How do i keep UK Safari as default?

I am form the UK and everytime i open Safari it comes up the US version. When i change to the UK version it does work but as soon as i exit safari and return, its back to the US verion, how do i keep the UK Safari as default?

Install Glims: http://www.machangout.com/ and you'll be able to change the default search engine. Also has plenty of other features designed to improve Safari. I use it with no problems.

A better solution is if your email provider uses IMAP. IMAP sync email folders between multiple devices. Meaning any device will receive the email, all sent email can be seen on the devices. If you delete email from one device the email is deleted from all the other devices. Check with your email provider to see if they offer IMAP services.
If they do not your choices are to 1) configure email on the PC to keep Mail on the mail server or 2) change email providers to something like Gmail or Outlook.com (as examples). FWIW I use Cox IMAP email and fully sync email between a Win 8.1 Update 1 laptop, a Win 7 desktop, an iPad 4, an iPhone 4 and an iPhone 5S.

I listen to the radio on BBC iPlayer. Whenever another application opens a pop-up, the iPlayer window is activated first, then overlayed by the new pop-up. I work in the pop-up and close it, only to find that the iPlayer pop-up is active. I have to switch to my main application to carry on working. Doesn't sound a big problem, but I have to do this every few minutes.

Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy / paste: ~/Library/Preferences
Click Go then move the com.apple.dock.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash.

I have a user who wants to do this same thing. I did not find any way either to default the attributes to anything other than what you see the first time. Seems like such a trivial thing, hard to believe they do not allow it. I did find a program for this called iDress but I can't seem to download it from any links on the Internet. How to set Adobe Reader as the default in Safari 6

When running 10.6, Safari defaulted to Adobe Reader to open documents not otherwise specified by an extension (e.g., docx). However, in 10.8 w/ 6.0 the default reader appears to be TextEdit - which returns garbage from my financial instituitions. I can download the file and then open with AR but how do I set 6.0 to default to AR rather than TextEdit? I am not given the option to select the program to open with by right/option clicking the file link and I am not sure I want to make AR the default for all .txt files.....

The plug-in is there - but the default still is textedit..... looking at Adobe's site they had some issues in the past with Lion and Safari 5.1 earlier this year..... maybe a solution is forthcoming from that corner? However, that was tied to Rosetta sooo....... I'll cogitate some more but any other ideas are welcome..... Thanks for your help this evening.....

An alternative might be to use Zoom in System Preferences > Accessibility
Or try a different screen resolutioin in System Preferences > Displays > Scaled

If you want Preview to open all PDFs, then find a PDF on your HD.
Highlight it, and then press the Apple/Comand key along with th letter " i " key.
When the window comes up, look down to the "Open with" line, and change it from Adobe to Preview.
Then look slightly below, and select "Change All."
Now, all PDFs should open with Preview.

Huh.. Interesting. I went back to check these proceedures and found there is a difference between using the return key or the space bar as the action command.
tabbing the blue ring moves the selection and then spacebar takes that action. The return key takes action of only the blue collored button.

You can set up your default mail client in Mail.
Open Mail
In the menu bar choose Mail... > Preferences
In the Preferences pane choose General and in the Default email reader menu select your email client
Quit Mail
Now when you click on a link in Safari that email client will open.
