How do i keep the original manual sort of my photos that i had in previous library after a rebuild in iphoto library manager?

how do i keep the original manual sort of my photos that i had in previous library after a rebuild in iphoto library manager? and keep the events in the same order with blank events also

Not sure you can.
Library Manager creates an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.

  • How do I keep the original pre-RAW preview exposure ?

IF I understand it when I imort a RAW "NEF file from my Nikon, LIghtroom shows a preview that is a jpeg exposre, something equivalent to a point and shoot photo. Then after processing the info from the RAW file, it shows the unprocessed image. Typically, this image for me becomes unsaturated and less colorful. Although I want to process "some" of my photos, I like some of the point and shoot images, and I'm wondering how do you keep the original exposiure that LIghtroom shows before showing the RAW unprocessed image?
When I'm taking photos just to archive a thing, I like the advanced point and shoot saturated image. When I want to be artistic, I prefer to process them myself. Is there a setting that will allow me to keep the preview look?

Aside from what Lee Jay said (which is technically accurate) the best thing you can do is to learn how to quickly make image adjustments and if you find you are making the same adjustments all the time, create a preset or consider making a new Default tone/color adjustment for your images. The fact is that the EFIX JPEG is the camera maker's interpretation of the raw image. It's neither accurate nor sacrosanct. It's simply a different rendering of your raw data. You can look at using different DNG profiles (in the Camera Calibrate panel) to alter the color rendering and adjust your tone controls to taste and make a preset or a new Default.
But in answer to your main question can you use those JPEG previews as a basis for LR, no other than you make the manual adjustments yourself...

I exporting a video from Adobe Premiere CS6 today, and I noticed the video was about 1/2 times smaller  than the original video I put in. • How can I locate the original .CR2 /  Raw file from Photos in finder?

How can I locate the original .CR2 /  RAW file from Photos in the finder window? I would like to know a easier way to open my files and use them in Photoshop than having to go to the Pictures folder, right clicking "show packaged contents", and manually searching for my CR2's / RAW's. It is also ridiculous to have to export the RAW file to my desktop, and then take it into Photoshop or another photo editing program.  I was able to do this in iPhoto and find I cannot do so in Photos. Please help? Can you please consider adding a right click function that says "Show Original file in Finder". That would make it so much easier and better for those of us who want a simple way to access the original files and use them in other editing programs. At least with iPhoto you could go to the top menu / preferences and find your items.

http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html is the place for feature requests and feedback
Rather than use the 'Show package Contents route, the supported and safer way is to export the unmodfied original.

Some mail disappears from my inbox and I have discovered that if I have to answer or forward the original e-mail it disappears permanently and the original and the reply/forward e-mail all end up in my Sent box - which is emptied each month at the moment. Any ideas how to keep the original in my Inbox? Has only happened since updating to maverick.

  • Acrobat 5.0 How do I keep the original file name after I have converted a Word doc to PDF?

MY colleague has a certain setting in Acrobat that allows him to keep the original file name when he converts documents from Word to PDF. Every time I convert Word, Acrobat overwrites the filename and names it "untitled.pdf". I would like to retain the original name and for Acrobat to simply add the .pdf file extension to the original name. How do I do this?

I have no idea what you are doing for sure. Does your WORD document have a name. I opened a WORD document and selected the Acrobat Distiller printer for AA5, I got the file menu for selecting the name and it was automatically filled in with the DOC changed to PDF. If you are using PDF Maker, then you will need to search there - I removed PDF Maker for AA5 years ago and can't view that part. I see the same types of options in PDF Maker for AA8.1.2 as I saw in the printer for AA5 and guess it is the same. The untitled.pdf suggests that you never saved the original DOC file so it has a name.

  • "In Adobe Standard, when combining files into one pdf, how do I keep the original date"?

I converted multiple emails into a pdf file.  After opening the pdf file, I wanted to combine the files into one pdf however once combining the files, the date modified of the files changes to the current date.  How do I preserve the original dates of the emails when combining the files?

    Hi Softball ,
Thank You for posting on the forums. Apparently there is no such feature that would help you to achieve this.

  • Lightroom 5 make adjustments want to transfer to photo shop to make additional adjustments. how do you keep the adjustments made in lr5 when photo is transferred to photo shop

lightroom 5 make adjustments want to transfer to photo shop to make additional adjustments. how do you keep the adjustments made in lightroom 5 when photo is transferred to photo shop
I am not able to keep the changes made in light room when I transfer to photo shop

Something you need to understand. Unless you are using the latest version of Photoshop Elements, it's possible that some of the adjustments that you make in Lightroom won't transfer to Elements if you choose the option to open anyway. If you choose the option to edit a copy with Lightroom adjustments then Lightroom will create a TIF or PSD file (depending on your preferences), and that file will include all of the adjustments that you have made using Lightroom. Then you can finish your work in Photoshop Elements.
The process of transferring an image from Lightroom to Photoshop or Photoshop Elements involves the Camera Raw plug-in. It has to be used to interpret the Lightroom adjustments and apply those adjustments to the image after it has been converted. Files open in Elements or Photoshop or no longer raw images because those programs are incapable of editing raw image data. I don't know if this will help you in this situation. Feel free to ask if you have more questions.

