single item and show the action at runtime. You can then type in a name you want.
I had started working on a method to get the name of the document, but realized the problem that I stated above. Since you are "Printing" from the PDF Services, you don't know the actual document name as Microsoft has "hidden" it.

  • Image size isn't maintained after saving

I'm having some real issues here, I'm trying to send some photography work to print. I'm making the image size for the full print size, put my photograph in there and resize it to printer specifications. Crop the remainder of the image. After I save it as a new jpg and I open that jpg, it's right back to the original image size... it's not maintaing the measurements I specified. I've never had this issue until I got CS5, is there some new feature I'm totally missing here or what?

If the pixel dimensions before and after saving don't change, you're looking at perfectly normal, expected behavior.
You were told that in post #1:
Is the number of pixels changing, or just the resolution?
If the latter, the print resolution is not saved in JPEG files.
I repeat:  the print resolution is NOT saved in JPEG files.
It does not behoove me to inquire into why someone who "thinks in print terms" is dealing with JPEGs in the first place.

  • How to I keep my bright Blues in Indesign?

I seem to have some persistent problem in Indesign, that's damaging my ability to actually use it. I need bright, vibrant RGB colors. Everyone knows that in Photoshop, if you convert a 0,0,255 Bright Blue to CYMK, you get a greyish, dull, shell of the former color.
This is happening a lot in Indesign. Sometimes I can get the bright blue. Sometimes the blues are all converted to this ugly blue, and I can't get it back. Yesterday, I could keep the bright blue, UNLESS I imported, of all things, a .PNG file, in which case, the .PNG, and all of the blues in the file, were converted to this ugly version. It's as if sometimes Indesign arbitrarily, or when I bring in a .PNG file, says "Okay I'm converting everyting to CYMK now."
How do I get around this? How can I keep my bright blues all the time (as I would see them in RGB), expecially when I import .Png files?

Dov beat me to the punch... his advice is spot-on; the Pantone Process book is a great resource when you're in a situation where you don't have a good proofing environment (i.e. an uncalibrated monitor and/or printer), or if you're not 100% certain of where the final print will take place.
These CMYK formulations provide a good general reference to offset press conditions; the actual end-product may not match the swatchbook precisely in all cases, but you'll not only be in the ballpark but in the infield. (If your project is color-critical then your soft- and hard-proofing process needs to account for this, of course.)
Ideally you would want to calibrate your monitor using a hardware  calibration device, control your lighting in your design studio and have  the correct ICC profiles for the destination press or printer... but in  the real world not everyone has access to some or all of these things.

  • I'm trying to get the image to print correct size.  i've tried center image, fit to media image,  and they all come out the same size...smaller than the size in "image size".  is this an Epson problem or Photoshop problem.  Thanks!

I just got a new printer...Epson R3000...but have had this problem before.  It's probably a simple fix, but I can't figure it out.  I'm asking for printing on 8.5 x 11 and the image comes out 6.5 x 9.5 every time.  Help please!  And thanks!

The Epson site stated that the R3000 printer can print borderless however the quality will suffer in the expanded print area. Borderless is not supported on some heavy paper.  To me the means your better off limiting you images size to the standard print area. There will be magins about 1/8" on the four  sides so the print area on 8.5"x11" paper is 8.26" x 10.76"....
Take note of the print size set by the epson driver it may change depending on the paper type set. Note my first epson 4800 setup where I set 8.5" x 11" sheet paper from tray into the printer setting the driver set a smaller size for the paper which was reflected into the Photoshop Print preview. It shows paper is 8.499" x 10.999 with a small unprintable area across the top....
    Paper
    Use paper under normal conditions:
    Temperature: 59 to 77 °F (15 to 25 °C)
    Humidity: 40 to 60% RH
    Note:
Since the quality of any particular brand or type of paper may be changed by the manufacturer at any time, Epson cannot guarantee the quality of any non-Epson brand or type of paper. Always test a sample of paper stock before purchasing large quantities or printing large jobs.

  • How to change images based on action.Even clicking changed images should ?

how to change images based on action.
Even clicking changed images should do respective actions.
and while displaying only one image at a time sholud get displayed.
I am using three images for a single column of a table in Jsp.
    Any clues.
Any link for any good javascript html jsp site where i can find some good solution.
    vijendra

In broad way if i say i have multiple situations in mutiple tables where i need such a logic to operate in for all tables.
lets say in first time load of page by default one image will be displayed (one with sorted order for first column rest all non sorted)Now after every click to any image respective sort should get called.along with all images should get changed. Here with every function one/two images will get effect at least.
As in first if i say sort by desc then this image will change rest all will remain in unsort form.
when i move to other column and click on new image the previos will convert to unsort and new one will convert to sort by ascending. rest all will be in unsort form as it is.
Now it seems like same logic is required with two three conditions.
even for everyaction different parametrs has to be passed at differnt situations.
Any good idea if someone can suggest.
I will be very greatful for him.
    thanks

  • Image size is too big after "Smart Build Grid"

The Smart Build Grid feature is awesome. Unfortunately, I have one issue with it- it sometimes zooms the images too much when using the grid feature.
Specifically, I have a 4 x 3 matrix of rectangular images. With each Zoom from the grid, Keynote zooms too much, so that the center of the image is nicely displayed, but cuz it zooms too much, important info on the sides of the image is cropped out in the magnified image.
How can I set Keynote to zoom so that the zoomed image is only as big as the longest axis relative to the slide (thereby displaying all information)?
    Keynote 4.01, OS 10.4.11, PPC G4 867 MHz.
    Thank you very much!

    But the image is in
    <mx:DataGridColumn headerText="Input Status" ...
How can it be fixed?  Please provide your advise.  Thanks.