  • I am trying to delete duplicate photos from events in i=-photo but it deletes the photos entirely from all events including the one I want to keep.  How do I keep the original and delete the duplicates?

I am trying to delete duplicate photos fron my events in i-photo but it deltes the photo entirely from all events.  How do I keep them in the original events and delte the duplicates without sending them all to the trash?

Are you referring to Events or Albums?  A photo can exist in one Event only.  However, it can be in multiple albums, books, etc., which uses pointers to the original photo in the Event.  In those cases if you delete the photo from the Event all occurrences of it will be deleted from the library.

  • How I can keep the original date of a photo when I exporte it in jpeg format (using the iphoto menu) ?, How I can keep the original date of a photo when I exporte it in jpeg format (using the iphoto menu) ?

I imported photo from my iPhone 4 to t iPhoto on my MacBookPro. Then I wanted to export some of those photos as jpeg file, using the export menu of iPhoto, to put them in a folder in Finder. When I did, all the original have been lost.
I tried to copy/paste and I had the same problem.
If someone can help me, it will be great !
    Thank you

Why do you think the date has been lost? If you export the photo from iPhoto the date the photo was taken is there in the EXIF data (simple EXIF viewer will let you see it - http://homepage.mac.com/aozer/EV/ )
My best guess is that you are confusing the file date with the photo date - they are totally different - photo programs like iPhoto use the photo date - file programs like the finder use the file date - they have no relationship to each other

  • How do I keep the original creation date showing? The date seems to change when I edit.

I don't know if there is a setting somewhere to maintain the original creation date when a document is edited. What is happening is that when I edit a document, even if it was created months ago, the creation date is often changed (though strangely not always). I know most settings are document specific, so perhaps I have unwittingly unchecked a setting on the ones that changed. I should note that previous version are being maintained through my back up and do show up in the list when I select Revert to from the File menu. But the creation date shows the date of the most recent edit on those files.
I use a MacBook Pro and an iPad to create and edit documents and am using the most recent version on both.
    Thanks, in advance.
    Shel

"actual original creation date must have been changed. I don't believe there is anything to fix it"
You can change the creation date using Terminal application:
    touch -t YYYYmmDDhhSS /path/to/file
    IE:
    touch -t 200001010101 ~/Untitled\ 2013-10-11\ at\ 8.15.04\ PM.png
This produces (from the screenshot I just took):
To change the modification date only, it would be touch -mt ....etc
As to why this is occuring, what is the creation date showing....//1969?

  • How can I keep the front and back of a photo together in a single image?

I'm running PSE 8 on XP with SP3.
I'm getting ready to upgrade to PSE 9.
My cousin just sent me 24 old family photos.
On the back of each photo is a lot of information.
Who is in the picture, where it was taken, what the event was, etc.
What I'd like to be able to do is to scan these images in and somehow keep the front and the back of
each photo together in a single image. That way I can post them to a photo web site and people
can look at the image and read what it is.
    I have a Lexmark Pro 205 printer/scanner.
Thanks for any thoughts or suggestions!

I worked on one of the pictures with your Mom and Dad. These scans are quite good and there is a lot of information in them. One can spend a lot of time fixing them up - good project!
    Here is what I did:
    Duplicated background layer
Applied Brightness/contrast adjustment layer, worked the sliders
    Merged down
Sampled sky with eye dropper tool, opened blank layer at top of stack, used brush tool to cover a few of the spots in the sky (?dust)
    Merged down
Accessed Smart brush tool, selected black & white in drop down, selected high contrast b&w, covered the sky with that
Selected Yellow filter, and covered the ground
    Merged down
Opened a blank layer at top of stack and added a couple of clouds
Applied Photofilter adjustment layer, warming filter LBA, adjusted density
    Sharpened slightly with unsharp  mask
    Merged visible
    Applied stroke
On review, the spots in the sky need additional work - they show up more on-line than in PSE.  Can be fixed in step #4.

  • How do I keep the original size when exporting?

I have people sending me photos to edit. I work a little in photoshop cs4 and then back in lightroom 3, but when I go to send them the photos back ,they are HUGE! How can I send them the same size file they sent me? (the ones I am currently working on are tiff. files.)

If you are editing tif files, then you have only a couple of choices.
Flatten the image before you save it.  This will reduce it down to one layer. That's the smallest you can get.
When you first open the image, look to see if it's 8 bit or 16 bit tif.  It won't help you, but if the image is 8 bit, and you save it as 16 bit, you will have dramatically increased the size of the file for nothing.  If it's started as 16, no worries!
check if you are saving with compression.   Tif compression is lossless, so unless you did something like resize+resample, it remains the same bit density, etc, so should be just as printable as what they sent you (unless you messed up!).
    Cheers!

  • How do I keep the original background color in a Keynote presentation after PDF?

My Keynote presentations have a grey background. But when I convert to PDF, it turns to black. Help?

    Hi jvtennis,
What are you using to convert your file to PDF? Are you using Acrobat or "printing" to PDF from Keynote?
Regardless, one thing to check is that you have Show Large Images selected in the Page Display settings in Acrobat or Reader.
